The Raiders play two games during the A’s next road trip, which means the football stands are in place over the outfield that whole time. That has not happened in several years. It creates the worst field conditions we ever see there. The A’s first game off the trip is the night following the Raiders’ second game so there’s no time to fix the field; all of that time is spent hauling the temporary seating out.
The stage is a giveaway. I saw the list of acts, seven or eight of them, and am sufficiently old and irrelevant that I recognized exactly none of them, but your kids would know who was playing.
Another right-handed hitter, Danny Valencia, is 2 for 20 against Quintana and Valencia said Sunday morning, “I’ve never hit him, I don’t know what it is. He’s a guy who’s always given me trouble.â€
I’m not sure how compelling a justification for not talking “what happens in the clubhouse stays in the clubhouse” is when you’re the dude who may have concussed someone.
Valencia = liar and Butler = narc, as I read it. Say, Bob, as you head toward your second consecutive season of over 90 losses, how much better has the clubhouse atmosphere been this year?
And it sounds like this happened before the game
Saturday, but Valencia still played that day, which does not reflect well on the whole organization. I’d be all right just cutting both of them.
You go out of your way to take money out of my pocket and you’re going to hear about it from me. Step up to me on top of that, and you’re damn right you might get hit.
And I have to say: mikev is one of my favorite people on here
-slusser.
my suspicion when I read teh tweet from hosmer and alanso and crisp was that they weren’t so much faulting butler as supporting valencia who has a bad reputation.
He’ll play #129 in Game 161, and will be standing in the on-deck circle to pinch-hit in the ninth inning of Game 162 when Butler GIDPs to end the season.
They just showed a graphic of pitchers with the “Highest Strikeout/Walk Ratio” for starters in major league history. But the numbers they showed are K/9 not K/BB.
OK, I just went to look at where kHRis sits on the ISO leaderboard (16th) and he is basically even with Daniel Murphy who is batting .348 with a .613 SLG!! How in the world did that happen?
I’m a little sad because I was hoping to meet him in Saint Paul next week. But good for him. I hope he’ll get to Ghost Ride the Volvo to LA when the rosters expand.
In the independent leagues as a hitter this season, Johnson batted an aggregate .236/.329/.424 with 13 home runs and 49 RBI in 286 plate appearances. As a pitcher, he compiled a 5.92 ERA with a 55/50 K/BB ratio in 76 innings.
And I have to say: mikev is one of my favorite people on here

you guys are missing a fun game
At least I clicked through to the thread and got to see Paper Lace live!
there are many billy’s I want to be heros and want to be a fool with their lives
OK, I turned it on and Graveman immediately gave up hit after having retired 14 straight.
Still, up 8-0, w00t!
Also, who had Graveman in the ace of the staff pool?
making me forget about j…..ah fuck!
not on for long!
Michele Ynoa alert
Ynoa!
he left money on the table from texas
He appears to be harboring a grudge against us.
MADDUX!
Wow
!!

But you need all those seat for important exhibitions. (while there are tarps up and the stadium will be half full)
What’s he doing out of the workout room? The camera is rolling, dude.
What is going on there? The A’s play three at home before the Raiders play next.
The stage is a giveaway. I saw the list of acts, seven or eight of them, and am sufficiently old and irrelevant that I recognized exactly none of them, but your kids would know who was playing.
I am proud to say I would not recognize a song by any of those.
I keep seeing Crisp and Valencia in the lineup.
Is it possible to embarrass Billy and Lew into 130? I would have thought no.
I wonder about BoMel’s role in this.
he is at 96 games.
he needs 34 in 38
against a lefty…
Butler is still out sick, but it’s odd that Valencia is sitting.
Also he may have beaten up Billy Butler.
Oh.
I’m not sure how compelling a justification for not talking “what happens in the clubhouse stays in the clubhouse” is when you’re the dude who may have concussed someone.
but when he told your shoe rep that he wears nikes sometimes, its cool
A lot of A’s related things have made me roll my eyes lately, but none harder than this.
Did Billy say something unflattering about Danny’s wench?
Valencia = liar and Butler = narc, as I read it. Say, Bob, as you head toward your second consecutive season of over 90 losses, how much better has the clubhouse atmosphere been this year?
Sounds about right. Plus violent.
And it sounds like this happened before the game
Saturday, but Valencia still played that day, which does not reflect well on the whole organization. I’d be all right just cutting both of them.
Should probably cut the other 23 too. Just to be safe.
sounds like a nothing burger that got someone hurt.
we just have to wait for the other shoe to drop.
Idiots. Both of them.
I have a hard time faulting Valencia here.
You go out of your way to take money out of my pocket and you’re going to hear about it from me. Step up to me on top of that, and you’re damn right you might get hit.
Thanks, and go As.
my suspicion when I read teh tweet from hosmer and alanso and crisp was that they weren’t so much faulting butler as supporting valencia who has a bad reputation.
but, yeah, I mean, this is stupid all around.
these appear to be nike’s.
I don’t know what these are
I have seen more pics with what look like nike shoes and a few with this other colorful shoe.
these
then again:
I should be making dinner
he is an honorable mention. scroll for a while
Wow, most of those are hideous.
but clearly nike. Google images doesn’t have him wearing anything other than Nike. WIth the twins, a’s, jays, orioles, nationals or minor leagues
also, i think Butler wears Mizuno
I get the impression that Butler is kind of a douche who likes to passively wreck havoc. Not necessarily malicious in his intent, more troll like.
Hey at least Brett Lawrie is gone even though Jed Lowrie sucks.
Thanks, and go As.
(39 including today, so 33 in 38 after today)
I think they’re going to troll him up to 129.
He’ll play #129 in Game 161, and will be standing in the on-deck circle to pinch-hit in the ninth inning of Game 162 when Butler GIDPs to end the season.
And be in jail by midnight after having bashed Butler’s head in with his bat.
We get to start complaining about Chad Pinder today.
not that guy
hr by abreu? feels right
Reddick would have caught that.
OK I have no idea who that is.
lanerhans?
I think it’s Stan Javier.
#notjustme
is this rotation the one that akes me forget games are on?
ok chad. good luck next time
They just showed a graphic of pitchers with the “Highest Strikeout/Walk Ratio” for starters in major league history. But the numbers they showed are K/9 not K/BB.
its saber saturday!
I hope someone got fired for that blunder.
ray? vince? glen?
Fire ’em all and let god sort ’em out.
Endorsed.
I fear the Rossweiler isn’t the answer.
i have never heard announcers so confident on a challenge.
nice try “chad”
good tease. if rossweiler had not started…
Fosse making the case that Chicago should have left Sale in to pitch the ninth, having already thrown 120 pitches and with a six run lead.
In other news, Brett Anderson allowed 6 runs in 3+ innings to lower his ERA to 24.75.
Yeah, but he’s injured. Probably.
fahan’s computer is stuck in 2012
I wish mine was.
*cough*
But Rich Hill will make the start tonight…assuming he survives his warmup in the bullpen.
He’s Alive! Alive I tell you!
I am really looking forward to a lot of Mark Sanchez this season for the Donkeys.
FKin’ Pinder.
Throw him on the heap of Not Mark Ellises.
man, if we can’t just get ladendorff back
I really dig the Carlton Fisk/Tom Seaver jammies.
vince. tell me its a home run first
So obsessed with details you are.
now see that was a good call vince. on the diving play by shuck
I think the longer the play takes to develope the worse it he is
He always provides the news analysis before the news.
of course, he hadn’t told us there was a linve drive to center when he made the call. he was still talking about something or other
Khris Davis has his OBP up to .300!
hey! he took a pitch right there
Strike three?
baby steps
OK, I just went to look at where kHRis sits on the ISO leaderboard (16th) and he is basically even with Daniel Murphy who is batting .348 with a .613 SLG!! How in the world did that happen?
Third best wOBA in MLB, after Ortiz and Altuve. Actually that whole top 3 is pretty weird, once you consider that Ortiz is 40.
so, basically mark trumbo.
He’s also juiced out of his mind, so it makes a little more sense that way
Thanks, and go As.
yay chad!
They left him hanging.
Eibner got three hanging sliders that at bat.
Samardzaja has a no hitter.
He walked Syndegaard in the 3rd for the only baserunner (i think)
Then gave up a double followed by a Sexy Feet bomb.
FK the Giants.
josh lewin couldn’t stop talking about Giradelli after that
How I spent my vacation:
what’s the corresponding move?
Arismendy Alcantara is on the lineup card.
Please address the lack of talent while you are in there.
Dan. Johnson.
rtt, e
I’m a little sad because I was hoping to meet him in Saint Paul next week. But good for him. I hope he’ll get to Ghost Ride the Volvo to LA when the rosters expand.
Uh.. they signed him to pitch?
Thanks, and go As.
With numbers like that, wouldn’t you? No? Not at all? Oh. Right. Cause he sucks.
