The Walking Thread S4, E6 – “Live Bait” 10

Well, that episode was… different.

Since the beginning of the series, every episode has followed Rick. Except this one. “Live Bait” has us following The Governor from the time he slaughtered his posse following the attack on the prison.

We see The Governor as a shell of a man; Martinez and the other guy hauled ass and left Gov to make it on his own. Eventually, Gov meets up with a family holed up in an apartment filled with beef jerky and Sketti O’s. This is my nightmare, and the Gov’s too, I’m guessing. There’s Megan, a little blonde girl all ripe for replacing his dead Penny.

Anyway, the family looks like they’ve broken through to the Gov’s black shell of a soul, and they convince him to take them with him when he leaves. Sex in the food truck happened. Of course the truck breaks down, it’s been sitting around for years now. Everyone is walking now thanks to the truck breaking down, and they meet a herd of zombies. Shit goes down and everyone runs. Gov, carrying Penny 2.0 ends up falling into a zombie pit, where he fits off three zombies with nothing but an eye patch and his hands. He promises to keep Penny 2.0 safe, but BOOM! There’s Martinez above the pit, looking down at his old leader.

What will happen? What did you think of the episode? Talk Dead to me.

I’m really pissed off that the stupid xfinity app I have doens’t have Ep1-3, but it does have 4-6.

And I have to say: mikev is one of my favorite people on here -slusser.

My fearless prediction, Penny II gets killed and the old Guv’nor returns. Until then, he’ll be a reasonable, nice, pleasant guy to be around. Also, I’m predicting Bob shows up with that group at some time before they catch up to “now.”

Well, I don’t watch the show but I’d be happy to write about it.

          But seriously, folks...

This was almost like a Lost episode, jumping back in time and spending the whole hour updating us on a character you hadn’t heard from for months. I didn’t mind it really, just unexpected, structurally.

I think the Governor has not changed a bit and will be mean and evil again as soon as the occasion presents itself.

And what the fuck, that family had been safe and well fed in their apartment since the zombie crisis began. Leaving that safety to randomly drive into the wild without even having a destination in mind was idiocy (which presumably is going to cost at least 2 of the women their lives in short order).
