I thought I was developing a healthy dislike of KC, but then I remembered these guys.
Home.
Safe!
I feel like dancing around and singing like a Disney princess.
And you wont have to lock your door 7 times!
Two little kids and housekeeping tried to get in even after I complained. I took that as a sign to get out of bed and go home.
The dog likes to push my door open at night too. But I don’t care if he sees me starfishing it naked.
And he didnt mind me putting that little camera in his collar.
Creeper
I prefer the term Stalker-American
Google “naked starfish “
I think it sort of speaks for itself.
Safe At Home was the title for my wife’s middle-grade novel, but she just got word from the editor that she needs a title because her old one is taken.
Are these jerks still pretending that Josh Hamilton doesn’t exist, or what?
Brandon allen better turn it on again like during his first week
I’m trying to figure out what you’re talking about and I just can’t.
canha
Oh. His AB was ugly.
This dude takes a damn hour to throw a pitch out of the stretch.
you have got to be fking kidding me
Fuld clogging the bases ahead of Vogt and Butler.
God, Fuld is such a shitty baserunner for a gritty short dude.
How is it possible to get that bad a read.
Jesus titty fucking Christ.
wow. good job base cloggers
Vogt scores on the sac fly if Fuld hadn’t bonered, right?
Certainly.
vince mocking a mid week light attendance is not a good look for an A’s announcer
Isn’t Graveman basically Dan Otero?
no
One day…
that was just bad luck. two bloops
I really hate the Slegna. Like there is the typical disdain for other franchises, but this, this is something else.
Also Game 14.
that is what is says 12 and 2
Oh bugger.
10 or whatever it was, trades later and we still can’t get a pitcher who can field.
If that’s what we were looking for, our priorities are pretty shitty.
“popped up behind the plate, fuld over for a look but its out of play”
no correction
OK I’m TV no radio, I would bet $100 that Vince’s call of Fuld’s double went “Fouled by Freese down the left field line…” I hate that call so much.
thankfully with kk on the shelf, it was roxy. we know whats happening now
Believe in Stephen Vogt, fellas.
You’d best.
Man oh man, amazing.
Getting totally smoked by Shoemaker in the finale of the four game massacre in Anaheim last August was probably the low point of the season (play-in game not withstanding) for me.
This is cathartic.
More runs please.
Shoemaker has been so bad it feels like they should have about twice as many by now.
Unfortunately, so has Graveman.
All the sloppy play behind him is a major contributing factor. Of course, that includes his sloppy play.
How soon until Barreto is ready?
only a matter of time
About six months after we trade him.
At least Semien atoned for his fielding sin.
Not to split-hairs here, but isn’t that simply a two-seam fastball (or sinker) that Graveman is mainly using, as opposed to a cutter?
Supposedly he has both but I haven’t really seen the cutter.
For the record, I am pretty sure I could beat Country Breakfast around the bases. And that is one of the most embarassing things I have ever said. (i was fast in my youth. Oh in my youth…)
I had PTSD about Aybar. I had totally forgot about him until I turned the game on.
was just about to type a very similar thought
gak
Im now picturing him running into everyone and it doesnt matter-hes safe.
Ray Fosse has become way too much of an Arte Moreno sycophant.
there is a lot about the world that ray fosse doesn’t understand
Agh, it’s only the fourth…
I have been spoiled by the fast play initiatives. I’m like its the 4th? Its almost 9!!
That’ll teach me. I feel like I just hit 4x on the DVR.
no, no. by all means. walk 2 in front of trout with no out
oh, I get chron and Calhoun mixed up
I’d have to think Graveman is almost certainly going down for a reliever after this game.
Is there anybody at AAA (or even AA) who can get people out? If so, I’ll buy this for a dollar.
All we are sayyyyyyinnnggggggg
Is give Z a chance
Despite my comment below, I bet Cook will get called back up. 4 games, no ER, 1 BB.
Not really.
Of the AAA starters only Bassitt has OKish numbers. He’s probably no better than Graveman, though it would allow us to use the roster spot for something else (reliever or infielder) for four days.
retro not graveman whose name escapres me?
Where is Mills these days anyway?
$$ is 0-2 at Nashville with like a +7 ERA.
Along those lines, Venditte threw another scorless 2.1 tonight.
Meanwhile Zito didnt make it as far as Graveman.
drools
Looks like I’m wrong about this, although much credit has to be given to Otero for saving the pen and not necessitating a move. Although andeux’s point about everyone in AAA being too awful to be called up is certainly true as well.
2014 Dan Otero was found at the Burbank airport!
O-O-Otero!
One day, Kendall Graveman will be just like that!
heh
There’s so much awesome is this comment.
Why do they think we want to hear about the Det series? Hey-lets talk some more about the Jeter flip! Maybe you can talk about the day my mom died for that personal touch!!
I think I have to put my dog down soon, maybe they can come and kick her first.
Thanks, and go As.
No, no, no. They’ll show you an hour long celebratory video of other dogs being put down.
More runs would be nice…we’re getting dangerously close to high leverage situations.
still time to bring in our saves leader
pick off attempt?
Trout looks like a parody of himself.
he was the posterboy for not staying in the box. has he gotten better? not watching
I Like Ike!
I want him to hit 30 home runs
ok
What about after the ASG though?
Thanks, and go As.
canyonerooooo
DanOteroooooo
snicker.
did I forget about that meme?
I am not sure if Melvin learned his lesson or didn’t by not using gentry here
Addison Russell has been called up.
Are we allowed to do that?
Has it been six months already?
Is it bad if I hope he has a Kris Bryant start?
Thanks, and go As.
Otero channeling his Jerry Blevins vs slegnA tonight.
This is Dan Otero?
I feel like Lawrie is always in a 0-2 count.
Don’t make me hate you, Clippy.
The big red dawg.
That was exciting. FK the slegna
Winning fugly.
Yay A’s. Yay Warriors.
Warriors have played 2 “okay” games and won both.
They need to catch fire though.
Thanks, and go As.
They need to get away from Davis, that’s for sure.
Also, does Steph always look 99% of the way to exhaustion-related death?
I’m paying attention to the Warriors, and flipped back and forth between games. It’s hard not to agree with Barkley. He’s right to be skeptical. The playoffs are what counts in the NBA, and the Warriors are beating one terrific but underused player and a bunch of other decent guys, at home, by not much.
They didn’t win 67 games by accident, but the regular season doesn’t mean much.
I didn’t catch Barkley last night (watched the local broadcast because Jim Barnett >>>>>>> Reggie Miller or whoever), but I don’t really get why any Warriors fan should feel worse after these two games than they did coming in. They were playing the Pelicans. Who else were they supposed to beat? They led them by 25 in the first game before taking their foot off the gas, and then they beat them by 10 on a night when Steph’s shot wasn’t falling (the thing Barkley supposedly is so worried about). That’s pretty good! Last night the Pelicans ran about the best game plan you can against the Warriors. Run Steph off the three point line, double him with a god-damn sea monster of a big man on pick and rolls, and have all five guys hip check him every time he runs past. They still lost by 10, because the Warriors defense is just too good.
And the Pelicans are not a bad team. They won 45 games in the tougher conference, they got better in the second half, and they played the Warriors tougher than several teams with winning records did. It’s a difficult matchup. It will probably take 5 or 6 games to beat them. And that’s fine. The Warriors may not be better than a coin flip to win the title, but there’s nobody I would pick over them at this point.
I feel like Barkley hasn’t changed his opinions since the 90s. While the Warriors can shoot the 3, they’re more than just a jump shooting team. You could make the argument that the Warriors are the best defensive team in the NBA. But the pace they play at causes people like Barkley to think this is the same old Don Nelson run n gun Warriors.
He admittedly hasn’t changed his opinions since the 90s. Every time he’s asked about whether the Warriors are title favorites, or if they even can with the title, he starts his remarks with “I’ve been saying this for 20 years…” He is immune to new information.
Nice! Gin. Riches.
Just a standard, run-of-the-mill W, to boot.
Astros in First Place Watch has entered its second 24 hours. Stay tuned for updates.
Of course, Otero comes out and pitches really well. Baseball keeps reminding me that it’s weird.
It is nice to have good fielders at the corners.
The Russell callup… sigh. Everyone keeps trying to justify it, but that could really go down as a hideous, awful trade – the sort of trade that makes the current justifications of “At least Beane went for it” look stupid.
I’m not going to overreact to Graveman. He’s young. Maybe he’ll figure it out. Maybe the A’s will have to go back to Jesse Chavez. The AAA options aren’t appealing.
Words are completely unnecessary.
I’ll be honest and say that’s kind of cute. It’s mystifying that the jumping monkey has become the single most indelible image of that horrid franchise, but still: cute giveaway.
But on 4/20 they could have done better.
Führer Monkey?
Smoking a big bong while he is at it. What better symbolizes slegnA.
perhaps our Croatian friend doesn’t know that 420 is code for weed.
Islanders v Capitals has been great. Isles lead series 2-1, Game 4 now tied up nearing end of regulation. The Islanders seem to just constantly be firing shots in on goal,
Also, when they move to Brooklyn next year will they still be called the Islanders?
isn’t the Bronx the only borough on th emainland?
I suppose that’s so. Islander doesn’t sound very Brooklyn though.
Going to OT, great series.
There is an NHL team called the Jets??
Yes, the Winnipeg Jets. Existed for around 20 years until the mid 90s, when they moved to Phoenix and became the Coyotes. Then in 2011 the old Atlanta Thrashers moved to Winnipeg and became the new Jets. I do not know what the name “Jets” has to do with Winnipeg particularly.
Because of this, apparently.
since when do states have an air force?
So now it’s:
Jets
Giants
Cardinals
Rangers
OilersAny others?
does bucs count?
Clever.
Kings
Duh.
(Red) Bulls
There’s a team called the Red Bulls?
Sadly, there is. In MLS.
I know a lot of people hate it, but RedBull sinks a *TON* of money into sports.
Besides, it’s so much better than “New York/New Jersey MetroStars” it’s not even funny
Thanks, and go As.
SenatorsRockiesBravesBrownsBrownsratsRoyalsI was familiar with the Coyotes and Thrashers, but the Jets was new to me!
They got that guy Benny.
Team photo:
How often do the Jets play the Sharks?
