    The Seahawks’ uniforms are fugly. The lime green inset to highlight the Nike symbol is particularly offensive.

      They are, but not as fugly as the 49ers’ performance thus far.

      • Kay Dec 23,2012 6:47 pm || Up

        Hmm… I dunno. The Seahawks look REALLY bad out there. What’s up with the monochrome look? They should just wear unitards if they’re gonna look like that.

          What’s up with the 49ers basically not even being there? They should just get on the plane and go home.

          • Kay Dec 23,2012 6:54 pm || Up

            This is the first 49ers game I’ve seen since the debacle in the playoffs last year, so I wouldn’t know.

            I like these Kaepernick and Wilson guys, tho. They run like I play football video games. Drop back in a U shape and then run forward. Lather, rinse, repeat. Throw it to somebody if the defense blows coverage.

            Is it just me or does when Wilson run, the 49ers defense just stops and lets him. The only reason he seems to stop is because he slides.

              Yeah, this is a huge letdown game for them. Surviving against NE last week took more than I thought.

                Doesn’t help when your QB has Leaf-like accuracy.

                Easily Kaep’s worst passing game.

                  And falling behind by so much so quickly effectively eliminated the ground game. The Seahawks took Gore out of the game and dared Kaepernick to beat them.

                  They take too long in the huddle. Even with Smith, they did the same thing.

                • dmoas Dec 23,2012 10:08 pm || Up

                  It wasn’t just the huddle, but the setting up, play changing and scrambling around in the pocket.

                  True, but they’ve been this way for a long time.

                  First three plays from scrimmage were shitty Kaep pass attempts.

                  I’m ok with calling 3 straight passes, although I would’ve liked to see a run in there. But yeah, Kapernick set a bad tone right off the bat.

              No one wants to put a body on him. He doesn’t even slide, he dives. That makes him fair game. Make him pay for it.

    So, if my milkshake brings all the boys to the yard, and it does, what am I supposed to do with them once they arrive at the yard? I tried to get a playground-style kickball game together, but they just rolled their eyes at me, got back in their trucks, and drove off. I’m at a loss here, people!?!

    Why don’t the 49ers get Kaepernick out of the pocket more? He’s much more dangerous that way.

    • MikeV Dec 23,2012 7:46 pm || Up

      Because Roman has apparently decided that Kaepernick is a pocket passer and dammit it doesn’t matter how fast or mobile he is.

        I love when they take a guy’s greatest strength and just take it completely out of the equation. It would be awful if teams were afraid of Kaepernick running.

        I don’t think Smith could’ve won this game even if he’d started. The 49ers were just flat-out beat in every possible way.

          Probably true, but it wasn’t over at halftime.

            My guess is Smith would’ve taken a couple more sacks. He might have completed a few more passes, but it’s hard to pin a 30 point loss on 1 guy.

    I am at my parents house. There is a cubs visor here that I am going to give to someone. there is a story behind it.

    My aunt had it for a while. she has no use for it and gave it to my mom to dispose. My aunt claims to have gotten it from Cory Lidle’s grandma who lived at the same retirement home as my aunt. My aunt claims that Cory gave it to his grandma.

    He never played for the cubs. Cory’s g-ma died a few months before him.

    I know my aunt met him there a few times. One time my aunt recalls he got a phone call while he was at the home. he said “uh, huh. no, yeah. One more year.” that was before the season where he died. She told me that story before the season.

    I don’t know what to believe about the visor though

    I have $5. No I don\'t.
    • ozzman99 Dec 23,2012 7:27 pm || Up

      Maybe his g-ma was a Cubs fan, so he bought one for her?

  8. ozzman99 Dec 23,2012 7:52 pm

    For the record, Chris Collinsworth is kind of dumb. As far as I can tell, the call for unnecessary roughness on the hit on V. Davis was the right call. It doesn’t matter if the guy didn’t lead with his helmet or target Davis’s head. You can’t hit a receiver who is in a defenseless posture.

    • ozzman99 Dec 23,2012 7:54 pm || Up

      Oh, and losing Davis has nothing to do with using him as a lead blocker. They’re down by 29 with a quarter to play. The problem is losing his receiving ability, as well as his ability to draw safeties and free up the WR’s.

    • MikeV Dec 23,2012 7:58 pm || Up

      Speaking of defenseless, a defender holding up a receiver while a 2nd defender takes him out at the knees and probably ends his season.

      Not a penalty.

        • ozzman99 Dec 23,2012 9:49 pm || Up

          And it’s nitpicking, but Seattle’s 1st TD came because Lynch was sprung thanks to an uncalled hold. Although to be fair, I’d guess there’s uncalled holding all the time. In this case, it was just pretty obvious.

  9. ozzman99 Dec 23,2012 8:25 pm

    So I’m beginning to doubt that the 49ers are gonna come back.

    • dmoas Dec 23,2012 8:38 pm || Up

      • ozzman99 Dec 23,2012 9:00 pm || Up

        I think a big part of the problem is that teams are finding their weaknesses and they (the 49ers) are not able to adapt.

    A blizzardy Christmas night is not the best time to have your clothes dryer go kaput. I think some laundromats are open 364 days a year, and I was considering the laundry room at the Motel 6 when I finally found an open laundromat. Lovely driving conditions too; they said up to 4 inches of snow but there are already 4 inches out there and it isn’t slowing down.
