I can’t believe we’re gonna miss Jim Johnson.
Almost knocked out CY too.
Mr. Murray is going to be a nightmare for fosse interviews
Slusser bored
the A’s have had a lead for 3 of the last 111 outs
Ouch.
The ground-rule double in the bottom of the 8th was such bullshit … the ball was barely more than rolled up against the base of the padding.
why can’t CY25 be terrible again?
is it inappropriate to count outs in a meaningless mid june game?
A bad win jones will do that to you any time of year.
throw strikes
He didn’t get a couple calls vs Trout and Pujols and it rattled him.
CY25. Just kill me now…
no need!
Yes! Classic CY
A’s are out of mound visits first time ever?
That didn’t come easy but yay!
That Angels pitcher today is seriously funny looking.
More than most people, even.
Since he didn’t go on to score I applaud the deliberate hitting of Trout to lead off.
We Canhaz homerun!
Are they still trying to pretend Canha is a CF?
I guess the A’s figure Canha >>> Fowler hitting vs lefties is worth more. To the eye at least that seems wrong.
He avoided getting thrown out twice but it’s still idiotic for Jed to try for the extra bases down three runs.
(as the subsequent sac fly rewards the risk taking}
That was a great slow motion comeback, I now expect the A’s to win in another hour or two.
Tying it after all those Scioscia pitching changes was certainly satisfying.
so so satisfying.
LOL Glen: “Gone…No, Canha caught it.”
Great catch by Canha. But holy shit Glen get your eyes checked.
um, that wasn’t close to out
I FKing hate bunting when everyone is expecting it.
Celebrate pie.
Celebrate .500.
Celebrate beating LAAAA.
Celebrate good times.
Inexorable.
The A’s, Argentina, and Brazil: all at .500.
group KC-CHW-DET should be safe to make it out of the knock out round
Whoa has this been posted already? Slusspeculation that Beane and Melvin might be out after next year.
Interesting, Slusser is famously well-connected with the A’s front office but this piece is sourced to “baseball circles and those in the know.” It also variously speculates about a full house cleaning by Fisher or a Beane Beane, Forst takes full charge scenario.
After the five year playoff drought we’d be at after next season, a change of manager and GM would be expected by most teams, and could happen here. But this reads like Fisher floating a range of hypotheses for Slusser to print then see what happens.
I thought it was coming (at least in part) from somewhere other than ownership.
This part
sure doesn’t make the owners look good.
I was actually thinking it could be from Beane. Especially the way he has been saying even he knows at some point they need to win. Maybe a push to get Fisher to break open the wallet even before the new stadium is under construction.
I could see that. I also wonder whether the rhetorical question about whether Beane and/or Melvin could land with the Giants is a shot across the bow from someone or just editorial insistence on including something about that team.
Billy won’t go anywhere else, he’ll just step away and work on soccer.
It would be too much of a PITA for him to divest his ownership stake, even if it’s a small percentage.
Thanks, and go As.
I agree with this, but probably Billy’s ownership agreement comes with a majority owner buyout option.
Sterile neutrinos?!
I’d say the odds were still against them.
If they exist they should have shown up in other experiments (most notably IceCube), and it’s much easier to get a systematic effect that shows up as a false positive than a false negative.
LOL Hunter Strickland.
