The East Bay nine, losers of 4 in a row and 9 of the last 12, host the Yankees, winners of 11 straight and sporting a 28-9 record since the All Star break.
This would be a pretty good time to flip the script. Looking at the A’s competitors’ schedules this weekend:
Astros: Off today, then 3 vs. the Rangers in Arlington
Red Sox: Home tonight vs. the Twins, then 3 at Cleveland
Mariners: 4 at home vs. the Royals
Blue Jays: Lost today vs. the White Sox, now travel to Detroit for 3
There should be a few more folks in the Coliseum stands than there were for that Mariners series, though looking at the ticketing site for the Sunday game, there sure are a lot of seats available, and more on the third base side than on the first base side. I know people are down on the scene right now but hopefully some good play from the Green and Gold in the first couple games will bring A’s fans out over the weekend.
Tonight at 6:40: Kaprielian vs. Jameson Taillon
Friday at 6:40: Manaea vs. Gerrit Cole
Saturday at 1:07: Montas vs. Nestor Cortes
Sunday at 4:08 (SNB): Blackburn vs. Jordan Montgomery
I have no idea how to research it, but this is one of the most streaky A’s teams I can remember. It’s not outside the realm of possible that they could rip off a 9-1 stretch to be right back in it. Starting tonight would be a good idea.
Big news from the shelter!!
WOOF WOOF!!!
Best of luck with the play yard project. Glad to see NFTs producing something of meaningful value. They look cute too.
In other local news of non-traditional currency, you Old Blues will have to let me know how the crypto beer tastes at FTX Field at Memorial Stadium.
We played on Kabam Field at California Memorial Stadium for a few years. Kabam used a buyout provision to terminate that.
In other Cal news, We’re Number One in Something!. If you scroll up in that article, the 8th worst mascot tops my own list but I don’t disagree that there are some worthy rivals. The “best” list is unsurprisingly dominated by cute and fuzzy animals.
Ranking mascots in general seems hinky. But sexy dogs and cats? People need to get out more.
With one notable exception that you identified, I actually like the “worst” group on the whole more than the “best” group.
As a loyal alumni I will be rooting hard for Honolulu in the semi-finals of the Little League World Series Saturday, and finals Sunday. No international teams this year because COVID. The other teams are Michigan (suburban Detroit), Ohio (half hour north of Cincy), and South Dakota, whose top pitcher has not allowed a hit through two games.
Go Hamilton!
I watched a little of their game today, they have some gloves out there.
Alas, Hawaii championship not to be. Ohio vs Michigan for the
Big10LLWS title Sunday. In other local news of non-traditional currency, yesterday I was getting into my car, next to a line of cars stopped for the light on the corner.
Twentyish-looking guy in car: Hello, sir.
Me: Uh, hi.
(Other?) guy in car: Hashcash is hot!
Me: <?>
Him: You know, hashcash.
Me: <gets in my car>
That guy was probably the CEO.
this is gonna haunt me
If you had been Dave Kaval, the guy would be rich!
lol
Nice start for Kaped Krusader.
Actually they are saying Boone.
That tantrum seemed a little excessive.
Can stanton be kicked out too?
I’m confused. I thought HRs only happen late in the game when we have a small lead.
I like the strike outs, I don’t like the home runs
One of those nights when you start thinking “no-hitter” in the second inning.
Which is going to be the only reason to keep watching.
More outs please
We’ll always have that first inning.
that was awesome
Starting to think this team doesn’t deserve Khris Davis.
The Yankees scouts appear to have assembled a better book on Kape than they had last time
The Yankees line up is cartoonish
Leadoff man Canha is .145/.268/.217 in August, through 2 PA tonight.
I mentioned the other day that his power had mostly disappeared since May, though he kept his OBP up until this month.
After the season, we will hear that he never really recovered from the June hip injury.
We get three next inning right?
FUCKING WALKS!!!!
never doubted elvis with 2 strikes
Boone is smashing things back in the clubhouse right now.
It’s a fan boycott of ownership at this point.
Ownership’s middle finger has driven away some directly. The price gouging has probably driven away more. But I think COVID has mattered most. You may be underestimating just how vigilant/paranoid the local populace is. Still today, outside on the streets of Oakland and Berkeley, masks are commonplace, maybe even the majority.
It is some of both for me. I made it to 3 games May-July, and would have gone to more recently (probably including this Tuesday) if the season were going better OR if covid weren’t still a concern.
On that latter point, that is something I was talking about with a couple other people recently. Big difference between the Bay Area and everywhere else any of us had been recently (Buffalo in my case, I think elsewhere in California for them) in continued masking and distancing, that we had all noticed. (Even I think it is overkill just walking around outside, but I would wear one most of the time in a stadium.)
For me I still feel very safe in the seats for not-crowded games. The security and entrances and concourses and bathrooms, though, worry me, and unless I’m wearing an N95 (which I hate) I just prefer to avoid that risk. ptbnl and I considered then opted not to go Sunday,
I’m looking at Tues 9/7 vs CWS as the next good sparse opportunity.
I would think the greater risk in the indoor parts is balanced somewhat by the fact that you’re not around any one person for very long, and that most other people are pretty good about masking in those areas.
It is really great that most people here mask up most of the time.
SoCal was very non masky.
I plan on Sept 20 against the mariners as my only visit this year. I am very disheartened by the whole stadium/move thing
Huh, OK. My two Bay Area trips this summer have both been night game/day game quick hits so I haven’t had time to go anywhere but hotel/restaurant/BART/Coliseum. You can see on TV that almost nobody in the stands wears a mask but I suppose the vigilant/paranoid part of the population isn’t represented in that sample.
Around here smoke has been such an issue for the last month and especially the last couple weeks that Covid is sort of an afterthought right now.
Hard to argue with this assessment from The Athletic:
That’s spot-on. Which matters more (COVID, shitty owner, higher prices, lower payroll, fading hopes) is of less consequence than the sum total of all of them. Except for the die hard core fans, really why would someone go?
OK Ed, how many do we get NEXT inning?
one
At the risk of hyperbole. had the A’s failed to score more than one that inning the season would be over.
this is how they get me.
I was begging for a SDI
Foul pop out on 3-0, thank you Anthony Rizzo.
This freaking team. Go make dinner happy that I can turn away.
losisiga in the 7th?
cool
Really fking stupid pitch call by Murphy. Calling for Romo’s fastball in the same location twice in a row is just a horrible choice against Judge.
or you could, you know, fire him
Romo is a witch.
No runs from that. OK.
Turning on the game–apologies in advance.
Loaisiga for 2? ok
Voit is complaining about playing time? has he seen that roster?
Two out walk in front of Judge.
This is fine.
judge only singled. that was good
Murphy feels me debating turning the game on.
I FKing hate Lou. His BB/9 isn’t too far from DieBBman’s and he has 2/3 of the Ks, why the FK is he closing material.
<--------Not saying "Lou"....
I was saying Lou-urns.
Argh. Lou didn’t even get crushed, just beat.
the walk off is going to be great
I hate this kind of replay but he totally came off the bag.
Gomes is a lefty killer but sure let’s let Elvis bat here.
or canha honestly
this is a heck of a TeA’se
It’s a heck of a nosedive is what it is. Pretty impressive to go from that sweep in Cleveland which ended two weeks ago today to the point we’re at now.
Damnit.
Olson continuing on with the worst Clutch score on the team.
Season is on life support.
still something to play for boys
We’re going to the game tomorrow night with friends from out of town who are Yankees fans, so you may see us right on the Yanks dugout. I was expecting a huge crowd similar to last weekend’s Friday night Giants game, but based on what I saw today I’m wondering if it will be diminished. I hope so, I’d prefer not to be in a deeply crowded section. But I’ve got a lot more scary events coming up, tickets we bought back in May when it looked like things were clearing up. Not sure how we’ll end up navigating them.
If Cristiano can go back to Manchester United, Khris can go back to Oakland Athletics.
Seth Brown -> COVID list
Daulton Jefferies called up.
I wonder if they will use him or Blackburn as a long man, or go to a 6-man rotation. The latter would make sense to me, as they could probably all use a little extra rest at this point, and there is no longer an ace that we want out there every fifth day anyway.
is that the second?
not great, but not bad
Why can’t piscotty go to the 60 reinstate Kris and call him up instead of jeffries whow can come up wednesday
DFA Moreland. But yes your point stands.
Canha dropped to 7th, Tony Kemp leading off. Since Cole’s walking 1.9/9 I figure Kemp gets three tonight.
I try to not wish misfortune on even bad people. I don’t always succeed, but I try. I don’t even take any consolation on COVID thinning the herd of idiots. But it’s a good thing my local bubble of rationality keeps me away from loud antivaxxers because I quite possibly could end up in a fistfight or jail.
Nurse Upgrade’s ICU is filling up with COVID patients again. They are of course all unvaccinated. Now an unvaccinated nurse, who travels weekly in from AZ for the better pay, has exposed the entire night shift at a hospital that is already desperately understaffed from waves of resignations. Better stock up on your first aid supplies and watch some Youtube video on home trauma care because if you need hospitalization for anything you may be in trouble. And this is here in the safe-ish Bay Area. Less safe than you think though. I can’t imagine parenting school-aged kids right now, deep respect to those of you who are living it.
I’m tired of my heart being numb from scar tissue after breaking so many times. What I feel most right now is rage, and that’s not helping.
Just get the fucking shots or be banned from society.
Likewise from me to the medical professionals and their families.
(I mean, except for that unvaccinated nurse. WTF?)
Thanks for that. The emotional toll is substantial. Also its hot and the air is gross and the A’s are sucking so I’m getting my grumpy out before my nurturing role re-starts at 8.
Apparently the “be vaxxed or tested 2x/wk” rule is being interpreted as self-certify that you got tested twice. This idiot even worked while showing symptoms. It will not surprise you to learn that the Venn diagram of nurses who won’t get vaxxed and nurses who are married to cops is a perfect circle.
Oh my god. I am so sorry. I can’t even imagine how stressful that is. And how enraging to be put in this situation by our hideous society. Covid has once again brought to light how low those in power will stoop to stay in power and how truly selfish and moronic humans can be.
UnFKingbelievable.
Marin County teacher too.
For the record, I also try not to wish misfortune on Giants players.
This better expresses how I feel on the subject.
It says what I feel.
What gets me is just how nonsensical some of the logic is. You don’t want to get vaxxed because you don’t want to put “unknown chemicals in your body”. But you’re perfectly willing to pump yourself full of everything unproven from hydroxychloroquine to ivermectin?
I really shouldn’t be surprised anymore by the dangerous mix of weaponized ignorance and sheer hubris afflicting a significant portion of the population these days.
It’s truly impressive the lengths that people will go to, up to and including death, to avoid facing up to the fact that they were wrong about anything.
I knew there were these people out there. Hell, look at the recent measles outbreaks. What gets me is we’re now looking at fully 1/3 of our population. How on Earth do we get good government when a third of the population are raging idiots? Let alone public health. I used to think leaving the US wasn’t a real idea in my mind, but I might seriously consider it in 10 years the way things are going.
We’re truly into an age of anti-rationality, in size and intensity beyond anything I ever thought possible. As andeux says, these folks are committed to it up to and including their own deaths. It’s reaching a point of existential threat on a par with nuclear war or the climate change tipping point. Probably all at once.
It feels very fall-of-Rome to me most of the time. They have enough power to govern, and they deny COVID even when loved ones die.
WTF, the umps are checking Manaea after he warmed up but before first pitch? That is fucking insane, and also dangerous. Now he’s going to pitch using Cole Irvin’s glove.
??? I guess? Maybe the umpire has a package of those color cards you see at the paint store?
And as Ken and Vince speculated, Aaron Boone may have been behind it.
I guess throwing the first pitch of the game up and in after that isn’t really Manaea’s style.
I didn’t expect to spend a half inning looking at paint samples. I believe the color of Manaea’s glove is actually “Ocean Wave” which is in the 14 series, the lightest allowed. One could possible argue that fading has made the glove a little lighter than that.
If Ed were here I imagine he could tell us exactly when Sean started using that glove. Gotta be at least three years
all this year. i think last year was light tan with green lettering and stitches
Lowrie doesn’t make that play.
Lowrie doesn’t even get close enough to leave his feet on that play.
Krush Homer’s for the 5th straight game. Let’s make sure that we are really competitive in the AAA West. It isn’t even the PCL anymore-at least then there would be some history..
I forget about this on the day to day but the demise of the old minor leagues is just so sad.
It really is. And it seems so pointless. Keep the name. I mean we know MLB gives 0 shits about history, etc but fake it a bit for me.
So Oly must have missed his protection payment tonight to the 3rd base ump. Also, baseball rules are stoopid.
Please Giancarlo don’t hurt ’em. And by ’em I mean the concrete.
There are a few college football games tomorrow, with Fresno State and UCLA both in action. Plus some golf. I’d rather flee sports entirely and do something energetic outdoors but I’ve barely wandered out into the smoke since I returned from Oakland Tuesday night and there’s no reason to expect it will be better tomorrow or for several days ahead for that matter.
You’ve had some of the worst sustained Purple Air #s I’ve ever seen. If Little League doesn’t grab you there’s also a really deep race card at Saratoga tomorrow, with a six G1 stakes.
This looks bad:
Plausible, and the wind the next couple days is a real wild card. To this point that fire has been burning below 6000 feet, and to climb to the Sierra crest it now has to cross more thinly-vegetated areas including some large areas of granite slabs which create some natural firebreaks. The new mandatory evacuation of everything south of the airport does look justified.
The Cal Fire evacuation order this morning extends all the way up to Ski Run, which is about 1.5 miles from the casinos. I know it’s the “err on the side of caution” stuff because of the population center, although there’s nobody here who doesn’t have to be here; it reminds me of those first couple months of Covid last spring when everything was closed. The fire’s progression has been west to east and it would have to hang a hard left to affect anything past the airport. Anyway I’ve mentally inventoried what will get boxed up and put in the car in anticipation of getting our own evacuation warning/order, and regardless of the unlikelihood of a direct threat to where I live a possible power shutoff would drive me out.
I could envision problems with the route of escape, should 89 along the west edge of the lake also get closed and all the Californians have to retreat through Nevada.
All of California’s South Shore is now under evacuation order. Nevada side roads are now one-way leaving South Shore, and looking pretty busy on the traffic cams.
I did upload a full fresh set of photos of everything inside the house. I don’t believe there’s any imminent danger, but if I choose to or am ordered to leave I wouldn’t be able to come back for at least several days and who knows how the situation might change.
This is not good for Christmas Valley as it’s on the Tahoe side of the Sierra crest. Fortunately the wind is dead calm this afternoon which is a lot better than the forecast said. I’m staying at home tonight and will evaluate in the morning.
The firefighters trying to save Berkeley’s other family camp had to retreat. It’s also also on the east side of the summit.
If I get an evacuation order, I assume I won’t be able to return for at least 5-7 days and maybe quite a few more. I do not want to dump myself into anybody’s house for an indefinite stay. Think I’ll load up the car with my stuff and head up to Bellingham, WA which I’ve enjoyed before and is on the list of possible post-Tahoe locations. Why not take the opportunity to give it a test drive for a few days.
You’ve got a spot in Berkeley if you need it.
Same-though why you would drive all the way down south is beyond me. Hoping for favorable conditions so the only movement you need is out to the deck.
Thanks, but nah, money isn’t a problem, I would much rather turn it into an impromptu vacation than move into somebody’s house. Morning evaluation is, I have enough food to stay for a while even if everything is closed which it must be because I don’t think anybody can get to work, and there’s no immediate danger from fire but TBH there’s no point in staying. Air quality is horrible, like a foggy morning, and there’s nothing to do except sit in the house. So I think I’ll take my time today, pack for a 10-day vacation and box up a few other things that will fit easily in the car, with the notion I’ll probably leave tomorrow.
after 53 years in prison, the 77-year-old inmate’s fate is now in the hands of california’s governor.
Marte scores from 1st on a single. Nice.
I like the bullpen
outs are better
We never seem to do well when the other team hits a bunch of balls over the fence and we don’t.
Hmm. You ever work in a front office?
I had a window once.
Dickhead
looks good enough.
Can he start tomorrow?
I wouldn’t pitch to olson either
Bip Roberts seems like a nice guy. This is the primary association he brings to mind. But he offers no insight and should not be allowed in the broadcast booth.
you have to have a game plan
Guys something broke..the scoreboard has a bigger number on the OAK line.
wormhole moment was the replay review
I prefer this universe so far.
right?
Has someone checked the 3B ump for sunstroke?
Traditionally, when this team loses six in a row it wins 14 of the next 15.
the challenge system sucks. A “call stands” should not cist you a challenge.
that said
yay!
So now both teams can’t challenge because this crew is being comically bad. Seems fair.
oof.
It seemed like randazzo is aware of the situation
NYC umps are hung over. “Just let us sleep it off..Jeez.”
I know it won’t happen, but a full season of this Marte would be wonderful.
velasquez
ACAB
that’s what you get COP!
I am watching TV today, because nothing else has worked. i don’t like that I can’t figure out the inning by just hearing the voice and knowing the time
Glad they are letting Good Frankie go out for the 7th.
Now I want Frankie Magic to start the 8th.
The Little League games are over, the horse races are over, guess I’ll tune in to the other thing.
I also want 1 of those yellow shirts.
OK, Chafin back out for the 9th. I just don’t want any of the normal 9th inning options we have used.
Never fear, our most consistent reliever gets the ninth.
We need to start playing doubleheaders
HUGE EXHALE
Never in doubt
I haz relief.
Yay for a win, so at least we don’t have to see would-be Yankee janitors in the ballpark tomorrow. But can someone explain the play from last night when Olson struck out and though the catcher dropped the ball and he ran to first, and it looked like it would be first and third with Marte taking advantage, they called him out anyways? Being at the game with no radio or tv, and I haven’t been able to find anywhere yet where it explains why they didn’t allow the run to first.
The ball hit him, but they ruled he swung.
So it was a K because he swung, and then a dead ball (no advancing to 1st on the dropped third strike) because it hit him.
OK, I can see that. It seemed like at first he was going to just trot to first thinking it hit him, and didn’t start running until he realized they called it a strike. Thanks for the explanation.
Pedro Martinez just said that Frankie Montas is ready to duplicate Pedro’s 1997 Cy Young season.
Manchester united just subbed #7 on
Long hair, so unstylish.
He won’t be #7 for long.
espn thinks high strikes aren’t getting called
12 pitches.
not that anyine will get a third AB against him
Nice escape act!
Shocked at no mention of Scott Brosius among the A’s + Yankees legends.
I mean it’s right there in elcroata’s sigline.
mike gallego
Billy Butler.
I mean they mentioned Ruben Sierra and Luis Polonia.
have we talked about this?
I missed the first few batters while relishing the exciting golf playoff, and the many chances Bryson DeMerdechapeau failed to cash in.
His surname is really shit-hat?
This is your periodic reminder that MLB blackout rules and ESPN SNB are stooped.
I guess it gives me a chance to KK and Vince while I go pick up missing school supplies at Target.
Red Sox lose on an obstruction call where the runner, ya know, kept running after being obstructed.
You can do that?
is there a fire in the bill king broadcast booth?
Note to play-by-play guy: the warning track in left is not “the Mt. Davis area.”
A-Rod with lots of nice things to say about Oakland baseball, accompanied by a shot of EM with her drum.
Thanks, ARod. We are intelligent and gritty, aren’t we.
national air time for english major
Somehow we won an important replay review?
Didn’t even look clear to me on the replays they showed.
The replay officials work in mysterious ways.
it was tight
I know, replay not obvious, while facing NYY, on ESPN…not a recipe for justice.
not a bad idea to pitch around gallo
Sure, spend an entire inning talking about the Mets.
Hey, they mentioned Diekman’s dominating fastball…
I like using rizzo here
Gotta be kidding me.
Four A’s misplays so far. Wild pitch, Gomes drop, Chapman error, no cutoff on throw from OF.
I can tell there’s a playoff atmosphere tonight because the A’s are choking so hard.
Tough but fair.
just score 6
If you only score 1 run against the Yankees you probably should score some more.
Elvis is so terrible.
Argh
Wish I was in the front row chatting with Rickey.
@gm, wish Rickey were pinch hitting soon.
Really enjoying ESPN’s shit production work turning the A’s pitchers’ jerseys into half kelly and half forest green.
Yeah, stupid ad projection interprets the jerseys as part of the green screen.
Deolis Guerra quietly elevating himself into the good half of the bullpen.
Their center Gardner is annoying.
Yes, annoying in all the usual ways faux tough guys in NYY uniforms are, plus his freakishly large bald head.
KONY TEMP!
Canha double, Kemp homer, definitely saw that coming.
what a tremendous inning
That win was so incredibly unlikely.
But that’s why they play the games
It’s nice that baseball season has at least a little bit of life in it yet.
NOT DEAD YET!
I really love the starters wearing the BP shirts
@Ed they need to be for sale.
absolutely
so, on the twitter account, that as a reminder whomever wants to post A’s relate content, go ahead, I have stolen some comments from here, I almost stole gms “playoff atmosphere” but it was too good of a joke to take credit for, i followed anyone who i see that post A’s stuff.
it is a lot different than my account which is A’s professionals nation bb pros, housing twitter, politics and legal stuff and comedy. So I am noticing more things coming through the timeline that people I follow like. Including someone who keeps liking sexy women pictures. It throws me off a bit, then I remember I am not going through my feed
anyway, if you feel like posting something there, please do
what’s the handle?
@freekraut
password available upon request
Sounds about right.
@Ed, yeah I’ve been messed up a few times seeing someone Comment something funny, going to like it, and realizing it was the FK feed and I would be liking our own comment.
And thanks for keeping it running. I like to see reactions and relaughing at the good stuff.
tbh I mostly forget F.K. Salon twitter exists, then when I’m reminded it makes me happy.
I’ve been enjoying all the appreciations for Ed Asner, defined the role of boss for every actor who followed, but even more, a wonderful human. This is a good one from the Hollywood Reporter; here’s another from Sepinwall.
I did not previously know this:
Ex-A sighting of the day: Yairo Muñoz, starting at 2B for the Red Sox.
I also think the Rays’ starting pitcher, Luis Patiño, is using a #14 Ocean Wave glove. This is not the umpiring crew we had in Oakland though.
The ranking of Fonzie’s relatives that we needed.
Ridiculous
Here comes the cavalry, such as it is.
If that is the cavalry we may want to shoot their horses.
For the 28th man, I’d rather take an upside gamble on KD, but sure lets give Bob a 14th pitcher that he’ll maybe use twice next month.
And I think all you have to do now is move Piscotty to the 60 day IL so it really isnt even a burden.
Allen as 27th man makes sense just to get Bob comfortable with a Murphy+Gomes lineup. Normally I’d be on board with the other guy being a pitcher, but since those pitchers are bad, I’d prefer KD.
Our DH going on the IL is a perfect opportunity to add a pinch runner to the roster.
this is fucking bullshit
If Bolt was some AMAZING glove and legs…maybe… But is that 2% upgrade worth anything?
15th pitcher. Already have 14.
Holmes was supposed to be the stud of that trade but he looks like he has washed out at AAA.
I understand I am supposed to receive an official Evacuation Order momentarily. Fortunately the packing is just about done. I’ll check in when I can.
Crap. Good luck.
I hope you can get out without too much traffic hassle and find a good place to go for your impromptu vacation.
There’s hardly anybody left up here anyway. There won’t be any problem getting out. Bellingham was the idea of the moment last night but man that’s far. Going to a motel out in lovely Fallon, NV tonight and figure it out from there. I’ll probably just do a nomad thing. Possibly the Cal game Saturday night.
Bellingham sounded cool, I was vicariously happy for you. Good times and safety where ever the wind takes you.
Bellingham is cool. college/timber town
Bellingham would definitely work. I have outgrown the downtown scene which is for the 20- and 30-somethings, but there are neighborhoods that would be a good fit. Lots of parks and trails in town and in the immediate vicinity, the Cascades just to the east, a major metropolitan area very close by but nicely separated by the international border (meaning this is a distinct city and not some outlying bedroom community). And fantastic weather! On September 6, anyway, maybe not on 275 days of the year, but that helps keep prices down at least some.
I was wondering how I would ever get this far north to actually inspect the place for a couple days for potential residence. Not great how it happened but it wound up being a worthwhile trip, and a good entry on the list when the time comes.
August – sept are absolutely gorgeous in the PNW/PSW
Of course you know if you go to the Cal game you can park in our driveway.
I might do that next week. Stockton, Modesto and San Jose are all home this week so I think a little minor league baseball is in order for tomorrow night at least. All California national forests are closed but there are hikes in the Bay Area I haven’t done in years. Then Cal on Saturday night (sslinger, sounds good, please remind me of your address; gonealookin at geemail). If it looks like this is going to stretch out to 10 days or more which is what I expect, then probably up in to Oregon and Washington.
I know others have offered but if you need a pitstop or a place to crash on the way to the bay, I’m in Rocklin.
Thanks. After sleeping on it, I had it right the first time and FSU is right. Don’t fall into time-killing mentality, instead use the opportunity to do some different and interesting things. And productive in the case of Bellingham so that’s where I’m headed over the next couple days.
Also now that I’m out of the smoke for the first time in a while, dammit does everything I own smell like smoke. Yuck. Without air conditioning I had to have the windows open at least some of the time. I’ll probably be smelling smoke for quite a while.
Left in plenty of time to make it to Berkeley for the game Saturday.
The bears and the cops have taken over.
8 days later, Chateau Soaker has reopened for business. There haven’t been any looters, either human or ursine, and the clocks aren’t flashing so there’s not even moldy cheese in the fridge to deal with.
The bears didn’t turn the tables on Goldilocks?
Gross, man.
0-5 w/RISP after 2 innings.
2-7 is ok
