      That has to be a great education for a young catcher. The A’s have had so many pitchers who say “I let the catcher call the game and just worry about executing the pitch”, which throws the catcher under the bus for bad pitch selection.

    Funny story on radio: When Fuld was traded back to Oakland, he was in KC, and his extended family was with him, so they had to rent a Chevy Suburban to drive back to Minnesota to pack up all their stuff and move back to Oakland.

        There’s nothing to do there but see your sporting event, and eat. I’ve seen the A’s play there twice (before stadium improvements and after) and think it’s pretty unlikely I’ll ever go back.

        Biggest US city I’ve never been to (airport excluded) is Atlanta.

          On consultation with wiki there are a bunch of cities I’ve never visited that are larger than KC. Houston by far the largest I’ve not been to, then Jacksonville and Fort Worth before we reach KC at #37.

        Fuld has been undeniably useful with Gentry on the shelf. Quality move by Beane, and frankly pretty impressive that he has so little ego that he was willing to move an asset for a guy he cut a few months earlier.
