Mazzaro vs Matusz. Braden scratched with “stiff elbow” (maybe he should try boiling it in salted water?). Sweeknee out. Geren goes rightie-crazy.

Gah
You’d have though all those doubles would have awakened him to the advantages of hitting the fucking ball.
If only he had gone golfing with Frank Thomas instead of Casey Chavez.
Or with Anton Lavey.
No relation, I guess
Chris Hitchens
Ok. This is unconscionable.
I’m seriously leaning towards the fire geren now team.
Tangential question; if Ethier had stayed with the A’s, would he have developed into the player he has with the Dodgers?
No. Park effects + league effects + inevitable injury = no name player
Dodger Stadium is just as much of a pitcher’s park than the Coliseum, if not more so. Plus, the NL West does have good pitchers that Ethier routinely has to face.
But I agree with you regardless. The A’s would’ve found a way to turn him into a Ryan Sweeney type hitter or a mangled Buckian mess.
Yeah – I’d figured minimal park and league effects (and the Davenport translations seem to back this up) but have been wondering if there’s something the A’s are doing that is causing their young hitters to fail to reach their potential.
When I went to Palmer Chiropractic, I and three friends formed a barbershop quartet that sang old-timey harmonies in various Romance languages while seated all on a sofa. We called ourselves the Davenport Translations.
An impressive performance by CoJack: 3 ABs with runners on 3rd and less than 2 outs, no RBIs.
Good thing we have Kurt Klutch hitting behind him.
Makes you wonder why the D-Backs wanted to get rid of him
Shhh! He might start listening to Barty.
Saw a blue pickup with what I am almost positive was some FK swag leaving the Ashby Bart Station around 5:30 today, while walking to my own steel coffin. Anyways.
Sounds like FSU’s
Yup, that was me.
Mazzaro’s inability to retire Julio Lugo angers me.
Hopefully Breslow can do better.
Huzzah! Lugo returns to being Lugo.
If Barty bunts here it’s going to get ugly.
