Funny, Brazilian TV also has an annoying McDonalds World Cup commercial. There is an offer of burgers supposedly in the style of each country to have won the Cup, so there is an exaggerated French chef pushing a burger with bleu cheese, a tough-looking Spanish lady offering a burger with ham, etc., and then Neymar for some reason.

A’s could go to 4 games over .500 for the first time since 2014 if they close it out.
5 over as we reach the halfway mark…for the record the 2012 team was 39-42 at this point. The upcoming 10 games against the Indians and Astros will determine a lot going towards the trade deadline.
While not imperative, going 7-3 the rest of the year against Seattle would go a long way in bridging the gap. Also, Seattle playing closer to the .500 team that they are the rest of the way would not hurt (though after Britton gave up a homer to a lefty, I have no hope of that).

I would move Martin and White down and Neuse in. Probably also add Murray.
I thought about Murray, but it’s hard for me to slot him in there until after football season.
I want to believe in Neuse, but this year has been a disaster so far and he hasn’t hit for any power above the Cal League.
In the last two weeks, Neuse is hitting .400/.404/.600. Small sample size, and still some red flags (30% K, 2% BB) but it’s an improvement.
Mateo is always hitting well in that same stretch, with the same caveats.
Howard and Dunshee were a little old for their level, and I’ve heard suggestions that their stuff might not hold up at higher levels. We’ll see.
On the plus side, Luzardo has been excellent in 11 starts at AA (60 K, 14 BB, 2 HR in 53 innings, 3.08 ERA) and I don’t think it would be crazy to challenge him with another promotion soon.
I would probably put Lazarito over Beck. Same level, roughly same age (Lazarito 6 months younger), and better performance by a good margin (though currently on the DL).
Hard to argue with this, unfortunately. The most demoralizing term I can remember.

Even if Trump were impeached tomorrow, and the GOP left in shambles, we’ll be struggling to recover from this debacle for decades.
I’ve posited that we’ll see a new Civil War within the next 20 – 30 years. Easily before the century is out. All the signs are there. And there’s no unifying force out there at this point that can piece it back together, the division and hatred (from both sides) is just too strong. The only question is who fires that first “shot.” But this is one case where reconciliation is unlikely to occur.

Depends on what happens with Mueller’s investigation. If there was found cause that he was illegitimate, then they should absolutely be removed from office. Otherwise, gain control of the Presidency and Senate and pack the court to undo the damage.

Now that Justice Kennedy has abdicated any concerns he once expressed about those things, it’s pretty crucial to flip a bunch of state legislatures and governorships this year and hold them through the reapportionment…
