According to a source Monday evening, Major League Baseball (MLB) is set to report that their MLB Baseball Stadium Commission formed to evaluate the Oakland A’s stadium situation is going to recommend to MLB Commissioner Bud Selig that the Oakland A’s move to San Jose.

Isn’t that what we expected all along?
No. At least not at this point (see FSU’s comment).
What’s the over/under on Deuk Neukom’s payoff?
Also: Zennie demonstrates over and over again the meretricious combination of ossified journalistic formalism + amateur composition + no editor.
Whatever Deuk gets paid, it won’t come for at least a decade after it’s promised.
Zennie is certainly not crippled by a sense of his own unimportance:
What a useless dilettante.
What I hear is that the report will come out in mid-April, after opening day. And any San Jose recommendation will be theoretical…not so much “we think you should move them to SJ” as “SJ could be successful, IF you (MLB) decide that Oakland/Fremont aren’t viable, and IF you feel T-rights can be negotiated.” In other words, while the panel report might well lay more groundwork for a southern move, it will not explicitly say that’s what should happen.
Now that’s just what we need, actively marketing to the Red Sox & Yankees fan base so they can organize tours and rent all the luxury boxes when their teams come out here. As if those games aren’t insufferable enough already.
well, if we can confine them to the luxury boxes, it might not be all bad.
But yeah, as bad as the A’s marketing has been, it would sink to despicable Warrior-esque lows if they did this.
I’m gonna steal SJ’s census forms.
You can save them $100 each.
Slusser: “Zennie Abraham is an uninformed dilettante; my team and league sources say nothing’s immediately pending from the stadium panel.”
(Or at least that’s how I imagine SuSlu wrote it in the first draft.)
I would have gone with “Covering MLB is not a zero-effort job. Amateurs need not apply.”
Well done, SuSlu. Although…it’s easy to imagine the commission making way for a move to SJ.
There needs to be an addendum about how the info was received from Rotoworld.
