something is wrong with that uniform.
better
These pictures remind me just how weird Bradford’s delivery was even compared to other submariners.
Yeah, he was a true knuckle-scraper.
That’s a better uniform, but there’s no gross arm angle.
Ila Borders, the best female pitcher since Annabelle Lee
Probably too small, but here’s Annabelle Lee herself (Bill Lee’s grandma)
Does anyone else wonder why a Munster got to pitch for the Pirates?
Elden Auker
You guys rock.
maybe the best pitcher of anyone shown on this page, with the possible exception of Ms. Lee
Dude.
She clearly stated “no pathology”
hmph.
Lookin’ good, doc!
This
I think your camera’s aspect ratio is off…that guy looks quite skinny.
Who the FK is that?
I think it’s Don.
I’m totally blanking on his name….you look like the guy from 24.
Dennis Haysbert?
I say FK you Jobu, I do it myself!
Dude, three-quarters pitch, not a massive whoremistress dressed in a three-quarter ivory gown.
Bailey to the Reds?
Makes a lot of sense in terms of years and dollars for Cincy.
Total speculation on my part…
but if the A’s snag Yasmani Grandal in the exchange expect to see Zooks heading to Anaheim. If Oakland doesn’t target Grandal they’ll probably want Todd Frazier and Dave Sappelt; two AAA/MLB OFers.Or you could listen to Jim Bowden who says the A’s are interested in Yonder Alonso.
Which would be a mistake, in my opinion.
Alonso + ????? > Whatever Texas’ offer at the deadline was?
Thanks, and go As.
If Travis Wood is part of the deal you can expect Gio or Cahill to get shipped out soon as well. My guess is Frazier or (preferably) Sappelt would be the 2nd player coming over with Alonso. I don’t see the Reds letting Hamilton go, and as much as I LOVE his speed I don’t think he should be an A’s target anyways.
The Reds’ system is top heavy with hitting prospects, not a lot of options for arms in the lower minors.
At least we could have some fun saying that the opposing team hit a fly ball “over Yonder.”
Meh.
Yonder is a 1B only. The A’s would have to be FKing stupid to think they could put him in the OF.
Adding Yonder pushes Allen to LF, Carter/Kila to DH and Barton off the roster. Cleveland, Toronto and Tampa have need and desire for a low-cost 1B option and would like his glove/OBP. But Barton needs to prove himself healthy and that might require the A’s to carry him through Spring Training before they can trade him. He’s expected to make ~$1.6 million in 2012 and if the A’s take him all the way through arbitration they’d only have to guarantee a portion of that should they find no trade partners and have to cut him prior to Opening Day. I don’t think that’s a likely scenario, but it would be in play.
Pop ups over Yonder, then?
I’d assume they’re going to try Allen in LF even with the current crunch; this would just cement the move, and push Kila into competing with Carter instead of with Barton (assuming they’ll hand 1B to Alonso, which I’m inferring from your comments).
Using a top trade chip to add to the 1B/DH mess does not get me excited.
Especially one with a questionable power ceiling. He hit 5 HR in 98 PA for Cincy last year… that’s pretty good! But he also hit 14 HR in 409 PA in AAA prior to his offensive explosion in the HR friendly confines of the Reds’ home park.
Even with his big league power surge, last year’s 17 HR was a career high. He controls the strike zone well but right now he profiles as a slightly stronger Daric Barton with less of a glove.
And on a separate note… Seattle Mariner OFer Grag Halman was reported stabbed to death in his native Rotterdam.
Link.
Ugh. How awful.
