… or, Ray Fosse vs. the Red-coated Dwarf.
Cunningham and Crosby in the lineup for no particular reason. Maybe they’re both struggling through potentially career-ending injuries.
… and Leadoff Man Extraordinaire Orlando Cabrera leads off with a QUALITY KRAUT SINGLE.
FIRE HELEN THOMAS NOW!!!
Also, how did Holliday not crush the two consecutive high breaking pitches?
I’m convinced he rarely saw breaking pitches in the NL. He just doesn’t know what to do with them, and/or AL pitchers are pitching him “backwards,” and/or he needs glasses.
… and I’m not entirely wrong–looks as if the AL book on Holliday is to put some movement on it. More cutters, fewer changeups or straight fastballs than he’s used to seeing. Though those numbers aren’t very big.
Woo-hoo! Scoreless inning!
I’m very sick of hearing about
howBartlettwas the Rays mvp last year.Have two clean innings and still throw 33 pitches? Is he ever going to go late into a game?
5.5 P/PA … I’ll leave the discussion to sal.
Sure, but didn’t walk anyone. Instead, he threw another 2.2 pitches per batter (i.e. almost double).
There goes the perfecto …
Gameday made that K of Upton look filthy.
Everything on the corners (including one called a ball) and then an unhittable slider.
Holy strikeouts Josh!
So … Outman done for the day, or do we try to squeeze one more inning out of him?
QUALITY KRAUT SINGLE!
IT DOES SOUND EXCITING!
At this point in the season, nothing to hope for except a 30-40 inning game, which would be cool.
Damn, that’s a hell of a thing to say in May.
Rooting for the team to win didn’t work out very well, so I might as well give something else a shot.
What a pleasure…a game that’s still engaging in the 8th inning.
This afternoon I found my mind wandering to the subject of Riley vs. Mansion. Now that’s important stuff, but it’s not where I want to be mentally in the middle of May.
I don’t follow that at all in the offseason.
That was a horrible pitch out….
and a nice K.
but a huge strikeout.
Can Crosby get one?
The Fremont Company has yet to introduce Kraut Outs.
The run manufacturing industry in this country just isn’t what it used to be.
We need Bailey-outs.
That 30 inning game is sounding mighty good about now.
Wouldn’t this obnoxious din wear on the Rays players by the end of the season?
Man, that looked fair.
I feel another season-changing moment coming up…
There it is. He doesn’t worry about horrible calls, just focuses and gets a quality kraut single!
followed by having our best hitter sac bunt.
Ahead of our 3 true outcomes guy.
Maybe they’ll leave Howell in for Giambi.
WTF with the sacrifice?
Definition of insanity.
Ick. Jason can’t even hit lefties with huge platoon splits any more.
Just got here…
Why is Cunningham in the lineup? Why does Geren love sucking as a manager? Why is Matt Holliday so fucking clueless at the plate right now?
This losing streak is getting to me.
He has a 841 May OPS. If you want clueless from a “big name” guy that people (for some reason I never understood) thought would be good, look at Giambi.
Yeah, never been a fan of signing Giambi (although the deal itself was a pretty good bargain). It’s still early though so who knows..
Holliday’s defense has been pretty good this year……
Bunts every inning=30 inning game!
I can accept that tradeoff. You better still be here at 1:00 AM when Rajai comes in to pitch the 30th.
I just tuned in… Are the A’s playing their usual “tie game means our hitters only get two outs per inning” brand of baseball?
nah, only when they get the leadoff man on.
Wow, 12 K’s and counting for A’s pitchers. Have they K’d 12 in any two games this year?
It helps when Outman goes more than 4 and a third.
intra-squad game?
Maddon may regret all these situational pitching changes when the 30th rolls around.
Hey, Matt Holliday is up. He is a superstar.
WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
Woooooooo! Trade him quick!
woooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!
Let me guess, another season changing moment?
Lots of scoreless innings from the pitchers and big HRs from Holliday from here on out.
Talk dirty to me gamecast, talk dirty.
It’s a good thing they’re in Florida. NASA’s tracking services are going to come in handy.
Don’t forget, Bartlett is the team MVP
4 unearned runs = 4 runs for the A’s
Was it an ugly error? Please say yes.
yeah, pretty ugly. routine ground ball.
Longoria is the team MVP, but based on RAR, Longoria, Martinez, and Ian Kinsler are the only players in the American League currently better than Bartlett.
Stomper is the one who should be calling team meetings.
The guy in the furry suit that year (2005, maybe?) was 20 times funkier than every other Stomper suit-filler before or since, put together.
Yep
Wow. Kennedy’s bringing offense, defense, and comedy. Great pickup.
What happened? One generally doesn’t score from second on an infield single…
I think the Angels practice that play. Nothing out of the ordinary happened and he was out by a lot.
The bar was set very low in all three categories.
We know the A’s pitching is more than capable of giving up a 5-spot.
Speaking of… it’s Russsssssssssssssssss Springer!
Wooo! fun game.
A’s…win?
VICTORY CABBAGE!
Man, I left work in the 7th inning, ran some errands, and was tots prepared to come home to a heapin’ helpin’ o’ ignominy slaw.
Hey, JediLeroy — awesome job on the iFKon.
agrd.
I can’t look at that lead picture without thinking…
All right people. I find Milton probably every bit as boring as you find Milton.
If the one on the right were Mrs Milton that would explain a lot.
And while we’re on the subjects of Miltons, how come I can’t think of Milton Berle any more without automatically going to his supposed horse cock?
