   Three reactions:

   1. I agree with the conventional wisdom per ML and others: the most likely direction of and result from this committee will be to deem Alameda/Contra Costa a dead zone, thus justifying the planned southern T-Rights encroachment.

   2. The distrustful conspiracist in me also fears that the Committee report will include a heavily caveated footnote suggesting that IF the economy keeps tanking and IF MLB revenue follows suit and IF San Jose falls apart, THEN the Commish may choose to again float the notion of contraction.

   3. Having said all that, I’ll say this, without elaboration: Though a longshot, don’t plan the Oakland funeral just yet. Never mind what Sleepy the Mayor says…people whose actions actually matter are still working. And they aren’t bothering to go through Lew.

   Remember Rob and Rany on the Royals?

   I think the world needs (nay, demands!) FSU and ML on Ballpark Intrigue. Except with a snappier appellation, and possibly The Dogfather cast in to foment discord where appropriate.
