The A’s enter a tough homestand trailing the Astros by 9.5 games in the division and down by 2 games to Tampa Bay (and 3.5 games to Cleveland) in the wild card chase. While the A’s play 4 vs. the Astros, 3 vs. the Yankees and 2 vs. the Giants, the Rays schedule over the same period is Tigers and Mariners at the Trop for 3 each, then 4 at Camden Yards against the Orioles. Perhaps Cleveland (at Yankees, at Mets, home vs. Royals) will stay within reach.
Tonight at 7: Mike Fiers vs. Aaron Sanchez
Friday at 7: Tanner Roark vs. Justin Verlander
Saturday at 1: Chris Bassitt vs. Astros TBA Rogelio Armenteros (game on FS1)
Sunday at 1: Brett Anderson vs. Zack Greinke
I didn’t go all the way to 85-inch Livermore Class, but tonight the new 65-inch set makes its debut at Chateau Soaker. The better to watch a full season of Cal interceptions, missed tackles and dumb penalties, and whatever pleasure or displeasure the A’s provide the rest of the year. The 46-inch version, which dates back to the original Cabin Soaker rental, and the Geren era, has been semi-retired to the bedroom.
The Twins are also still in sight, but after four in Texas, they go White Sox, Tigers, White Sox, Tigers. And then after a few competent opponents, they finish with 13 games against the White Sox, Tigers, and Royals.
Cleveland was the team that impressed me the least when we played them. I’m not sure how to explain their recent hot streak. Getting rid of Bauer?
ramirez?
Just got an email from the A’s saying that for Friday’s game they have added $5 of concession credit to every ticket.
So wanted to reply “Can I have $10?”
I see that term “K-Pop” for tomorrow’s fireworks, and I wouldn’t know anything about a musical style but it makes me think “what happens when Profar gets two at-bats”.
Were any of you included in the massive mass email Fail from ticket services Aug 14? An email about $10 concession credit being added to ticket for “your selected game” went to maybe 1000 A’s Access members to a fully public list of email addys. Followed the next day later by a “please ignore that email” request.
I didn’t get that one. I hope you sent everyone a link to freekraut.net.
“We’re not
capturing your keystrokespublishing your email address, honest.”I got the original but not the please disregard follow-up. I figured I got the email because I was at that game, and concessions were truly FKed up. But then I went to choose my game and got the message that the link had been taken down. Definitely some wires crossed somehow.
I didn’t get that, but now I look at mine the source address is “feedback@mail.mlbemail.com” which looks fishy.
Turns out it was legit, but only on the season ticket seats.
Pinder in center tonight. (Canha minor injury.)
why not, right?
No Korach tonight?
im not listening to a fosse pxp
Roxy is in the Townsend role tonight anyway (Townsend must be with the Raiders) so why on earth isn’t he doing 3 innings of PxP instead of Ray? Or if Roxy is in studio instead of at the park, then just have Vince do all 9, instead of this.
I was picking up Little Miss Aces and heard Fosse doing PxP.
Almost drove off the road to avoid it.
Whew, Ken is back tonight. I’m sure the Vince/Ray experience was partly responsible for my crabby reaction to all the homers.
Ray is a very poor play-by-play announcer, but I can live with him for a couple of innings once in a while as long as Vince is there to hold his hand. At least his voice doesn’t drive me crazy like Townsend’s does.
I wasn’t as bad as I anticipated, however, I think it was because the game was not complicated.
is it handegg season already?
Whatever shortcomings the A’s see in Pinder, the kid has great defensive instincts, just a natural.
It’s funny that he came through the minors as an infield prospect only for it to turn out that he is a born outfielder.
Oly!
Oly Oly Oh!
CoJo!
New guy!
Ball is carrying like crazy tonight
…which isn’t good for Fiers.
The Matts like it though.
Not sure about leaving him out for the 7th.
Of all the night games I’ve been to at the Coliseum, well over 1000* I’m sure, not many have featured 5 home runs through 5-1/2 innings.
Or 6 after one batter in the bottom of the 6th…
—
Edit: I’ve been to well over 1000 games there but thinking about the percentage of day games the A’s play, “1000 night games” is too high. Maybe 600-700 as a guess, the great majority of which were from my Cal student years to the 1994 work stoppage.

Did Chapman really mean the fences should be moved in? I hope he was kidding about that.
in?
Four guys hit two each, 5th time in MLB history.
But second time this season, naturally.
Corban-sanity!
I like profar. I like the way he smiles and has fun. He was first up and first to Joseph in the dugout.
I just wish he was better at baseball
It’s still hard to believe he’s only 26, he seems more like next year’s bench coach.
It seems to me that if someone could fix his fielding issues there’s a good chance the bat would follow. I don’t think there’s much chance the “someone” will be the A’s though.
I hope that someone is so convinced of that that they will offer more than a bucket of baseballs.
At this point, I’m expecting a non-tender.
Wash is still in Atlanta, yes?
Make it stop
Treinen against the heart of the order should be interesting.
that ended predictably
Why is DieBBman warming up?
I thought, good time to tell Treinen, sink or swim.
glub glub glub
he didn’t walk anyone?
I thought he pitched well.
Yeah the homer was a fine pitch, low and in with movement, Brantley just dropped the bat head and got it.
Sometimes you just have to tip your cap.
we’ve been getting carpel tunnel from tipping our hats
ASVD
6 more A’s home runs please
This is insane
Put Silly Putty in the core of the baseball, raise the mound to 20 inches, whatever. I don’t care for this at all.
Something like raising the mound might tilt things back towards pitching, but wouldn’t change the overall K+HR dynamic of the game. They really have to deaden the ball.
Same. Bring back the spitball.
The odd thing was, it was a well-played game aside from the 10 home runs (“but Mrs. Lincoln, how was the play?”). 2:35 time of game was T10 shortest for the A’s this year and T12 for the Astros. The last time I looked every MLB team was averaging over 3 hours, which is a different problem.
Time of game info being under “Miscellaneous Team Info” here, wherein it will also be seen that the A’s have the fewest successful challenges and the lowest successful challenge percentage of any MLB team.
the only bad play was the sanchez fielder’s choice in the 3rd
This. There were some fine defensive plays, few walks, and it was quick because no one was getting on base, just around them. Yes it was a warm night (delightfully so, I might add) but that wasn’t the factor in most of the homers – they were legit. Just kind of a crazy night at the Coli.
i went to this one. not quite as many HRs. but it was mid-50s.
https://www.baseball-reference.com/boxes/OAK/OAK200306110.shtml
Its like getting a costco pack of it its. One is special, 16 is a stomach ache
Apres longballs le deluge. I’ll take it.
Phegley’s back, and Garneau is DFA.
With Taylor gone as well, that leaves just two catchers on the 40-man roster, and the best non-roster catcher (Murphy) is injured. I guess Jonah Heim, who was in AA a month ago, would be rostered in a pinch.
Nobody goes with two catchers in September and it does not sound like Murphy will be the third. They must think they will be able to outright Garneau and call him back up on Sept. 1, which still requires something else to happen on the 40-man on that date, but three catchers on the 25-man is awfully limiting even for two weeks if an infielder or outfielder is out for a couple days.
PROFAR!!!
Anyone going to the game on Saturday? A group of friends and I are
In case A’s vs. Justin Verlander is something less than Must See TV, tonight is Bill Walton’s turn in the analyst chair on the White Sox broadcast of their game in Anaheim.
Tomorrow’s guest analyst is “Ken Tremendous” from Fire Joe Morgan.
significantly more interested in that.
Thanks, and go As.
More interesting about baseball and television, by far. Still though I’m sure Bill could smoke him under the table and still reject his weak drives to the hoop.
me too. i’d tune in if I wasn’t out
“Any time anybody passes Jeter statistically in anything, it makes me happy.”
Walton just asked if Leury Garcia is related to Jerry.
He also just, in third inning, asked the play by play guy what the score is (it is 0-0).
The White Sox scored and he blurted out “Yeah! Go Angels!”
I might be able to handle a couple innings of that but it can definitely wait until the A’s Monday off day.
He’s talking a lot about Dr. John right now. And he just asked what the score is again.
Right place, wrong time.
Must have been…
The play-by-play guy was on the Effectively Wild podcast, and he mentioned a particularly amusing segment in the Walton broadcast. They invited Lucas Giolito’s younger brother into the booth with them, who is currently studying theater in Wales. Walton asked the kid what high school he went to, and when he said “Harvard-Westlake,” Walton said, “oh, so you were born with a silver spoon in your mouth!”
The kid kind of clammed up after that. After he had left the booth, Walton said, “Do you think he’s really going to be an actor? He’s so shy!”
I can’t hear Tanner Roark’s name without hearing Matthew McConaughey over pronouncing “Row-Ark” talking to Sandra Bullock in “A Time To Kill.”
There is something wrong with me.
Joseph seems more than capable of throwing the ball to first. That’s really all I need at this point.
The fake stirrups look ridiculous on Roark.
I am ok with them. I also like the charcoal diamond back jersey
There’s just no way that doesn’t go out if KD was healthy.
Verlander looks unhittable. I literally cannot picture one of the A’s getting a hit.
Nice.
Roark does not have a lot of short at-bats. Lots of foul balls. Verlander doesn’t seem able to retire anybody on fewer than 3 pitches either though.
Damn that 2-0 pitch was perfect to hit.
GAH
I 1000% percent thought that was gone.
sound off and yeah. the way verlander jumped too
Let’s hope that glimpse of vulnerability is a sign of things to come. Both Semien and Olsen’s balls were way gone yesterday. And Chapman’s 2-0 pitch was quite hittable,
ptbnl sighting. Wearing white pants at the ballpark, a far braver man than I.
With a burrito too – but I got away with it.
Damnit, now I’m invested in winning this game.
double play?
we are missing laureano
Yeah he catches Brantley’s drive. I think Pinder does too.
Ramon is awesome and we’re obviously better if he’s back, but I’ve seen him miss nearly that exact catch at the wall more than once this year.
We’re missing his bat much more than his defense.
Hard to say Ramon would’ve hauled in Brantley’s double. And Canha just gunned out Guriel at 2nd.
The only way to score off of Verlander is homers, so good thing we do homers.
You know after you homer wasn’t pound town the previous stop?
I don’t now if Petit or Hendriks are available after pitching 2 days in a row cause of the Soria fiasco…this could get interesting.
Verlander: ND
They have to win here. Steal a win and keep the dregs of the bullpen from facing the top of the order again.
soria!
At least osuna threw a lot of pitches
walk bregman
Cant give them extra outs.
Especially with a gassed Soria out there and a gas can Trivino warming up.
The A’s JV bullpen team has pitched great tonight.
Very thoughtful of the ump to expand his strike zone for Soria in the 10th.
The strike two to Altuve was unimaginably bad. I don’t know that one could be missed.
That was quite a battle for survival. Bob doesn’t have any good options after the bottom of the 10th though.
FSU: they got their Verlander notes mixed up.
Tonight’s guest star: 2018 Sweet Lou.
We’re starting to get to the dregs of their bullpen.
I don’t know who those guys in green out of the bullpen are but I sure hope they’re here to stay.
I feel like the long suffering fireworks night crowd deserves some pie now.
The contact play, really?
We lead the league in guys out at the plate on contact plays.
They’re so so bad at scoring outside the home run.
I’m enjoying the A’s taking me to task for this comment yesterday.
It’s the Bizzaro A’s
Korach said that “the A’s are hitterish today.”
If you are going to run a contact play why dont you have a squeeze to the vacated right side?
Sadly, it occurred to me there that maybe Profar could have pinch-hit for Khris rather than pinch-run for him.
They just showed Liam Hendriks with a bat in his hand, presumably for when Profar’s spot rolls around in the 15th.
Let’s get Brett up 1st pls.
I don’t know why they think Corbin Joseph is the answer at 2nd.
Nor why they think that Piscotti shouldn’t be benched if they are going to bench profar.
I don’t think anyone considers Joseph “the answer” at second, but he’s worth a try as a stopgap platoon guy.
There’s definitely a case for benching Piscotty for Pinder, but I can see why they want to give Piscotty a chance to heat up like he did last season. When Laureano comes back, though, then there’s no choice but to bench him if he is still struggling.
Dealer: Trivino just got you to 20
BoMel: hit me
21!
this is still on?
Thanks, and go As.
This game HAS to be won for Lou.
Thank god
Won it for Lou!!
Whoo hoo!
Against a lot of odds, that was worth the wait. Enjoy some K-Pop, ptbnl.
The cruel twist will be after his 3 best innings of the year they will then send Trivino down to get an extra arm for tomorrow.
I am ok with that
No way this happens. I think beaneforst have learned they can’t so brutally clinical in their roster management, the A’s roster seem to like Lou a lot. I can’t imagine Melvin would get on board with it either.
I said after that Cubs debacle that they couldn’t keep sending him out to get clobbered and it was Vegas time. They didn’t send him to Vegas but Bob didn’t keep running him out either as last night was his first appearance since then. This was the most positive thing that has happened to Lou since April and the price of making it a fully constructive experience is being down two righthanders in the bullpen today and probably tomorrow.
Lou’s lengthy performances like last night and in the wild card game sometimes make me wonder if he couldn’t be a good starter.
Fun game – including bumping into salb on the field – but Davis just looks completely lost out there.
Global warming is not going to be helped by the takes from the end of city-tottenham
That felt like one of those overturns because the foot was off the bag for a split second in super-slo-mo only. Technically correct but I still don’t like it.
but so much more consequential
IMO, it shouldn’t have been overturned. It doesn’t meet the “CLEAR AND OBVIOUS ERROR” definition — if you have to look at multiple angles in multiple slow motion instances, it is not a CLEAR AND OBVIOUS mistake and whatever the call on the field was should stand.
Thanks, and go As.
I don’t mind VAR per se, but the new handball rules are ridiculous. The European Cup final and the Women’s World Cup were both much the worse for them.
The WWC was refereed poorly because the majority of refs were vastly inexperienced with matches on that big of a stage.
The huge push for female refs in the WWC was all well and good, but they did an absolute shit job at getting them into high level matches BEFORE the tournament so they wouldn’t be so bad during it.
Thanks, and go As.
it’s a weird problem, superseeing.
https://slate.com/culture/2019/04/davide-moretti-finger-ncaa-instant-replay.html
(pesca focuses on the unfairness, in baseketball, of the percentage of time when this is available to refs.)
but the problem i’m seeing is that you can’t back down from superseeing — without changing or adding rules. if the point of this tech is to get the call the rightest possible, once you supersee a call one way, you can’t mitigate it with well-in-the-real-world-that’d-be-invisible-so… let’s go with our original hunch.
because that’s gonna be taken as hella fishy by the fans. well, by the ones on the wrong side of the call.
so i wonder what they’re going to do, and what sport it’ll start in.
maybe it’s, you supersee to find out what happened, but then you slow it down incrimentally, and if at, say x2 slomo or x3 or whatever arbitrary amount it is, you can’t see *how* even when you already know *what* then the call will always go to the _____ .
(probably the defense, right?)
wait. can’t remember. and the episode summaries are too brief.
did “against the rules” have an episode on this?
I don’t think so, really only the first episode was about sports, and mostly focused on basketball.
yeah, i might be conflating because of that baseketball one.
My first reaction was “wait, Virginia played Texas Tech in the NCAA basketball championship game?”
Phil Cuzzi’s crew just threw out half of the Yankees dugout for mildly complaining about a missed strike call.
Why does Houston get a local broadcast of this game and we don’t?
FS1 games are non-exclusive; that’s a choice by Comcast not to compete with them today. Tuesday and Wednesday are ESPN non-exclusives but Comcast isn’t skipping a Yankees game.
On the ESPN games, which are their midweek MLB games because they are showing the Little League World Series in the earlier time slot: ESPN can compete with the local RSN on the midweek games a certain number of times per year per team, but above that limit the games are exclusive to the RSN. Obviously they hit that limit with the Yankees and don’t come close with the A’s, so Oakland gets both telecasts while the games are only on YES in New York.
Why is it always too hot for the hound?
he is a hot dog
Someone tell Bassitt it’s not actually hot today.
“Bassitt”: it’s English for “tedious”.
Nice to see Bassitt not crumble when the ump missed a perfect inning-ending strike three there.
Why does Piscotty always swing at that crap? It’s so embarrassingly reminiscent of Crosby.
This is going to be a Long Wang day.
Also for whoever is Houston’s Wang.
This is good.
Hot take!
Kind of disappointing to only get five there.
Through that last feeble 6-3 groundout Khris OPS is .676 full season and .503 post All Star Break.
Butler 2015: .713
Butler 2016: .733
Profar 2019: .651, but .771 righthanded
It’s bad.
It’s gotta be an injury. Guys who have established a solid baseline of success just don’t fall off that precipitously otherwise.
It will come out during the offseason that he was dealing with XXX and couldn’t YYY but wanted to stay out there and contribute to the team. Let’s hope he’s in the Best Shape Of His Life in February.
Khris is .816 vs. LHP, .632 vs. RHP so still better than Profar but he’s closing ground.
I’m convinced that he rushed back from the DL and is hiding continuing nagging hip issues because he doesn’t want to sit out after signing an extension. Which stinks, because his best chance of living up to the contract is to properly heal now.
There are two guys in AAA having Corban Joseph like production, and I think it makes sense to give one of them a shot at DH. They’re both lefty so it would help with lineup balance as well. The problem is the lack of 40 man roster space.
Assuming that the Anderson, Blackburn, and Wang 40-man spots are for Manaea, Puk, and Luzardo….a Profar DFA starts to sound like a real possibility. If he is rooted to the bench now, and likely will be non-tendered, why keep him at all?
I’m assuming they like Martini’s ability to get on base against righties too much to let him go right now, and that they think they can get something for Fowler in the offseason.
A subtle problem with talented but perpetually injured pitching prospects like Kaprielian and Holmes is that they start clogging the roster before they are near ready to contribute.
A Profar DFA sounds a lot better than Profar starting at DH.
Ten years from now I’m going to be looking up something about the 2019 A’s on B-R, see that Profar was in the starting lineup one day as the DH and wonder “what the hell ever made Bob think that was a good idea?”.
They interviewed Profar’s kid brother last night on the telecast from the LLWS, the third of the Profar brothers to play in it.
There is a note in The Athletic today that Profar is seeing more first-pitch strikes (60%) than any other qualified hitter in baseball, and that he has swung at only 6.8 percent of them. Greinke’s first pitch to him yesterday was a batting practice fastball right down the middle, and he took it.
So in other words, if they give you a fucking meatball, eat the damn thing.
He gets the day off today, and we get Profar.
Important to punish teams for hitting Chapman. Nice.
It’s crazy how different each of these first three games has been. Slugfest, pitchers duel with extra innings, and now a single-thon. What might tomorrow hold?
Tomorrow all steals and catcher’s interference.
I’m impressed that Bassitt managed to eat six innings today after how the first one went. Much needed.
Piscotty may need to rethink his sliding technique.
Dont like that Piscotty pull put 1 bit. Laureano needs to start running fast.
Buchter is pointless.
I’ll cut him some slack here. Alvarez is a monster.
I have trouble remembering that Joe Smith, Will Smith, and Will Harris are three different guys.
Almost never in doubt, amazingly enough.
That’s as impressive a three game stretch as the A’s have put together all season.
We got through verlander, Cole is injured, Miley went before the series, great we can sweep, who they got tomorrow? Bullpen game?
We eked one out over Greinke last year on a Sunday afternoon at the Coliseum. No reason that can’t happen again.
The Rays haven’t scored in 28 innings. Currently heading to the 12th inning tied 0-0 with the Tigers after blowing a bases loaded, one out situation in the 11th.
We really should have traded for Sogard.
Tuned in for s bit of the Nats-Brewers game in time to see Doolittle give up homer-homer-double-homer, And then remain on the mound.
And then go on the IL.
That sounds bad.
Right? How has this never been mentioned before? Ive been clamoring to get hom up here but if he cant throw a pitch at all due to “discomfort “? Id almost prefer AZ and 2020.
Well, it’s not great, but if it’s only happening on the change-up, it may not be that scary. I’d like to know more about why though.
Yeah, weird for the change to bother him and not the more torque-y slider or curve. Suggests something about the way he tries to maintain same look to his arm motion on the change release. Plenty of time to work on that in spring 2020.
It’d be good to get him an expert in the off season to review what muscles/tendons are being misused when throwing it. I’m sure however he’s doing is causing damage and it would be nice to be able to keep an eye out for it in case other pitches may be influenced it (albeit not severely enough to cause pain).
Was there ever any official word on Murphy? I remember he was supposed to get an MRI or something but that was the last I heard. Assuming that means bad enough that spring training is the earliest we see him again.
He’s played two rehab games in the AZL, including one last night.
I believe he has been rehabbing in the Arizona rookie league.
Looks like Cotroneo on the TV call today with Glen Kuiper off mourning his father.
Condolences to the Kuiper clan. I was about to freak out over the creeping reach of Vince
i like vince on tv
Well he’s certainly better when one is not dependent on him to describe events as they happen. And Fosse on radio as I drove around just now makes it a double loss.
I figured Ed had sent a letter to Dave Kaval or something.
Refresh the thread.
Wow was that a bad send by the Houston 3B coach. Would’ve been bases loaded one out.
Terrible. Maybe he was assuming Bregman’s bat would save him.
It looks to me like Altuve is not moving as well as usual.
Anderson may have thrown that ball into the bullpen, but at least he survived the play.
The Tigers fucking suck and are a joke of an organization.
I wasn’t watching to see what happened at the end today, but going into the series expected wins for the Tigers at the Trop would have been <1 so you take what you can get.
It’s been some years since I heard anything about Greinke’s depression/anxiety issues, and hopefully treatment has helped him. That said I don’t think I’ve ever seen him with a facial expression that didn’t say “I wish I was somewhere else right now.”
He got traded from an income tax state to a no income tax state, though, so he’s been carrying that warm fuzzy feeling around the last few weeks.
Does Phegley even try to frame pitches?
Greinke looked about 14 in that debut footage.
Pay that man.
Rat farts
Perhaps not the ideal 0-2 pitch.
The Astros are just too good against lefties and Brett really wasn’t pitching that well even before the homer.
Good Lou coming back may be the best thing to come out of this series. And that us saying something.
Not many pitchers have made Canha look lost this year. Greinke certainly has.
Vince lapsing into a classic Verlander hagiography for the TV crowd.
Vince takes the opportunity to force his anti-cycle take onto the TV air. He wants it to be his thing.
About two more wins than I thought we’d get this series. Enjoy the off day boys.
And by the end of today’s game I had 15 gallons kegged, so at least there’s that.
And it looks like the A’s will gain a game on the Rays over the first four games of this comparative disadvantage in the schedule (barring a Mariners calamity which can never be ruled out).
Puk up.
wonder who goes down… wang?
Puk up, wang out
Anderson out with blister maybe?
garneau stays!
Like an ace something something
Thanks, and go As.
Like a rookie before september call ups?
FKBar: This is outrageous, yes?
IANACL, but I can’t imagine the witness ID not getting thrown out. And the testimony from the “forensic criminalist” that he does this all the time for the police sure seems like it could open up a lot of closed cases.
They should all be fired and charged with obstruction.
Ridiculous counterpoint, what would happened if it were discovered (or even argued) that the suspect intentionally used makeup to hide his facial tattoos for this very purpose?
IAACL, digitally altering a mugshot is common. I have never seen it for the target of the investigation. Building a good “six pack” is tough and they need to put in people that meet the description. to that end, filler pictures are altered.
This is completely fucked up and like GM says could be upheld for the reasons stated by the prosecutor. “goes to the weight, not the admissibility” is the song and dance i get from judges on these types of issues.
That said there are many experts and the leading ones are in Seattle. I’ve used one.
be a whole lot cooler if you did
Thanks, and go As.
Congrats to Vida, a great friend to the FKers, and the other guys.
No idea what I’m looking at.
Giant container ship making what must be a 500-point turn in front of where our new ballpark is going.
if you’re not kidding about the point-turn, they just go clockwise with tugs.
1500 ft basin, ~1300 ft ship, it’s like the empire state building went for a swim.
it’s fun to watch.
everything i know about this, including the obvious (that ships are getting bigger, the turning basin can’t, and the port’s mission is to keep up with the big ships before they stop coming) i learned last friday, when on the port’s harbor tour.
should have asked the obvious question, why they have to bring ships into the channel to turn them. it seems there’s 1500ft-plus of non-land area in the bay itself.
i would rec the tour, if you don’t mind a little longshore pro-port propaganda, you’re into container spotting, and didn’t plan ahead to get on east bay yesterday’s much more promising tour.
also, i want to change careers and work on a tugboat.
the innuendos just write themselves.
Whose idea was an online system that doesn’t allow a youth clipper card to be associated with an adult account? I can have any number of cards in my name, but every child has to have a separate account.
Why are you trying to track where a little girl goes?
I’m just trying to make sure she has money on her card to get there!
The Metropolitan Transportation Commission, and organization whose corrupt chicanery is singularly matched by their incompetence
Currently appearing in my A’s Access special offer section are options to buy a full posteason strip, or individual tickets for (1) a tiebreaker game, (2) the division series, (3) the ALCS, or (4) the World Series. No wild card game.
That’s weird. A glitch? Hosting a WC game is a more probable than a home tiebreaker (I think), let alone a World Series game. And since you don’t pay until the A’s actually advance it no longer benefits the team to sell you unlikely future round games
better head to head with cle and tb, yeah?
And Minny. We’d host a tiebreaker for the 2WC against anyone but Boston.
I don’t think we’ll be seeing this beer on tap at The Treehouse.
Did they get told they’re being booted from their Sec. 126 stand after this season?
When I saw that on tap at the Dealership recently I was asking about the yeast, figuring it might be include one of the engineered variants that produces something other than alcohol as the by-product, but in typical Dealership fashion no-one there knew anything about it.
Like what?
There are certainly GE yeasts now that produce stevia and vanillin, though the holy grail is THC.
