At first, the finale annoyed me. But I rethought it, and before I start reading other recaps, I’ll toss out a few thoughts.

The main plot was handled well enough that I didn’t care about the rest.

The show took off for parts unknown, which made it a thoroughly refreshing, upsetting and unsettling episode.

The episode was a reminder that the show can be quite good. 

I was somewhat ambivalent about this episode, but the show has become as subtle as the crappy metaphor that crossed my mind.

This was an episode that felt like Exhibit A for the argument that this show should have ended a while ago.

It wasn’t a bad inaugural episode for Mad Men‘s final chapter, but it also reminded me that I’m kind of weary of the show.

It was an episode of endings, and a dubious new beginning.

Yeah, I liked this one.
