Are the A’s and Giants going to switch black and white tomorrow or is this the way it is for both games? They would have twice as many “game-worn uniforms” to sell on the Internet if they switch. I don’t know who would buy the white ones although maybe that one could be worn as sort of an inside joke at a baseball fan’s wedding.
Those 2 batters right there illustrate Bassitt’s problem. He can’t put away guys with a semi decent off speed pitch so he’s resorting to trying to throw his fastball past guys for the third strike. And by the third time through the order, hitters are ready for it.
I really dont see the purpose. I get that he just signed the contract blah blah blah. But I would think that it is best for everyone to admit something is wrong and we want to make sure he is fixed right.
It would have been nice to get him some “rehab” at bats in Vegas just so that he could watch the ball fly over the fence a few times. Too late for that though.
Rick Magnante, the longtime A’s scout and coach who managed the Lake Monsters in 2015, told [A’s scout Jimmy] Coffman that Brown reminded him of Kirk Gibson.
“Which is a good comparison because he does kind of have that football mentality,” Coffman said.
A’s DFA Nick Martini for assignment to make room for Seth Brown. Something of a surprise given his importance to the team last September. Others including Brown have passed him on A’s depth chart.
Martini’s fate was sealed when Grossman was signed and didn’t totally suck. And I guess if they need a lefty-hitting outfielder in a pinch, that’s Fowler’s job. It’s a shame, though. I really appreciated Martini’s ability to work a walk (also Grossman’s primary talent).
I don’t follow politics like I once did, too depressing (even before the ascension of Il Doofce). I was nevertheless unsurprised to learn that there’s a Congressman who got his start on MTV’s Real World.
"Kraut will get you through times of no money better than money will get you through times of no kraut."
Looking at the linked ratings list, KTRB does not appear (41 stations on the list, 7 of them AM). 3-4 hours/day of Ken and Vince must not be enough to offset the remaining 20-21 hours of right-wing babble.
The top three are talk but there are more music stations high on the list than I would have thought. My view of it is skewed because terrestrial radio barely exists at all where I live, but I thought most people had gone from commercial radio to streaming services for music.
come on guys
I want to see the reaction to the bat flip, but don’t want to watch the highlights
Usual Bumgarner sour face, but we’ll see what happens next time through.
Gotta flip the bat on players’ weekend.

I just turned on a game for the first time all weekend and thought some stole my Samsung and replaced it with a 1952 RCA Victor.
Bassitt looks really good.
he’s pitching well, nobody looks good tonight
Fair point.
My freakin’ ears!
This Hurtado guy can hit.
And field.
95 pitches or more runs please
It’s disturbing that we’re not winning this game by 6 runs.
Olson has looked really bad vs Bumgarner.
two 0-2 abs that lead to hits and a run

Ramon can’t come back fast enough.
old friend fernando abad
Not totally sure about giving away an out there but it worked out ok.
The shit show this inning seems like a direct rebuttal to Ray/Dallas waxing poetic over sacrificing an out for a run last inning.
Here we go.
Shit
Tbh, it’s a surprise to me anytime Petit gets outs on that 85 mph fastball.
Phegley gets a pass on the unblockable slider but the 3-2 fastball was probably strike 3 if he catches it.
I absolutely do not understand warming up Hendriks and not bringing him in for any situation here.
Man, this is ugly.
Dreams of a Lou renaissance may have been premature.
And that’s the capper.
Do you want to build a snowman…
jose ramirez, hamate bone. out for season
According to Hank Schulman in the Chron, today’s Giants pitcher grew up a big A’s fan and his favorite player was…Bobby Crosby??
Every pitcher’s favorite.
oh good, hermann coming out of the game
Next year every player should wear the nickname I’m With Stupid.
I’d like to say the uniforms couldn’t possibly be any worse next year, but never underestimate MLB.
NINE STRAIGHT BALLS OUT OF THE ZONE
GIDP on the first pitch you swing at.
Really?
Thanks, and go As.
The Bullpen Monster has emerged from under the bed again.
And I would have been fine with a 6-3 homestand last Thursday, but at this point if that’s what they settle for it’s a B-.
What a big ole faceplant of a weekend.
trienen? that was good?
That sucked.
This team sure likes to play to the level of competition.
Piscotty to IL. Martini probably back up.
“Admit that Khris is hurt and put him on the 60-day IL” comes to mind.

From the Athletic
Billy Owens makes the more palatable comp to Brandon Moss.
If he also has a real basketball mentality hopefully his comp isn’t Billy Owens.
I’m still not over that trade. Mitch was my favorite player.
The 40-man roster was getting outfielder-heavy, especially if that’s Pinder’s primary role going forward.

I’m always glad when the last game against San Francisco is behind us, almost regardless of the results. I never enjoy those games.

Oh yeah, he and his fellow Real Worlder wife were all over the podium at the last Republican National Convention. They are very gross.
I laughed out loud when I got to the bottom and saw what a “Melton Mowbray pork pie” looks like.
Stupid globalists keeping me from wearing my hat of choice. And uncured grey goes with every color jacket.
Wow, KFOG is dropping music and switching to a KNBR simulcast.
