Sundamagundi 116

Raiders v Chiefs: I wonder what odds you could get that all three Raider QBs, Boller Palmer and Pryor, take at least one snap today? I bet they all do. Hue Jackson is crazy, baby.

Rangers v Cardinals: Watch out Derek Holland! Nick Punto is 3 for 5 with an HR against you.

Protestors v Cops: Game called on account of stalemate? Oakland admin/cops thus far have not asked the gendarmes to implement Thursday’s eviction order. And the events at the Plaza today remain as scheduled…don’t miss the presentation on Indigineous Grandmothers at 2:00 pm.

20 years ago this week really sucked.

I’ll settle for six total interceptions. Plenty of warm-n-fuzzies for me.

In fairness to Palmer, only two of his three were his fault.

I am not much of a football fan, but it occurs to me that football is purposfully different with every team. Recivers tend to go places they are told and quaterbacks need to know where they are going to end up. If you haven’t worked on that for a while, I imagine it would be hard.

                  I have $5. No I don\'t.
                • andeux Oct 23,2011 8:54 pm || Up

Yep. Palmer looked bad, but a big part of that was probably that he wasn’t very familiar with his receivers. And that’s probably why he wasn’t starting in the first place.
The bad news is that he doesn’t have much time to figure it out before the season is lost, and that’s part of the risk of trading for a QB mid-season.

This. Which is why the price being so high for him was problematic. Their defense isn’t good enough to win games.

The price tag was obviously way, way too high. But the real issue is that Palmer just has not been very good over the last couple of years.

Then getting to your point about not winning a championship, which is true, they are worse off next year. I will take a healthy Campbell over Palmer. To actually pay the price of a 1st and a 2nd so that does not happen is just ridiculous. Like I said, depressing.

Makes you wonder why teams do not make a more concerted effort in that backup quarterback slot.

That’s odd, it was there an hour ago, and it’s still prominent on the VTH home page. Reached it via this Trib story tease.

Story was, a groundskeeper showed up at a Vallejo park this AM and heard a guy yelling for help. Turned out the 21 year old guy (claimed) he bet friends $100 that he could fit into one of those rubber strap toddler swings. He lubed himself with dishwashing detergent, slid in, then couldn’t get out. Then his friends ditched him, leaving him stuck for 9 hours until the next morning.

I don’t think you can truly understand another man until you sit at your desk for hours in their pants.

Today, I’m working on understanding me.

That’s my number one priority of course… although maybe not in the exact way you’re thinking about.
