Well, certainly not tonight, anyway. Hopefully not tomorrow, or any time this weekend. Highly unpleasant watching other teams clinch on your sod.

Over/under for the number of DPs our 3-5 hit into tonight?
I’ve got a draft sitting in the dashboard. Mind posting it for me after the game?
Sure thing
I’m sure Coco appreciates you putting him in the lineup.
There were some last-minute changes. Rajai isn’t playing. Gross is in CF and Carson in RF, and Ellis is leading off.
Wishful thinking.
Fixed
Rajai a late scratch with “a non-baseball condition.”
I understand the privacy stuff but sometimes it backfires. This makes me think things like, “the guy showed up at the park with a rip-roaring hangover and he’s dry-heaving back in the clubhouse”.
Exactly what I thought.
From my reading of the literature, that is a baseball condition
With Cliff Lee pitching against this non-Rickeyfied lineup, the 3rd inning is not too early to start thinking “Perfect Game”.
A run! A run off Cliff Lee! Hosannah!
Lee cut on ear by bat shard. I have to think MLB will ban the maple this offseason, because as-is it’s pretty much guaranteed a player or fan’s gonna get his/her throat cut or eye gouged out. If something akin to Richard Zednik’s skate blade throat slash in Buffalo a few years back happened on a diamond it could be fatal.
Or Clint Malarchuk’s in Buffalo a few years (1989? really?) earlier.
According to Passan’s story earlier today
but, yeah, they have to do something. Figure out if the Bat Glove works, or do more than they do now to make sure they’re only using the best lumber.
Ho hum, another night, another shutout (#16). I like that stat about pitching shutouts in more than 10% of your games so one more is needed. Four games in Safeco Field next week should present opportunities.
Also, win #77 is a new record during the Bob Geren Era.
Loose bodies in the joint
Was that the band you played with during your prison stint?
Yes. Yes it was.
