But not at fun graphs/graphics, or links, or interesting prose, or damnit I don’t have anything to post. I blame the swine flu. Ok, I just looked around for a little longer. There are no links. None. If you go to **, you might notice that our secret is out… also, fk is criticized for too much spice. Here is a picture of favorite spice:
Bonus picture: Chris Jakubauskas’s gameday photo:
note to soaker: we actually tried to invite you (and WC for that matter) but were unable to find you email address, so instead the “trail of breadcrumbs” plan was adopted.
Oh, fuck no.
I don’t know why you would have invited me; I don’t post that much and when I do I’m boring as hell. Unless my BAC is above .12 or so…man, there are a few old comments I wish I could delete.
I was curious about the departure (or reduced posting) of several prominent posters and was looking at their SBN profiles. It was the link on Jennifer’s blog that led me over here.
We’ll have monkeyball organize an event for you to commit to…
The A’s third baseman and second baseman discover a mysterious space blob:
I have read the infamous memo, although not recently
(andeux eviscerates that claim nicely in the thread)
We’ve also got volume, interface, groupthink, and clown pornography problems. I hadn’t realized it was so bad (that’s where the groupthink comes in, duh).
Obviously now we have to have a big FK thread where everyone carries on about why Poppy was banned and how the site wouldn’t have gone in the toilet if monkeyball hadn’t signed that deal with Frank’s Quality Kraut, after which I’ll have to go through the trouble of starting a new site, with an even kludgier interface, for a select subset of Krauthors who are sick and tired of all the arguing and just want to be left alone to talk about monkeys and robots and tRA.
Or not. Links:
1. This is why I restrict my Internet surfing to double top secret websites like Free Kraut:
2. Banner Island Ballpark on 8/15, for those of you who live in the area.
3. It would not be shocking if Andruw Jones had a good season. He’s only 32 after all, and it seems entirely within the realm of possiblity that his recent decline was more attributable to disinterest and donuts than skill erosion. I wouldn’t want to sign him to his next contract, but I might like to have him this year.
4. I’ll re-link this from the last thread. This part was news to me:
Speaking of the ** mention. I’ve lost patience with our potential webhost and plan to just use a crappy free one (for now). What that means is that by the end of this weekend (at the latest) FK will have a new sandbox complete with customizability.
That said, if anyone has free web hosting experiences to share (that support php and mysql) please do. If anyone wants to get a jump on customization wishlists, start looking at wordpress plugins.

xbx likes Badgers
My dog likes to swing. Want her? Her name is Elly.
“Better Call Saul!”
Just remember: They cannot charge a husband and wife with the same crime.
if you poke the badger with a stick or something to make it be interesting, make sure you don’t do it in England.
I’ve got two frisbee dogs, a big-ball dog, a small-ball dog and an agility/herding/life’s-great dog. And a new dog with kennel cough.
You need to take the pics?
The trifecta:
1. Gwen Knapp
2. Barry Zito
3. Twitter
FK could use a good meta-discussion, or better, a meta-meta-discussion.
Post off-day fluff piece! He even put in a paragraph just for 74mk:
We are so boned.
Also:
Wait, so we weren’t swept by the M’s earlier this season? That was all a nightmare? Thank goodness!
Hey, speaking of meta.
Brian Wilson appeared to have been running a little gag on tweet:
Wilson may be able to chuck a baseball, but he’d be wise to hang out at FK if he hopes to master the art of internet snark.
Matt Vasgersian, on the other hand, seems to have mastered snarkiness and brought it live to America’s living room.
No … just a (lame) joke.
Wait. Is the NYT saying what I think they’re saying?
FAIL
What’s with the pile of clown hair in the intro?
… must answer me these questions three … ere the blog membership you see.
Quality television “Big Rig Police Chase” on CNN right now. The driver is hanging on to the back, with his shirt over his head, and the left tire is gone.
There should be a channel devoted to police chases (and a honey-covered Ashton Kutcher being hunted down by warthogs).
As in “to swing.”
I have nothing to say to you people because there are only, like, ten of you and you bore me now, or you’ll bore me later so I’m just mentioning it now because I’ll be too busy later to realize how bored I’ve become.
But
STOCKTON PORTS ON SATURDAY JULY 11 AT 7:05?
And then again in San Jose vs. the SJ Giants on Saturday July 25 for oblique’s fundraiser?
I want to do both. Maybe it’ll help me not be so bored this summer.
… and Chavvy and the A’s keep coming up with baroque variants on “day-to-day.”
1. Inman, Outman
2. Mortal lock: During Saturday’s game, Fosse will sagely observe that sinkerball pitchers are usually better on less rest.
I’ve always thought that cliche was one of those things that sounds reasonable on first blush, but is actually stupid. Now that I think about it, though, I realize I actually have no idea whether or not it’s true.
Oooo, FK vs. ** steel cage match. [grabs popcorn]
It’s the primary motivator for the hosting switch (which, I’ll admit, has taken too long).
Maybe if enough suspense builds up about the secret blog, we can charge people $10 each for the url.
I need to take pictures of an animal doing something interesting (not just a household pet being cute). Anybody have a frisbee dog or a rabid badger or something they can lend me?
JoePo takes Pedro’s side in the Pedro vs. Maddux debate.
The Sharks bow out with a whimper, and the Chronicle didn’t even send Ratto. He did weigh in via blog last night.
He also suggests that the NBA playoffs are boring, a hypothesis that’s so universally agreed-upon, it’s probably as boring as the actual playoffs themselves. The New Orleans Hornets were, after all, bored enough to roll over and lose by 58. However, even Ratto would probably grant Bill Simmons that the Celtics-Bulls series has been pretty good.
I also like Ratto’s idea that NFL draftees ought to be able to take a mulligan.
Do people feel less inclined here to join a thread once it’s 126 comments old? Or is it just me?
Outman pitching tomorrow; Cahill pushed back to Saturday
