      Reddick can’t possibly be worse in there than Cody Ross, right? I’d even take Fuld. And why isn’t Vogt in there somewhere?

  50. lenscrafters Apr 24,2015 10:45 pm

    Fun, exciting game at least. Too bad the bullpen was just horrible enough. But that’s a familiar feeling I’m pretty numb to now.

    That’s a shame.

  52. 5Aces Apr 24,2015 11:12 pm

    I hate to overreact, and I know it is still early in the season. Heck, I know we dont have our closer here yet.

    But this bullpen needs to be overhauled and fast. I dont even care if it is just rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic.

    I saw Jane Lee post one of her “I’m getting annoyed” tweets of people telling her that Ike should come in for Eo’F. If not him, then at this point I might be happy with JJ, GB, or BF. really at this point he seems to be a gasoline can and match gift set.

      Man, this is turning into a disaster.

      • Glorious Mundy Apr 25,2015 9:43 am || Up

        I’m actually kind of excited to see what Muncy can do. That’s how far we’ve fallen.

    • Soaker Apr 25,2015 10:21 am || Up

      “Medial meniscus tear” sounds surgical. Usually those relatively minor knee repairs only cost 3-4 weeks.

      Muncy must be a short-term plug-in due to Lawrie bashing his knee last night. They need a middle infielder to replace Zobrist. I’d think Wendle, although if they want maximum versatility the Magician lurks.

          If he weren’t injured himself, sure (ankle IIRC). He’s on the Nashville DL.

          Nobody will object much if Cody Ross gets the DFA to make room for either Wendle or Parrino.

              The answer to a trivia question in a few years.

              • lenscrafters Apr 25,2015 4:15 pm || Up

                Seeing Muncy and Ross start games like today’s really reminds me of those games back in the Geren era where guys like Jeremy Hermida and Jeff Larish somehow ended up in the lineup.

                Just bad, forgettable memories that are only triggered by new versions of Hermidas and Larishes.

                • vignette17 Apr 27,2015 1:49 pm || Up

                  Lineups that started with DaVanon-Hannahan, while entertaining to say, were NOT entertaining to watch.

      • andeux Apr 25,2015 11:41 am || Up

        Lawrie can also play 2B (26 starts last year) so there is some flexibility there.

        The other problem is that they need someone who can hit lefties, which has more to do with Gentry/Ross/Phegley/Canha/Lawrie being off to terrible starts than it does with Zobrist’s injury. Wendle and Muncy are both lefties also, so not likely to help there. It would not surprise me to see them looking outside the organization again to replace Ross.

        TINSTAAFK
  54. Glorious Mundy Apr 25,2015 9:42 am

    Wow, Zobrist actually wasn’t OK to play and he needs surgery after all? Shocker.
