Freeing FREE KRAUT 17

First, let me say I’m loving the flexibility here (and am seriously tempted to post this as someone else’s user name). That said, I discovered that there are plugins developed for WordPress. Here are some I think we should use:

  1. SHOW UNREAD COMMENTS (allcaps = install it or I’ll flag all your comments)
  2. Apparently allows images in comments, but I think it might be uploading them and therefore untenable.
  3. A tool that would allow me to just read 74mk’s comments
  4. Comment preview, but appears to require something called jQuery.

Personally, I think #1 is a must have (assuming it actually works), the rest would be nice, and there are almost certainly other plugins we should set up.

I don’t think we can add any of these features unless someone wants to pay for hosting elsewhere:

    WordPress.com vs. WordPress.org

WordPress.com is a hosted blog service. You do not have to download software, pay for hosting or manage a web server. WordPress.com does not permit uploading themes or plugins. WordPress.org is free software. You can install themes and plugins, run ads, and edit the database. Check out our article on the differences.

    1. I would like a plugin that alerts me whenever FSU employs the phrase “saffron-infused chicken”, so I can repair to a secluded location before I piss my pants laughing.

    2. For longer posts, I urge Krauthors to use this.

    3. I think WordPress(.com) charges $15 a year or something for the privilege of editing the CSS template, but assuming some deep-pocketed soul comes up with the cash, wouldn’t that make page-widening possible? (Goal: more graceful accommodation of extended comment threading)

Maybe CSNCA will pay for a server if we agree to crop in their logo where the FSNBA logo is in the photo at the top.
