There will be many things to miss when Justified wraps up its final season. Its effortless way with dialogue is one of them.
I’ve been rewatching the second season of Breaking Bad recently, having convinced my wife to watch it at last. And something struck me, while watching the final season premiere of Justified last night.

I had seen a few reviews of the first episode of the two-part last season of Mad Men, and I didn’t share the sense that this was a great one.
Josh Reddick vs WWE wrestler Daniel Bryan. Supposedly Reddick will keep the beard all season long. I’m sure that’ll feel real comfortable in KC in July and Cincy in August. This wrestler may have bombast and Twitter followers, but Reddick’s beard kicks his ass.
I was in the mood to overlook flaws tonight, but they did bother me even though the episode was fun to watch.
I liked this episode. It kept me off guard.
They went all out to give Quarles, the season’s main villain, a backstory that explains his twisted nature. Â That part of the episode worked, and gave Neal McDonough his Emmy reel. Â But I’m getting a little tired of him.
Sometimes, this show has enough good lines and scenes that I overlook everything else. Â Tuesday’s episode was one of them.
As news broke that the show has been renewed for a fourth season, we got an episode that made me happy it’s going to be around a while.
