So the FKup is in full force, and it is a beautiful Sat afternoon. AND we are facing Felix. Who is dumb enough to be sitting at home and taking one for the team? Me! Thats who.

And god, for a second I thought I was getting slegnA Bankees from Fox. I might have to hopon HSR if that happened.
4:15 home games feel weird.
It looks wierd, and I dont know if I should eat day or night game food.
Fox cant be bothered with pitch counts on their display. But at least they dont have down and distance…
This game is getting muted helka quickly. Look, I get it; Felix is realky good. But I dont need 7+ innings of Sandy Koufax, and Christy Mathewson rolled into one fellatio from these guys.
Hi!!
batgirl!!!
Hiya!
Howdy
YO!
OH, SO WE ARE YELLING NOW!?
AM I COMING IN CLEAR?
IS THIS THING ON/
?
The new CY25 rocking some nice hosiery. And you cant really blame him for a K against Hernandez.
Anyone want to go to the batting cages some time soon?
I would love to go to batting cages.
There’s a place off Central in El Cerrito that I think is new. $35 for 1/2 hour, $65 for 1 hour.
The baseball guides will reward you 5Aces.
They could start with some better fielding luck..ye gads.
Its 76-88 thats the concern range.
The A’s had 12 pitches. The blew it!
Well, fuck.
Ok, so my obvious play is to love that CY25 was unstoppable last night and back to normal when we need him. But you cant send the runner on that shallow of a flyout. And this feels like the 4th or 5th time this has happened. There is aggressive, and then there is overkill.
Mine was a general “well, fuck” at him getting thrown out. I didn’t see the play.
Im not a former scout, and I certainly am not an expert, but I saw it and said to myself “you cant send him”.
Sogard was next. You want him to take his chances against Felix with 2 outs?
Yeah, this was my take too. The chances of scoring against Felix were mighty few; the chance of scoring on a bad throw from the outfield was at least as good as the chance of getting another hit.
how close was it, it looked like a decent slide
Not really close.
I agree with FSU, it was the right thing to do in the situation.
I don’t get why the Mariners play like a World Series team against us.
Ok…Im going to guess that it was FSU taking out some King Felix idiot. Im hoping it wasnt Ed as they may need him.
Of course, beaten by Henry Blanco. Griffin and his 88 mph fastballs can be replaced by Sonny Gray any day now.
Well that hurt.
Well, fuck
Well fuck.
I feel leftout.
Well fuck.
Luckily fox has the score graphic so fking far over on the screen I can still live in my happy bubble that the score is still 0-0.
Well, I don’t think the A’s are getting 4 runs against Felix Hernandez. Hopefully the Mariners bullpen will be bad.
Needing to make dinner has come at a conveinent time.
If you have to strike out, taking 9 pitches to do it so bad.
Apparently the name of the mascot is now Thumper, according to the Fox announcer.
Thumper? Barely knew her.
Goodness!
Poop.
Way to hold it down today, non-tailgating FKers.
Great tailgate, sucktastic game.
Concur
I am still in the suite, waiting for the A’s to get a run
They can’t make you leave, you paid for that ticket, and it clearly came with the implied assurance of a chance of runs.
Downside of a hotel: I only have 5 pillows, including the one I brought.
Call the bellhop, you paid to sleep in comfort damnit! A half dozen more pillows, stat!
I also brought my own blanket.
how about walls? did you bring your own walls?
Don’t be silly. Of course I did.
That was my first suite. Weird experience. Very hotel like. kinda disconnected. It was nice haveing you fkers take take care of my kids. Nicely smiling as they made off noises, took your seats and kick the back of others.
Special thanks to Spouse to be named later for sitting in a way to prevent the first future from hopping out the window.
All in all, its a fun special event, but I can’t imagine going to more than 2 games a year like that
Yeah. Big fan of FKers, not so much of suites – strange disconnect (plus 2 innings to get 2 beers and a dog).
I was getting so mad. I took the elevator to the 100 level, walked forever, lines were horrifying. so I went to the second level which was good for getting the “food” I bought. but then it took me two half innings to find the way back. every usher or employee gave me different directions that didn’t make sense.
They’re a great way to hang out with people in a way you just cant in rows of seats. And great for infants who need to do some wiggling / shiny-counter sitting. It does pull you away from the game itself, though.
it is great for what we did.
I wouldn’t want to watch every game in a suite, but they’re fun for an outing like that every now and then.
Plus plus your boys are sweethearts.
its nice of you to say such half truths like that
They really are! I had a delightful time with both of them.
says the father of the 8 year old child who walked across a room crowded with adults to ask her mother if she could have a few M&M’s. that is one terrific kid.
Sure, everyone loves the sweet beautiful polite children. But what about those of us whose kids filled their pockets full of purloined Nerds and M&M’s? When society collapses, who’ll be laughing then?!
She did plenty well on the nerds, m&m’s and cokes, with a little help from you and Jesa.
running around without shoes then screaming that they didn’t want to go with me, then demanding to tie their own shoes and demanding to go with me.
Yeah — without Any offspringly EDitorial intended (they were fine around me in the lot!), I wouldn’t trust a post from a rocket scientist that began “Plus plus.”
Too much suspicious math.
He was preincrementing the statement.
Well-connected office of the court like yourself has never been in a suite before?
I love the occasional suite game, especially with the family. I love hotel rooms too, actually. But yeah, 95% of the time I’d rather be out in the open air and the crowd yelling. It’s hard to throw yourself into a Let’s Go Oakland chant in the luxbox.
Also, your kids as always are spectacularly adorable.
“Disconnected” has been my take on suites on the rare occasions I’ve been in there, and when nm offered me an extra ticket before the game I turned it down in favor of the 119 location. The party was in the parking lot, and I get to go to games so rarely anymore that when I’m in the ballpark I’ll pretty much always take a good seat for the game over more partying.
a wise choice. I was a little surprised that you weren’t in the suite, but then figured you had a good seat. 119 is way better.
You taking off tomorrow, or are you going to the game?
The suite was for the ST participants so I made other arrangements a while back. I’m in Stockton right now, planning a hike up near Ebbets Pass tomorrow on the way home unless I drink about one more of these leftooovvveeerrr beeeerrrs………
Yeah, totally fair.
Things were pretty quiet in 215, except for the little kid who was given a foul ball by some guy, and while we were all clapping for that warm-hearted-gesture-the-kid-would-treasure-forever, he rared-back and tried to return it to the pitcher. He only reached section 115, and seems to have missed everyone there — but that incident alone was worth the price of admission.
And except for the 2-inning interrogation of a family who’d brought along several volunteer buds (Light). Eventually, they hauled-off Mama, but dad and son who had been pretending not to know her stayed in their seats. Father’s Day tickets?
I may be a little raw from all the recent evidence of authoritarian overreach, but it seemed quite heavy-handed.
We didn’t get bombed by the gulls, so that was good.
Better last year, though, when the gulls were in full force
Not that I can think of a reason anyone else here would want to, but it actually makes the suite experience here nice. The seats in front for you let you feel like youre in a nirmal section. And of course not being in a 20-30k lets you get back much quicker. As long as you forget you are watching future Gnats it is all good.
the seats in front in these suits are OK, but the crowd noise is really dead. Especially when mike closes the window
We went to suite 69 and it was all strangers… :(
there are 2. one plaza, one club.
We had people from the other one stop by ours, and some of our people stop by theirs.
The fact alone a thing like that could even happen is reason enough for a new stadium, or at the least a renumbering of all suites.
For future reference, the plaza suites (which we had last year) have *much* better access to the concessions.
San Quentin has better access to concessions than we did yesterday
Yeah. That was really unfortunate.
totally not reflective of the good time had, or whether or not i would do it again
Agree completely, it was a great setting for what we were doing. Also, private bathroom = score! Most of the infield suites don’t have that.
The design/access issue for these is entirely about football. For Raiders games, the value of these “club suites” is that you’re entirely insulated from the rest of the crowd. The finest food and beverages are delivered to you; making the rest of the stadium inaccessible is a feature, not a bug.
Sure. That’s absolutely true.
Do they also shelter you from having to watch the Raiders?
so Toronto is finally winning. thanks to them for picking this weekend.
So did anyone get the story on that fight in the RF bleachers?
All they said on TV was that there was an “altercation”.
Interesting that AJ stopped and watched it from the mound — tempted to say that it was one of his better tactics, but except for EVer pitching around Saunders, I thought he was pretty good.
So, my brother got married yesterday. We brought home the extra cake… except my dad left it in the back of their SUV. With the back hatch open. When I went outside, these three beasts were in the back of the car eating cake. They had icing and cake all over their faces. It was hilarious.
hopefully not chocolate?
Nope. White on white.
Cute.
That is awesome. My dog once ate half my birthday cake *and* the Saran Wrap covering it. Vet’s response? “this too shall pass”
Labrador Retrievers: Nature’s original recyclers.
That’s my Monty.
Well… composting systems
Dogs are amazing.
