Thread About Tonight’s A’s Game 31

Nice play by Rajai in the bottom of the first, throwing out the baserunning-rule-breaking Mauer. Liriano is struggling this year, especially with his control. Hopefully many walks and runs are in store.

Meh. I wanted Dale to start at first again. I like the splits.

I disagree. You see Crosby is…. oh wait.

Dang you, Twins! Stop taking out our outfielders!

I remember seeing Liriano back in 06…it seriously looked like the Twins had two Santanas back then.

Now some Little League pitchers have a better idea where their pitches are going than Liriano.

Yeah, I thought he looked better than Santana back then. It was nice of him to be injured for that playoff series.

Recall that Liriano sat out for a month, and returned against the A’s in what would be a preview of the ALDS. He felt a pop in his elbow while pitching to Bobby Kielty, left the game, and had Tommy John soon thereafter.

It also created the rare event wherein a switch-hitter changes handedness in the middle of a PA: Kielty, batting right-handed against the lefty Liriano, had to turn around to face righty Matt Garza.

Hannahan has played pretty much perfect D this year.

I would like more runz, please.

Okay, I seriously love Dallas Braden.

  9. mikeA Jun 10,2009 8:54 pm

That’s a really horrible time to bunt.

  10. mikeA Jun 10,2009 8:55 pm

I thought Braden didn’t look very good tonight, very nice outing given that.

Dallas was dealing and only at 96 pitches.

I would have left him in until he at least put one on in the 8th.

Of course, now it seems like 20/20 hindsight.

Is it just my untrained eye, or does Adam Kennedy have a very slow bat?

  13. mikeA Jun 10,2009 9:25 pm

I hope Crosby doesn’t hit in the 9th…

    DFA.

    Or death penalty.

It’s okay, Dale. I still love you.

Um. Giambi. Learn how to count, maybe?

    Okay, double. Forgiven.
