I’m still in SF. I’m going to be late to this one.
Pence to the Phillies.
I thought we were going to send LB for him.
I don’t wanna go to Philadelphia! [runs away crying]
What if it’s Philadelphia of the late 1910s or 1920s? We could go around in top hats, Mr. Moneybags style watching the A’s win World Serieses.
That might be fun…

IDN, YAR. MB, MB.
Ugh. Bad Gio.
FDLS didn’t look very good Wednesday.
Much better. I like FDLS’s silent badassery.
Trade value: increasing!
Anger: Rising!
Urge to grill…inflaming!
nice.
What’s the Frequency, Kenneth?
Not for DpJesus and Wuerst.
Ah well, another sucky performance like the last two plus copious pregame beer consuption by those who partake should make for a colorful live game thread up in the Value Deck.
DPJ has really performed Grievously this season.
I know. I was excited about him too.
My early-season comparison to Damon is looking pretty accurate:
Damon hit .292/.351/.438 (100 OPS+) in his 5 years in KC, then .256/.324/.363 (82 OPS+) in his 1 year here.
DDJ hit .289/.360/.427 (108 OPS+) in 7+ years in KC, and is hitting .226/.310/.341 (81 OPS+) here.
Damon had more defensive value, though. If you believe the fielding stats (and I’m not sure I do) DDJ has been slightly below average in RF.
Another fun fact: DDJ now has exactly 10 GIDP in each of the last 6 years. (Presumably this year’s total will end up higher, and somehow it seems like it already is.)
Vintage base ball from the CCTimes website — do we know anybody here?
I know all of those guys; that’s the league I play in (on the San Jose Dukes). The Colonels are great guys and a really good team, and Chops is awesome.
We may have a little realignment next season, from what I hear.
cool. that looks like fun. You play at big rec?
Yeah, that’s the Pacifics’ home field. Great park from a visibility perspective, but crappy field (though they’re working on that..)
let us know when you are there, maybe we can take a trip down there. Real close to the kids playground that are so popular with…the kids
