I’ll be in the L.A. area for a few days but have stopped here to see the hometown High Desert Mavericks take on the Inland Empire 66ers tonight. Apparently the High Desert franchise is struggling, the ballpark lease is up at the end of the year and this wretched sprawl across the desert may be deprived of professional baseball after this season. I’ll trust the A’s to the care of you FKers.

Those are both possible, although it’s also possible she has a bladder infection.

That reminds me of a game I saw Hudson pitch his rookie year, also against the Rangers (but at home). He had runners at the corners, no outs, and was behind 3-0 to Juan Gonzalez. he came back to get the k, got the next guy (Palmeiro, maybe?) to pop up, and then another k (Palmer, I think). Not saying that Griffin is the next Huddy, obviously.

It’s only difficult if the last person left the scoop sitting on top of the mound of ice long enough for it to freeze into it. I’m not sure why we have high-end ice machines in all of our kitchens (of which there are maybe 6 or 7, plus the TV set kitchen), though there are enough events and parties to make them useful.

A few Arizona League updates:
Addison Russell and Daniel Robertson hit their first professional homers tonight. 4th round pick BJ Boyd has 5 SBs in the game. Renato Nunez made his debut on American soil and Seongmin Kim, also making his debut, was ejected midway through the game because of “illegal equipment”.
That is one exciting AZL team. Robertson, Russell, Maxwell, Olson, Boyd (the A’s top 5 signed picks) as well as Nunez, Vicmal, Ynoa. Add in a guy like Vail (the A’s 3rd rounder a year or two ago) and Soto and you’ve got a very intriguing team.
If you are still in the AZL the year after you are drafted and aren’t on an injury assignment, you are by definition a boring prospect.
Vail was injured. The remaining 8 I mentioned are in their first pro US seasons or are Ynoa.
Did he have TJS?
TBH, I can’t remember. I do remember injury but not what. So of course, he’s likely a bust, but if he can get healthy and put up good stats…
