I can’t stop wondering
Just what you got
Get the feeling I’m gonna find out real soon
…
Well you know it’s gonna get stranger
So let’s get on with the show
The night games start early, Ed.
Tonight at 6:10: Luzardo !!! vs. Lance Lynn
Wednesday at 6:10: Manaea vs. Kyle Gibson
Thursday at 12:40: Fiers vs. Mike Minor
Bob, not quite practicing his usual “go with the Hot Hand” preaching, sits Khris against the righty tonight despite Khris’ legendary destruction of the Rangers (career 1.038 OPS with 32 HR in 316 PA, though that slipped some due to a .643 OPS in 79 PA in 2019). We’ll see the same umpiring crew as in Seattle, which is unusual and something that’s normally deliberately avoided by MLB because shit just builds up.
Adding a video of the song…I loved Brent’s harmony and belting out “Long, long, crazy, crazy night!” on this one, but any version of a song that has Bruce on accordion is worth a visit.
What I discovered Blew. My. Mind. -- Pat Boone
Luzstartdo
Not one of my favorite Dead songs I confess.
If the A’s offense would do something interesting I wouldn’t wander back to this. Nobody ever covers a Bob song, that’s all Garcia/Hunter.
Top 5 Bob songs:
Sugar Magnolia
Jack Straw
Estimated Prophet
Saint of Circumstance
Cassidy
Next 5 (alphabetical rather than ranked):
Hell in a Bucket
I Need a Miracle
Playing in the Band (this too often dissolved into aimless noodling)
The Music Never Stopped
Truckin (I like it but it became too much of a cliche and it didn’t seem like they worked very hard on it, much like UJB)
Wow, my list is almost totally different:
Weather Report Suite, Estimated, PITB, Other One, Black-Throated Wind, Jack Straw, Throwing Stones.
If we include covers Samson&Delilah might make it somewhere in there.
I also have kind of a weird soft spot for some of the later Weir songs that everyone else hated like Picasso Moon and Corrina (maybe FSU likes that one too).
At least you didn’t say Victim or the Crime. Let It Grow and The Other One could be included. I wasn’t talking covers.
Also I am going mostly by 60s/70s shows. By the time I was seeing them, The Other One was not that exciting.
I mostly liked the Bobby songs that stomped, so Jack Straw and The Other One and Throwing Stones, and Sugar Mags #1. Was not a particular fan of the slow croons.
This ballot is a little weird because it’s a list of songs on Grateful Dead studio albums. So for example Sugaree isn’t there (Jerry solo album) nor Days Between (never recorded), but it’s cluttered with some garbage like France. And there are some covers thrown in. Some of my friends will give me the stink-eye for leaving off psychedelic era stuff like Dark Star and St. Stephen, but in alphabetical order I went with:
Attics of My Life
Box of Rain
Brokedown Palace
Candyman
Casey Jones
China Doll
Estimated Prophet
Eyes of the World
Friend of the Devil
The Golden Road to Unlimited Devotion
Help on the Way/Slipknot/Franklin’s Tower
Morning Dew (aaaah a cover but “essential”)
Ripple
Scarlet Begonias
Shakedown Street
Sugar Magnolia
Terrapin Station
Truckin
Uncle John’s Band
Weather Report Suite
I think we have very few duplicates but I like your songs too! I love Blues For Allah so I had more than just Help/Slip/Frank, like all the other songs. Black Peter. West LA Fadeaway. China Cat. Others. I think the contribution they have made to music is not just their improvisational approach to performing, but the songwriting that always underpinned all of their musical efforts. The great songs are what keep bringing young people to the music, and the songs allow them the freedom to re-make the songs in the performers’ image.
A good reminder that Jerry was capable of some all-star caliber playing even in his decline years, especially when Hornsby was in the lineup with him.
December 1992 through this summer 1993 tour is their final good run. I saw more shows after that but they’re mostly best forgotten.
Last shows I ever saw were May 1995 in Portland OR. With Chuck Berry! 2nd of 2 of the days was smoking hot.
Oh for fuck sake they have a Marlins Man cutout in diamond level.
meh
That was a lovely first inning Jesus.
Fun discovery: Casting the MLB.tv tab on your browser to a TV screen gets rid of MLB.tv’s repetitive commercials.
He makes me imagine like a little kid.
@lc, can you also get the radio audio feed to go with video.
Yup, the radio feed is a split second ahead but a lot better than it was.
Need to set this up. My Fire doesnt give me audio options if I choose to watch the game.
Damn, the fastball to Oly.
Lance Lynn makes me feel less bad about myself physically.
Maybe don’t mash the cheer button when the home team hits a routine double play ball.
As Ken and Ray mentioned the “Seat Fleet” in Seattle was much quieter than the cutouts in Oakland and I liked it better that way.
It was way better. Especially because it let us hear how happy the dugout was for Khris.
The thing about Luzardo is that he’s almost never pitched past 5 innings his entire professional career. So it’ll be an adjustment in the majors when he has to go through lineups 2, 3 times through the order.
Yes but I can totally see guys coming up a third time vs Jesus and still having no clue what’s coming.
That “virtual advertising” on television is getting more and more pervasive. It’s especially annoying in golf when somebody is putting and there’s a billboard card sitting right on the green.
Why are we challenging this?
radio said the phone was down
Tough choice between paying the phone bill on time and being able to afford snacks for the bullpen.
i thought the soda machine money went toward the phone bill.
welcome to oakland.
Some runs would be nice now.
Lynn’s really dealing.
Remember that time when the A’s scored a bunch of runs in an inning?
Wooo
Chappy!
Canha gives great at bat.
Currently sporting a nifty .500 OBP
Man-Chap
Hurrah for the stadium sound booth for dropping a chorus of Curtis Mayfield’s divine Move On Up as the A’s advance on the misplay.
For all our complaining about Beaneforst’s decisions on spending in the bullpen, right now the A’s appear to have the best relief staff in the division by a pretty fair margin.
Great inning from Soria. Not nibbling like last time.
Not really buying Edinson Volquez as a great bottom of the ninth hold ’em in a tie game guy.
Yeah the Rangers bullpen is not good but hard to imagine there’s not a single better option than 50 year old Volquez.
Now go out and get a 2B.
Braden couldnt help but drop the “NICE” on the 69mph curve.
Im going to sue MOB network for Putting Return of the Mack into my head daily.
Marcus seems about as sold on that bunt attempt as I am.
kemp is a speedster, no?
A little concerned about the Hendriks – Gallo matchup.
not a problem
nid
They should take down the extra protective screens behind the dugouts. I would love to see some left-handed hitter rip FSU’s cardboard head off with a screaming line drive.
I’d like to see that too.
canha has seen 25 pitches per vince
Surely they can’t FK this up, right?
don’t call them Shirly
I know you..you’re Kareem Abdul-jabbar!
Have you ever been in a Turkish prison?
No, I guess not
Yay!
Almondy good walkoff!!
That one carried.
Yeah, I was figuring sac fly or maybe a double as the OF was playing so shallow, but it just kept going!
Well
Walk off grand slam! Again.
Whats the record for walk off grand slams in a season?
It’s pretty amazing. I was at the Coliseum for this one which was one of the somewhat infamous 14-inning complete games.
There were more cutouts in attendance tonight than fans at that game.
Good lord. No wonder Mike Norris’ arm fell off.
per townsend nobody has 3
I would have expected further back than the 2018 Cubs (1) (2) (H/T Chris Townsend)
Down by 2, and down by 3, and both with 2 outs.
Ours were sac flies that carried.
I thought it was funny that the center fielder tonight gave serious chase.
In hindsight that should have been my first reaction, but the chase made it a more exciting play and I read it that way.
Two walkoff grand slams on the first pitch by a new reliever. Crazy.
I just noticed that the Xs made from red tape in the dugouts are gone. I never did figure out whether you were supposed to sit on those or not sit on those, and neither did the players by the looks of it.
We have those in my court.
You are not supposed to sit there
lawyers have not figured it out either
It makes sense that it is a “dont sit here” but in theory you could do either one as long as it was done consistently I think. And that’s probably the problem-no one specifically says it, half the people think an X is a no the other half think x marks the spot.
I think the A’s just declared war on Schnitzer Steel.
Apparently the backstory is that over a year ago:
I guess enforcing environmental regulations can cut both ways.
I was playing softball one Saturday in West Oakland when one of those Schnitzer Steel fires happened, produced a horrifyingly dense acrid column of smoke. That place is a menace, and note this A’s suit neatly aligns with goals of West Oakland enviro activists (who the A’s cited contra Sierra Club recently).
Schnitzer isn’t really the opponent to watch here though. The power is the “collection of unions,” and the real solution will be the A’s committing to a Project Labor Agreement for ballpark construction, which will also help a lot in clearing whatever final hurdles the Oakland City Council creates.
Huh. I agree with both sides!
“suing with alleged altruism” is a fun turn of phrase.
It is transparently motivated by cynical self-interest, but may still be a good thing on its own merit.
The civil litigator’s sweet spot.
Marcus Thompson shows why Schulman’s take is empty cynicism:
Kaval is going to be on the game broadcast tonight, third inning on TV and presumably on radio as well. That will be a Mute Button inning here. I don’t need the preaching about how they’re doing this out of concern for the well-being of the community of color in West Oakland.
I’m hopeful that Kaval isn’t quite that transparently insincere.
Well, I turned A’s Cast on a little early and that was his talking point with Townsend.
It’s pretty tough to swallow. I haven’t read the whole court petition yet, but I note that their argument for being a party with a “beneficial interest” (i.e. that they have standing) is that they are planning to build a ballpark next door, and their front office operations are pretty close already, and they don’t want their employees and future customers to breathe toxic fumes. He should be upfront with that while also saying it’s just the right thing for a community that the A’s are going to be a part of wherever they build in Oakland. No need to admit that it’s a pressure tactic, but also no need to pretend they have turned into an environmentalist impact litigation shop.
Another interesting note on the petition: The A’s lawyers are the elite SF litigation boutique Keker Van Nest, the firm that represented MLB in the failed antitrust suit by San Jose.
Keker also repped MLBPA in a case arguing to keep steroid test results private. And he prosecuted Oliver North!
Silly as it sounds, having Keker on the A’s side makes me materially more confident that results will be achieved.
You also missed him referring to “cheapskate hill.”
My money is on Furd to be the first Pac-12 team whose football season implodes.
this is not fun to listen to in a bad inning
I didn’t mute the radio. It’s embarrassing.
vince almost tried to journalism but faded
He lacked consistency. Or confidence. I get those confused.
He started saying (paraphrasing) ‘you guys have and interest’ where he could have stopped and let Kaval answer, but then continued with ‘but that’s not what this is about”
House organ.
Trump will start his own cable channel after his election defeat, and Vince would be a solid hire as an interviewer on that.
“President Trump, your campaign seems to have the momentum of a runaway freight train. Why are you so popular?”
“Follow up for a friend: How great does it feel?”
This pitch is unreal.
Seriously I have had to watch that maybe 5 times to actually be able to track it. And that is after seeing where it ends up the 1st time.
That amount of horizontal break just doesn’t seem real.
i think one of the cutouts flinched.
I’m home working , there are a few games I could put on in the background, but my kid is downloading updates and I don’t want to hog any bandwidth.
There’s a prominently placed Connie Mack cutout at the Phillies park, where for some reason the Phillies are the away team.
Away team wearing home whites.
The ballfield in the sun looks fantastic though.
It looks like this is the first of an (ersatz) doubleheader with the Phillies at “home” in the second game.
The Phanatic clowning with a vehicle-mounted hot dog cannon is a nice touch
YES Network just showed fans who are looking in through the gates of park. Interesting that the Phillies didn’t block that off like the Giants did.
Some of the people out there are playing drums, and it is coming through clearly because there is no fake cheering. I love it.
The Phillies are busy today. Looking at the schedule, Philadelphia at Miami is “postponed”, Philadelphia at New York is underway and New York at Philadelphia is scheduled as a “Game 2”. And I thought split-squad days in spring training were crazy.
The Yankees, Orioles and Marlins are also going for the home game-road game-postponed game trifecta today.
Every time I hear about someone being “optioned to the alternate site” I imagine a CIA rendition or something.
Looking at the schedule, we have four games in Texas and one in Houston that start at 6:05 or 6:10 pacific, meaning 8:05 or 8:10 local time. Maybe a TV tradeoff for the games in Oakland starting at 6:05 instead of 6:40? Seems like a better deal for us.
That was dictated by MLB. Since we’re playing the games for TV rather than for the live attendance, there was no need for games in Texas to start at 5 p.m. Pacific or for games on the West Coast to start at 9 p.m. Central. Since the Rangers and Astros are two time zones away from every other team they’re playing except the Rockies, they had to give a little bit more.
yes
Given Texas August weather (e.g. Houston is still supposed to be at 87F at 8 PM local time tonight) later starts might be better anyway, though I guess they also both have retractable roofs now.
Scherzer out after 1 inning.
I’m not gonna say this makes Joe Biden look cool. But Donald Trump wishes he could ever be made to look one-tenth as cool as Biden with his ‘Vette.
Now THIS makes Biden look cool.
I was bummed it wasn’t a video of him taking Major to the vet.
choo choo choose home runs
I just got back from the time hop in the last thread. Whoa. I forgot how that all went down.
I’ve certainly made my share of mistakes online, as some commenters here would say pretty quickly, probably including you. I’m still far from perfect but at least with more experience I’ve been able to avoid involvement in those sorts of big blowups in the recent past.
Isn’t that INSANE? I missed like three innings of baseball reading that.
Neither Olson nor Chapman does mustache very well.
Not that I care particularly if Olson does more of that.
I think the stache is here to stay.
Man, Olson crushed that.
Ray: need to hit and run in a short season, it will carry over!
next pitch to olson HR
ray: See!
Early verdict: streaming on iHateThatname works much better than on TuneIn.
oh my. i thought it was just me that hated tune in
i use at bat
are you referring to former clear channel rebranded as redtops?
The A’s crowd sound people are not good at their job
who is this superstar “frasier” fosse keeps talking about?
I’m glad the Rangers keep helping Manaea out.
Really getting tired of Manaea falling apart every 4th inning. It’s pretty clearly a stamina issue, his velocity is down and pitches are up this inning.
They should really just plan on some kind of tandem starter arrangement, maybe with Mengden.
I had completely forgotten we had Burch Smith
in line for the win again
I thought catcher was figured out
Starting to understand why the Padres were fine with trading Allen for Profar.
Huh
Meanwhile Profar is 3-for-36 for San Diego.
Ryan Sweeney was the guy who was immortalized in masking tape on the wall in Chicago.
The metrodome one was on the blooper reels
He was one of those guys who could hit monster home runs but wasn’t that good otherwise and had a funny nickname first name like buster of pow pow or donger or something
The opposite: he was big (listed at 6’4″, 225) but hit for average and almost no power.
did he have a funny nickname?
Sweakneee
Swingles
The zone is basically anything goes at this point.
As the radio guys were saying in that inning, this is 5-1/2 games in with the same umpiring crew so something’s probably going to happen. I’d hope they will bring in a different crew for the Astros series but the Giants are on the road this weekend so these guys can’t just go over to San Francisco.
Also tougher for the ump to ignore what is said from the dugout when there is no (real) crowd noise.
buy behind the plate tomorrow is the guy who was really bad first game in seattle
dammit bob, i wanted to get burch a win
Did you see that bob! come on bob
Nice launch angle kid!
I love the Strangers bullpen.
I’ve liked McFarland so far. He better not fuck this up
Great pitch to K Gallo.
Everything is going to be small sample this year. His historical resume is definitely “mediocre journeyman” but who knows, maybe the A’s can get a hot 35 innings over 3 months.
If my quick math is right TJ + Soria have a collective 0.80 WHIP so far.
I normally hate the MLB stuff they show between innings. But the just did a flashback of the Cespy throw in Anaheim.
Not sure if it’s the A’s or the Angels/Mariners/Rangers, but either way I’m feeling pretty good about our playoff chances. If the season gets that far, at least.
I’m on board with the national writers who are saying MLB will have to go to bubbles for postseason. They can’t have a team go down for a week then.
I almost think they need a week between each round. Let everyone reset and make sure no one is positive before they move on.
was thinking about that, I agree, I think NY and Bay area or la/oc/sd(?) chicago/mil would work.
I think I know who seven of the eight playoff teams will be: A’s, Astros, Twins, Clevelands, Yankees, Rays, White Sox. The eighth team…I guess one of the Angels, Blue Jays, Rangers, or Red Sox will back their way in.
Somebody odd like the Orioles will sneak in at 28-32. They will then beat the #1 seed A’s in the best-of-3 at Angels Stadium.
1 run game, bring in the guy with a 15.something E.R.A.
DieBBman for the 9th? Let me run to the store for some Marlboros.
I’m thinking Olson is a big fan of the new three-batter rule.
“Diekmann is ready out in the bullpen.” Shiver…..
And Soria keeps him there. Excellent.
13 game winning streak!
13.5!
Two roster cuts tomorrow according to radio.
Free Franklin Barreto, please. He deserves a chance to sink or swim somewhere else.
It doesn’t have to include a pitcher, yeah? Do they follow the option rules?
Brown and Barreto if so, but if they have to give up on barreto, ot it has to be a pitcher, kaprilian
The A’s have clearly already given up on Barreto. There’s no point in keeping him around into next March; they will be in the same position then. I don’t see Barreto having any real trade value whether now, over the winter or in the final week of spring training, so get him off the 40-man roster, get anything we can in return and move on.
If the A’s have any capability to take on salary at all, I would love to get Joc Pederson for Barreto. The Dodgers were trying to trade him for a similar player in Rengifo over the offseason, and the A’s are just missing one more left handed (good) bat.
and never see grossman again?
It really wouldn’t be much salary at all, just the prorated portion of $7.5 million with no commitment beyond. But I’m sure they won’t take even that on with no gate revenue coming in. Also of relevance, Kaval confirmed yesterday to The Athletic that the A’s dropped out of revenue sharing this year as scheduled.
Korach said in the postgame that there are no limits on how many pitchers can be on the 28.
Beane/Forst read FK
So does Craig
correction: *correction
I don’t understand why they don’t expand the taxi squads at the same time. Let teams have as many AAA players plus prospects working out regularly in an actual bubble. Keep the prospects from losing a whole year and keep a bunch of guys in shape in the event of a Marlins scenario.
The Stros gave up a 9-run inning tonight. They may have issues.
Meanwhile the Mariners are trying to blow a 4 run lead to the slegnA. Trout with 2 more home runs.
slegnA lose. Somehow they’re sitting at 4-8 with their lineup and having faced the M’s for almost half their games.
mike trout is pretty good
One unambiguously great thing about 2020 is the Padres brown and mustard look. Just wonderful to have it back.
I don’t really know how much longer they can stick with Manaea in the rotation. Granted, if Puk isn’t going to start, I’m not sure there are any better options.
i’ve been thinking and, you know, if it wasn’t for the coronavirus keeping everybody homebound? this shortened season wouldn’t get nearly as much attention.
come on, man: unforced errors.
why do they keep putting out content for each other’s attack ads??
Lock this fucking guy in his basement already
SEE?? *ALL* THE CULTURES ARE MONOLITHIC.
Fortunately, Cintron denied it while hiding from the media. So that settles that.
Now this is a beef I’d like to learn more about.
https://www.sportingnews.com/us/mlb/news/ozzie-guillen-nick-swisher/htmdchp88n0m1g6obg0ym94nl
I can totally imagine Ozzie giving some insane, overly intense clubhouse speech after some meaningless game in May and Swish saying “fuckin A, bro” or something, and Ozzie never forgiving him.
I bet you’ll get your learning because Swish isn’t the type to ignore something like that.
Oh he’s definitely keeping the stache
Oly oly O!
Another data point in favor of Ken Arneson’s theory.
Ken Arneson is great, but he may be pressing.
Yay KD!
Mike Minor seems to be the one ace we always knock around.
Ace? He of the lifetime ~4 ERA, FIP and xFIP?
True, ace is generous considering his whole body of work. He did put up almost 8 bWAR last year though.
Yeah, but that was based much more on his ERA being a full run below his xFIP and his durability (he was Top 6 in IP), than it was on the quality of that pitching. Of 61 qualified starters last year, his xFIP was 45th.
Yes? Not disputing any of that, it essentially comes down to how much you value bWAR (and consequently, calculating off of their park effects, DRS, and RA9), vs fWAR (FIP, xFIP). I think this has been hashed around many times already – I personally value bWAR for pitchers a little more, but YMMV.
I’m on your side on the ERA vs. FIP for WAR debate, but still having a hard time wrapping my head around the idea that a replacement-level pitcher would allow 7.4 R/9, even in 2019 and with Texas as his home park.
It’s not really ERA vs. FIP debate. It’s more overvaluing of park factors debate. Minor had better bWAR than Cole, Verlander, deGrom…although they all pitched roughly the same innings as Minor did, had at least a full run better ERA than he did, and the former two pitched in the same division. They also all absolutely towered over Minor in strikeouts and bases on balls, and were equal or slightly better in keeping batted balls on the ground.
If you look at just the away games (I don’t really like using the splits that way, but we are just having fun, so why not), Minor had an excellent ERA (2.99), but again Cole and Verlander were better (2.36, 2.84 respectively) while pitching in the tougher environment by that standard (they had to pitch in Texas, Minor did not, other things being more/less equal).
Sure, I can live with that. And, now I’ve seen he led all pitchers in bWAR which… amazes me.
He’s a minor ace.
Hee

That was really scary for Ramon.
4 pitch walk to Jeff Mathis is enough to make me want to take Fiers out.
can’t let mathis beat you
Pitched around the guy hitting .400 to get to .143 and .211. Smart.
Why is Fiers still pitching.
I was just about to post:
I’m glad he made it through 5, and another inning with only 1 run is OK, but should Fiers really be out there for the 7th?
Sigh.
His swinging strike percentage is halved from last year (SSS caveats). Batters just don’t seem like they’re being fooled, and his stuff looks really bad to me.
He is not that good to begin with. 6 should be fine unless he has been really lights out
Eh, at the risk of sounding too cliché, the A’s do need someone in the rotation to be the innings-eater who saves the pen. Even a mediocre ERA and WHIP has value at 6+ innings.
Or we could go with my earlier idea of letting Petit pitch a couple innings in literally every game.
Every game…uh maybe not so much.
I’m glad Krush is doing well today. But a single that just sneaked past the glove of the 3B against the team he used to destroy should not be earning the praise that Glen was/is giving it.
the hard hit flyballs are also faintly praiseworthy. three of the flyball/line drive outs would have been majestic home runs pre pittsburg(h)
Along with the line drive single, he did also have a 105 mph lineout.
Jeff Mathis: Is he the worst hitter of all time with more than 2900 plate appearances? He has to be close.
Close, but he probably won’t catch Bill Bergen.
That guy must have called a hell of game.
Interesting that McFarland made his 3rd straight appearance today and not Diekman.
I never expect the A’s to get Choo out in any situation.
Well, there’s one situation.
Fortuitous!
Nice series. Now we get to see if we can keep it up once the big kids get tot he playground.
More than 24 hours until the A’s play again. You could do worse than enjoying some major championship golf from our own local muni course in SF. Highlight of day so far us Tiger randomly dissing the Giants.
Um, ryan? you are expendable remember
I’ll coach the bench over a Google Hangout if they need someone tomorrow.
D’oh
New bench coach Basil Fawlty
i gotta say i buy this. the body language when hendricks says something seems sincere. same as the apology.
meanwhile i’m certain miller is signaling, completely aware, when he does his OK lapel pulls.
Sure, he was preparing to karate chop a 50 foot giant on a thigh. What bullshit.
I don’t think a baseball team can have this kind of distraction on the field.
I don’t think it’s that big a deal. I don’t think it came from a bad place, just a stupid/awkward/ignorant place, and the apology seems heartfelt. I say let him keep coaching the bench.
My take also.
I don’t think he meant it seriously, but I’m not sure I buy that the whole thing was inadvertent either.
I think my bias is showing, but I think he wasnt thinking the 1st time and REALLY wasnt thinkging the 2nd time. The second was him going “OMG yeah now the world thinks I was doing a Nazi salute like this…”.
Either way I dont know how anyone can put there arm up like that and NOT have that click immediately. If he was dumped today I wouldnt shed a tear.
I just always assume that there’s a certain level of mostly benign cluelessness about the outside world associated with baseball lifers. They can’t all be thoughtful Cal guys like Melvin.
Yeah some are unrepentant asshole Cal guys like Jeff Kent.
(please no one mentoin bauer, please no one mention bauer, please no one mention bauer)
hey remember the time Bauer wrote 9/11 was an inside job or something on the mound with his cleat
Now the thing with the “Free Joe Kelly” shoes…Bauer keeps moving up on my Favorite Fuclans list. (Also I’m glad this matter with Christenson died out as quickly as it did.)
They’d be better if he hadn’t also criticized Kelly at the time.
That is awful. I assume it isn’t from a place of conscious white power belief (barring further revelation). But it needs a genuine reflective statement ASAP. I better not hear it was just a joke chill out.
I assume too, but I think the A’s have a bigger PR problem, so that might be bad for him
Having no fans may save his job
The FOX games are not blacked out on mlb.tv. That’s nice.
I don’t know who any of these Astros pitchers are.
I know most of us have moved beyond SBnation, but they’re replacing the one part of their platform that works really well, the commenting system, with well, this abomination.
LOL-I had to go look. I couldnt even see the comments for like 3 minutes. Looks exactly like I would think an SBN comment section should look.
Just seems insane to me that a collection of sports blogs who rely on live game thread activity would think it’s a good idea to adopt a commenting system that gets rid of live comment updating and z-key scrolling.
I saw someone in the comments say “what’s the Z key”. Clearly they dont game thread or they have a very difficult life.
How about that. Something has changed.
1st time for everything.
Maybe the other blogs don’t rely on game threads? I don’t know, most of the other SBN sites I’ve ever checked out have been fascist dystopias like HH or just ghost towns.
That was actuallycomments from several of the people in there. Im sure there are some that dont..
Nothing has changed.
Wow, that’s laughable
That’s so bad I’ve completely forgotten the argument I was having with the AN reactionary brigade about “cancel culture”
On a different subject, Khris is back in the lineup against Greinke (RHP) with Piscotty sitting.
Might be a good matchup with Greinke’s stuff if Davis has been struggling to catch up to fastballs.
that’s the last straw, Christiansen
Some bunch of drunk-at-the-time bros thought that would be epic when they paid back in January.
left field bleacher people. saw some solicitations on twitter
And they were RIGHT.
Thank God someone is doing something.
Looking forward to Ray’s take on Ryan Christensen.
Coaching is important, Dallas said that the Astros signing Dusty was the best move any team in MLB made all offseason.
