That lineup shows the value they’ve put on avoiding 90 losses, namely, a lot.
So you’re saying this represents trying? Sigh.
Hard to say. The lineup contains Matsui.
Dental plan.
This season:
New nickname for Lew: The Gouger
An auspicious start to the game.
That’ll do, type a
Ham! Booming shot!
I know round numbers are arbitrary, but I sure would like W’ham to finish with 30 dingers and 100 ribbies.
Give Coco a 50th stolen base, while we’re at it.
And Weeks a 10th overslide?
Cahill has given up 19 home runs (3…2…1…)
And 81 walks. He can DO IT!
It sure would help us lose this one so we move up in the draft.
pitsburgh lost, Colorado losing. A’s were tied with them as play began today
So we’re picking 10th or 11th? At the beginning of the day, they had a chance to pick anywhere from 6th to 11th.
a loss we stay at 9 a win 11.
Right I’m assuming we win today, and picking 10th is contingent on COL winning and us losing tomorrow.
Cahill’s got a pretty line…
He doing well or do the M’s just suck that much?
He is really spotting the ball well with great late movement causing weak contact.
Yeah, the Mariners suck
Victory! Sweet victory!
I’ll drink to that.
Now that they’ve avoided the 90th loss, it’s a donnybrook for the 8-11 draft slots tomorrow among FLA, PIT, COL and the A’s. The Marlins and Rockies play in the afternoon and the Pirates should be done early in the A’s-M’s game. If the early game results and tiebreakers show the A’s can gain appreciably I’ll make a one-night exception to the rule.
Pittsburgh and Florida can’t finish with a better record than the A’s and since both had worse seasons than the A’s last year, both would pick in front of the A’s, yes?
Yes, I see that now. It’s between the A’s and Colorado for 10-11. Blah. Go A’s!
And to clarify it now, as reliever Barry Zito strikes out Kz to end the game, a Rockies win plus an A’s loss tomorrow gives the A’s the 10th draft position; any other combination and the A’s draft 11th.
Jeez…Kz’s numbers in Colorado are just as bad as they were here.
The end of the Dodgers/DBacks game was some kind of fun.
Owings just got the vulture win of all vulture wins … give up 5 in the top of the 10th but have your team-mates score 6 unearned in the bottom half.
It’s all part of the brilliant managerial plan of Fistpump Assface.
Wow. I can’t wait to watch that inning.
Ended on a walkoff slam, down by three runs.
Ugh. Just watched the video. Ryan Roberts did the fistpump and pointed to the dugout as he rounded the bases. Shit list.
Meh. When you do something that’s happened < 30 times in MLB history…
It’s not the celebration, its the 1988 fistpump.
1988 fistpump:
Cut your hair you hippie!
Sheesh. Three home runs, were any of those pitches strikes?
