The last time a World Series game checked in with a time of game of under 3 hours: Game 5 between the Tigers and Cardinals in 2006 (2:56). The 15 World Series games from 2007-2009 all took at least 3 hours, and 13 of the 15 went 3:23 or longer.

that reminds me of something i noticed about the 2004 alcs and the 2005 alcs.
2004 alcs game times: 3:20, 3:15, 4:20, 5:02, 5:49, 3:50, 3:31. In addition to the two extra-inning thrillers, the teams generally hit a ton – 12.3 runs and 21.8 hits per game.
2005 alcs game times: 2:47, 2:34, 2;42, 2:46, 3:11. 6.8 runs and 13.6 hits per game.
Wow, check out Chicago’s pitching for that series – only 1 inning from their bullpen.

I’m going to tonight’s game. The only thing orange I have is my t-shirt from the ASG – American on the front, Haren on the back. Subversive enough?
I was in Fenway when they filmed the climactic scene for that Jimmy Fallon-Drew Barrymore movie. The film crew had all of us move down to the lower sections after the game and asked us all to chant, “Let’s Go Red Sox!” I quietly slipped in a “Let’s Go Oakland” that was easily drowned out by the other 10,000 extras. But mixed in with all that pro-Red Sox cheering, the movie contains a a small bit of windmill-tilting.
