HOK (duh)
Snøhetta
Sasaki
Studio T Square
It sounds like Sasaki and Studio T Square (an Oakland firm) will be handling how the park fits into the area, HOK will be on the ballpark design itself, and Snøhetta will “bridge the planning and design.”
Kaval says they want “an intimate ballpark that will introduce a new era in ballparks, not a fortress” while the guy from the Sasaki firm says “The A’s see an opportunity to redesign the delivery of baseball — make it more relevant and exciting for Millennials and a wider, more diverse community.”
We shall see. In the meantime, grill.
Fine, but fix the FKing replay delays too.
catchers trips are not the problem.
there are some pitchers that are a problem, but I don’t want to see an era where the pitcher feel the need to use all the clock
Reduce between inning time where we see the same damn commercials each inning along with the majority being promos for future games and other programming.
Maybe, but I’m not sure Healy is the best example.
A guy who is bad at defense and walks less than 4% of the time isn’t likely to mature into anything all that good, regardless of his ability to hit the ball to the moon when he gets into one.
I’m not too broken up about the Healy trade. He hit well after his callup in 2016 because his BABIP was .352. It dropped to .319 in 2017 and his OBP went with it.
agree.
the only thing he really offered was becoming mark trumbo, someone you could flip for a lot because “dingerz.” but then there is Khris Davis, and I don’t see a line forming for him
I can’t really argue about Healy’s limitations, but I don’t really see the point of dumping him if they’re going to turn around and trade for Avisail Garcia. Or if someone gets hurt and they end up giving 300 PAs to Canha or whomever.
I think the difference is that Garcia (or whoever) can play in the outfield. Not well, but hopefully not catastrophically.
Healy’s defensive issues are just too severe to be playable on this roster, and his trade value was only going to deteriorate if they kept him around as injury insurance.

In the meantime, grill (because we won’t be able to at the new park).

brief bit about the trade. I am getting 2012 type of hopeful. (not that I expected a good team in 2012, but once August was almost over I believed.)
I’m waiting for our Bartolo and our Cespedes to get hopeful.
It might take two or three Bartolos* — pitching looks pretty grim to me.
* What is the correct term for a group of Bartolo’s? A waddle? An earthquake?
Graveman

Wow. I never typed them all out together. that is…a list of names.

Overton was traded a year ago.
really? there goes the pennant.
all star break for the better of puk/holmes?
Puk maybe in a best-case scenario. I’m going to say Holmes definitely needs a full year in AAA.
Naw, dude, this is a 2012 parallel fantasy. Griffin straily and parker all step up
STANTON.
Thanks, and go As.
yes please.
Cal making a game of it! An ugly game, but still.
Jet Toner? Really?
It’s good to have a coach who cares about defense. Wilcox was hired late and inherited an empty cupboard so the talent was too thin after the inevitable injuries. Winning two conference games, five games overall including wins vs. the ACC and SEC, and not getting blown off the field in the Big Game substantially exceeded the dismal expectations, and a win against Perennially Underachieving UCLA this week would still get the Bears to .500 with the corresponding invitation to play Wossamotta U. in the Roto Rooter Bowl.
coachless UCLA
Can you trade for $1M International signing money?
What a charade
Tyrod Taylor had 3 interceptions in 9 games.
Nathan Peterman, who plays the game the right way, has 3 interceptions in his first quarter.
Now 5 in the first half.
This team might be dumber than the Browns.
Defense has chipped in by giving up 108 points in the last 8 quarters.
Too much hyperbole. To be worse than the Browns you need to draft poorly, mismanage your roster, hire bad coaches, fire them and hire worse ones, and lose almost every week. Repeat season after mind-numbing season.
Were they scrappy gunslinger picks though?
Let me check…
Yep
Check; check; check; sometimes but not this time because no one is worse than Rex; Cleveland definitely has us beat on the last one.
The Browns somehow managed to make the playoffs once this millennium, but in the fifteen years since then they have averaged around 4.5 wins per year, finishing last in their division 13 times (including this year), which is just abysmal. Buffalo’s brand of futility somehow seems harder to accomplish: 18 seasons in which they have rarely (only three times) dropped below 6 wins, but never exceeded 9.
I assumed FSU was referring to a team that hired Lane Kiffin and drafted JaMarcus Russell.
list of potential Rule V losses
Fillmyer and Boyd might yet make it, but I doubt either is a risk to survive a year on someone’s 25-man roster.
What about Trivino or Sanchez? Seems like every team is collecting hard-throwing relievers, and back end of a bullpen is an available spot to stash a player on a non-contending team. Sanchez is still injured, but I think the A’s have targeted injured players in Rule 5 before, since they can be kept on the DL instead of 25 man.
I don’t think it would be the end of the world to lose either of those guys, of course…
I know nothing about either of them but would be quite happy to see Casilla DFAd in favor of one.
i will pay the $6M myself

Sickels seems to like Campos.
poetry
Looks like they decided to acquire someone they’ll need to protect.
Bailey was a 2016 draft pick who racked up 120 Ks for Stockton and
MidlandBeloit last season, so I hope Laureano is a real prospect.Sickels had Laureano as Houston’s #7 prospect before last season, and then he flopped in AA.
(This is from Sickels’ midseason review. Laureano finished the year at .227/.298/.369.)
so not Stanton
Thanks, and go As.
Not yet
With the farm system having swung in the direction of having lots of decent hitting prospects and few decent pitching prospects, this seems like a strange move. He’s not especially young for his level, has played some CF but more in RF, and didn’t hit last year.
Bye Jairo
all part of jesus’ plan
I don’t hate this new “batting practice cap”.
It’s the 1968/69 hat in forest rather than kelly green
As with last year’s dugout hoodies, I am against any A’s garb which omits the gold part of our color scheme.
The mlb logo on the back has you covered.
I reject that as tokenism.
Have they said anything about adding vest-style uniforms as an alternate for the 50th anniversary season, i.e. something they would wear regularly rather than just on a Throwback Day? Maybe the players said NOOOOO? I thought those things were ugly as hell. They wore them in Oakland from 1968 through 1971. Switched to pullovers in 1972 and presto, three straight World Championships.
Are the Rockies the only vest team these days? They look terrible.
Those vest jerseys looked cool AF on a baseball card.
The buttons make this a lot better than the Rockies look.
The look was too much Mr. Green Jeans to me.
that boy doesn’t look confident.
Yeah I doubt he’ll amount to much.
i just realized I used an insensitive term
Fillmyer and Trivino added to the 40-man roster.
Brugman and Moll DFA.
Fair enough. Moll stunk, and Brugman fell off the edge of the depth chart since we last saw him.
Still, Jairo.
futile attempt to have someone pay more than $500K of his salary?
I was confused about why Brugman was taking up space in the Arizona Fall League in the first place.
Originally, Tyler Ramirez was an AFL rep, but he got hurt so Brugman replaced him.
FWIW, sslingerette #1 is in grad school at the Harvard Graduate School of Design, and when I told her Sasaki was on the design team she immediately responded that that’s a good thing. So that’s hopeful.
this had me confused for a long time

what make a person not feel shame?
Strange US state laws.
ok, but it has to be said: the moment you’re in minnesota, you’re no longer crossing state lines.
I love this guy.
New class of Hall nominees is out. Of the new guys Chipper Jones and Jeff Kent strike me as strong candidates. They’ll probably keep Schilling out because they can’t handle the truth #TedNugent.

It’s Kent’s 5th year on the ballot.
Not the first Cal guy to need five years to get enough credits.
Who died and made Joe Morgan tribune of the hall of famers?
Weird, I can’t find the part where he talks about amphetamines.
Even setting aside all of the questionable logic and vapid sanctimony in the letter, the whole “we Hall of Famers think blah blah blah” thing is very irritating.
some new free agents hit the market
questionis from where can they be paid
MLB is dead serious about underpaying these kids.
As soon as they are subject to the draft, we won’t have to wrry
This seems like a pretty good question:
Down goes
FrazierNorton! About effin time.Improbably, I am watching the Toronto-Columbus MLS game. Is it really true that a player asking for video review is itself a yellow card offense? That seems awfully petty.
Can we apply that rule to Scioscia somehow?
It’s dissent, basically.
Thanks, and go As.
They should collapse and clutch their knee like a normal soccer player.
Golly gee willikers, how could this have happened?
His pops started out as a Trotskyite, so Bill going in the opposite direction would be quite poetic.
i clicked on that. saw an unrelated tweet. had a question.
are NDAs somehow unconstitutional? like, what’s the law that prevents me from speaking a disclosure (even if i signed on to it)?
It’s not a crime, but you can get sued.
NDAs aren’t unconstitutional. By signing it you are waiving your first amendment right to speak about what ever the thing is. It’s contract law that prevents you from speaking.
An NDA could be unenforceable for lots of reasons, though, like if it prevented you from reporting a crime, or if you were coerced into signing it, or if it is just too onerous to enforce in good conscience.
got it. though maybe i need further clarification, if you settle in mediation or arbitration, is that preventing you from reporting a crime? or different?
I just mean that if you settle a case and sign and NDA about it, a court may not enforce that NDA against you if the thing you agreed not to disclose was a crime, and what you did was report it to the police.
Meaning, there are ways that an NDA could butt up against public policy where the law would say you can’t actually sign away your right to disclose that–we as a society need you to be able to disclose that. I don’t really know where that line is though, and the pernicious thing about NDAs is that even if they aren’t enforceable, who is going to take the risk of breaking one knowing that best case they spend a fortune on legal fees?
i think some rose mcgown stuff in the nda was a crime.
i don’t thnk weinstein could recoup his payment if she was subpoenaed to testify
i see.
also, i hate the world.
At this point I’m just going to assume all these guys are chasing after 14 year olds.
yes
yup
Added to 1 say lookit that hair, and 2 ifshe was “advised” then there are more people that know and 3 can’t get around the cops, they work closely with the DAs.

Way too early, but I’m longing for the spring. If anyone is in Mesa on March 20th for the game vs. the Dodgers, let’s have a beer or two.
Any chance of a Bay Area leg to the trip?
No, not this time – we are going as a group, and I’m going to Croatia right after
GET HIM
the dream lives
He obviously has extra value for an NL team, on the other hand more money doesn’t seem to be a driver for him. Would the opportunity to bat be a significant lure?
The A’s pitch could be more versatility?
I’m ok with Oakland committing to DH him when he’s not pitching. Also, imagine what the other pitchers will think when they realized that Khris gets to DH for Ohtani’s starts but the rest of them are subjected to his noodle arm in LF.
Our CL team got FKed in the Qarabag.

Flat Earthers sure are persistent, I’ll give them that.

This guy can’t be for real.
A couple of points missing from the Jezebel article:
– the rocket is steam-powered
– he only became a flat-earther when his 2016 kickstarter for the project failed.

Happy Thanksgiving, FKers! I’m thankful for many things in this life, including this interesting, entertaining, and fun space we’ve managed to sustain. Cheers!
Happy Thanksgiving!
Anyone got a gas can I can borrow?
I got your gas can right here.
Yes, in my garage, but I’m not home now. When do you need it?
Situation resolved thanks, but I did suspect you would have one.
I’d like to think this has settled the ongoing debate with mrs ptbnl about driving on empty, but I doubt it.
Sigh. Nurse Upgrade devotes 10x more time into calculating how far she can drive below empty than she does jusy filing up the FKing tank.
My longstanding policy has been to keep at least 100 miles worth in the tank, particularly when I reviewed my emergency preparedness after Katrina and thought about what type of sudden disaster and supply disruption could occur in Oakland (where I still lived then).
I was actually not aware of the depth of the Braves investigation and of the penalties levied. Um, Billy go get Kevin Maitan?
I wonder how different they acted compared to other teams. my guess would be not that different.
Yeah, was wondering the same thing.
Also wondering whether the Red Sox (who were penalized for similar, yet apparently not equal behavior and were prohibited from signing any players in the “Kevin Maitan Year”) will be allowed to sign him as a free agent now.
Will there be room in the budget after we get Stanton and Ohtani?
Easily – Billy Butler is coming off the books
He said room in the budget, not at the buffet.
Otani is not a budget thing, he is a let him do what he wants thing. I think any team has a shot. but the winning team is willing to let him hit and pitch
I insist that he hits and pitches.
the A’s pitch should be a video of pat venditi.
I’m late to this Bill James anti-WAR thing.
Seems super wrong (e.g. “When you sever the connection between wins and statistics, you are no longer doing statistical analysis.”), but Silver weighs in on his side:
I don’t know. If you take his stance ad absurdum, then you would have to say that Michael Jordan in his prime, on an NBA team otherwise comprised of high school math team members, has 0 WAR, because there are 0 actual wins for a team. That seems… wrong.
I agree about the difference between predictive and descriptive stats, but I think that current versions of WAR are more or less formulated as predictive stats and do a pretty good job. We have other descriptive stats.
This game between the Perennially Underachieving Eds and the Perennially Shitty Soakers is quite the abomination of college football.
on a friday?
If Rosen is out for the second half we just have to, HAVE TO, generate enough offense against this horrid Fucla defense to win and gain that Roto Rooter Bowl berth.
Yuck. If there’s a positive, it’s that it established that they need to go through the other QBs in the system in spring practice rather than anointing the low-ceilinged Bowers for another year.
Let it not be lost amid the majesty that is Cal football that their men’s hoopsters just entered the rarified status of the likes of the Ralph Samson-era Virginia Cavaliers. Cal 72, Chaminade 96. Ouch.
Well that is shameful.
Actually it was very cool on the part of the scholarship players to head to the beach and let the walk-ons and student managers play a game that counts.
(checks last night’s Cal score) Central Arkansas 96, Cal 69 in Berkeley. I believe we are the KU Football of college basketball this year.
Curry led the team in rebounds last night, Pachulia in assists.
STOP.CALLING.ME.ASKING.FOR.MONEY.
How many NFL teams are still paying him?
He gets almost the same money from the NFL as from the league where players are not allowed to get any money.
Also, can I have $5?
MB BAIT (also 5aces, tfr and WAC)
At first blush, the Fresno idea doesn’t seem bad. Also it will spur the HSR and stuff.
This is sort of fun.
Current results here
I think we should put this together, translate it, and send it over to Billy for him to forward along.
the thing I don’t like about this whole thing, I think every team has a shot. its not about money. I think my team has a shot. and when he signs with the mariners I will be bummed
>facilities
he has a chance to *design* the facilities
So then he is going with the Fresno offer? Maybe Im getting our topics confused…
I also think the A’s pitch has to be there is a place for him. DH rotation that doesn’t depend on playing nelson cruz in right 3 days a week.
A developing team that has strong pieces in place and a serious 2019-2020 window.
Track record of letting payers do their thing (moss, mengden, vendeti).
Famously low key environment. Stable manager that uses versatility.
East bay can be pastoral like Hokkido. enough japanese/asian culture to not be totally out of the loop.
Rickey.
is keichi yabu still in the bullpen?
Kinda reminds me of that scene in Mad Men where they’re working with the ground rules on the Honda pitch.
What a joke of a personal foul against the Bills
Doesn’t matter now, though
In the hunt!
FK the Chiefs
The NFL has like 4-5 really good teams, 4-5 really awful teams, and a huge slurry of mediocrity amid which I too am happy that my team still gasps breath.
The AFC in particular is pretty much:
New England Patriots
—50 feet of crap—
14 teams that vary in suckage, but all suck
—A mile of crap—
Cleveland Browns
Also, on the subject of the really awful teams, if the current television schedule holds, the 49ers will not be on local TV in Reno next Sunday, for what I’m pretty sure is the first time since I have lived here. We did bail on the Raiders a few times at their depths, but never the 49ers.
Gonna miss the beginning of the Jimmy G era.
Thanks, and go As.
Ugh, 1-10 Niners @ 3-8 Bears game is on CBS instead of Fox for some reason, preventing us from seeing some AFC game with playoff implications. Thanks Trump.
We got Bills-Chiefs yesterday, which I watched on the DVR expecting to load up on BuffaLOL comments. But good grief the Chiefs are atrocious. Our schedule has Chiefs-Jets in place of 49ers-Bears, and I qualified it with “if the schedule holds” because that isn’t exactly compelling either, but I suppose the local Raiders fans have a legitimate renewed interest in that one.
My team is gradually, persistently sucking me into considering them one of those really good teams. I’m waiting to figure out if they’re going to crush me by blowing it in some unfathomable way in the playoffs, or just getting a bad beatdown at home in the finale. Clearly, sending thousands of disheartened fans into the Minneapolis streets on a cold dreary Feb night would be the most fitting of all.
Giant Raiders logo still showing at midfield in the Mexican soccer playoffs.
If Tedford doesnt get every coach of the year award I dont think they should ever bother having one again.
From 1 win a year ago to being in the top 25 as December rolls in, playing for the conference championship.
Also, this makes very little sense. But its college FB-what are you gonna do?
COME ON MAN
hey. it’s not all tone deaf. at least he was talking code.
this is a good comment.
+1 Trail of Tears.
Someone in the White House thought he was being very cute setting this up in front of Old Hickory, realizing that les deplorables would get the racist deep cut they were laying down. Of course Trump went out and did his thing of making the subtext text anyway, making that poor staffer’s subtle work superfluous.
I mean, this is so fucking tiring. this is outrageous and as Billy on the street said, if a comedian said this on a netflix special their career would be over, but but but but, its really NOTHING compared to actual evils like the court packing senate, the CFPB, DACA, Motherfuckingg tax cuts, ROY Moore and shit look at that list! those are current fires! Every week is like this
Yeah. It is unceasingly awful.
But setting aside of all of that substance, why can’t he just be normal for five fucking minutes? Who disrespects the Navajo Code Talkers for Christ’s sake?? What is wrong with him????

Of course.
i’m here to brag and say that i’ve seen the last two WC finals in the company of this fairly competent writer.
So the other Garcia ship has Avisailed?
joyce smolinski davis nunez canha pinder
I mean, there is going to be plenty of ABs taken by 2 WAR players.
Powell fits that description too.
Joyce against RHPs is nice. I’m excited to see Fowler if he is alive. Pinder should get at bats. The rest is pretty meh.
I like those guys.

Cars driving into Muni tunnels seem to happen with surprising regularity.
Once in my 20s I came close to driving into the tunnel near Dolores Park. Conceptually I get how it’s tricky to let trains run smoothly from roadway rails to tunnel rails while also blocking cars.

I like the sound of this!
Somehow I don’t think this is the pitch that lands him.
I’m already tired of this circus. I hope someone gives him stupid money and then he’s below replacement level.
Thanks, and go As.
The problem is no one can give him stupid money (yet). That’s why we’re having the circus instead.
Can’t he be given a stupid extension though?
Thanks, and go As.
They aren’t allowed to discuss an extension while trying to sign him. It seems pretty impossible to enforce this, but there is supposed to be some plausible deniability when they suddenly come up with a huge extension after Ohtani’s second MLB game.
I guess he is a reliever these days.
Very good numbers last year.
OTOH, A’s don’t have a great track record with relievers in their 30s coming off good years.
OTFH, I’m glad they’re serious about trying to fix the bullpen. Treinen, Pagan, Petit all had good K rates last year (as did Dull and Hendricks). Dump Casilla and Hatcher please.
Whoa, very good numbers last year.
ok.
It’s all happening.
I hope the angels just got this guy from 2014
I don’t think its the car that/who was wrong
Well done, morons.
I’m confused. it always did raise taxes
Not on the people they care about.
lol
oh that’s rich.
Seriously, what happens? That can’t get fixed without going to the full senate, right?
Right.
They will have to come up with a fix in conference committee and get it through both houses.
By the time a conference bill is ready, there could be a Democratic senator from Alabama…
In other words:
I can’t bring myself to believe that Alabama will vote for a Democrat.
I wonder what would happen in the analogous situation in California if the Democrat faced these accusations. I’d hope the state Democratic party would have forced the candidate to withdraw long before this, but if it did reach this stage, would California elect the Republican?
We would elect the other Democrat, thanks to the jungle primary.
Well, in a state with no jungle primary my answer would likely be to vote third-party. But I damn sure wouldn’t vote for a statutory rapist.
If I were an Alabama conservative my line of thinking would be: I don’t believe these girls, but even if it’s true it happened a long time ago and we all sin. Judge Roy has proven that he is a man of God and he must have prayed about it and received forgiveness. Besides, if the Democrats ever take over the country they will raid my house and take my guns away and we’ll all be living under Sharia law and I cannot be a part of causing that to happen. MAGA!
It’s all about the Supreme Court. Moore or Jones may be the difference in whether Trump gets to seat another Gorsuch if Kennedy and/or Ginsburg leaves, which would probably mean the end of abortion as a constitutional right in America.
If Jones vs. Moore were for a House seat or for Governor, Jones would win by 15-20 points. The Senate (and the President) is different for them.
I’d probably vote for a “decent” Republican in that situation. A (non sexually harassing) Schwarzenegger or a Romney type. Maybe a Flake or McCain type good-guy conservative. A California republican is more likely to be a neanderthal though, so I would have to hope for a write-in campaign.
neanderthal is no way to call someone who doesn’t want to pay into california’s schools and health services.
they’re called bunch of bible-thumpin’, gun-totin’, wild-eyed pistol-wavers. et al, of course.
btw, eating at the bar at foster’s big horn this saturday, a local man, pushing 60, sitting on my date’s side, three stools over from me but very audible, talking to a younger man, 30ish, kept repeating the same refrain. “it was 40 years ago! you telling me they’re gonna bring this up 40 years later? come on!!”
young guy didn’t say anything. i heckled but he didn’t acknowledge. i shut up shortly after because my date was all, let’s not make a scene. she was fuming though.
guy on my side of the bar was fun though. like a heterosexual andy dick.
next time, back to my previously proven recipe for the levee: just 1 bloody mary at fosters, and on to al the wop’s for dinner. better steak. and the animals aren’t watching.
Reconciliation with the house bill.
Jeff sees something.
That’s encouraging. We’ll see if the innings they eat are more about contending or just saving an ineffective starting staff. Also I like having a duo called Petit and Pagan.
Six Degrees of Francis Bacon
Mmmmmmm, Bacon.
superneat graphical interactivity!
not sure what to do with it.
that was my reaction too
I thought it might get me to Kevin Bacon but no go.
i’m gonna need a similar thing for the mueller probe. now israel is involved??
LOL NFL
So I only kinda followed the trial, but how is it possible Garcia Zarate wasn’t at least guilty of involuntary manslaughter? Bad prosecuting? Seemed to be kinda convoluted. Or maybe Matty Gonzales is just that good.
This (from a conservative but non-Trumpy writer) makes a pretty good argument that the prosecutors blew it by trying to get him for murder when the facts weren’t there. (And that Gonzalez did an excellent job.)
Plausible theory that the gun went off before he realized it was a gun, because it was wrapped in something.
Which makes the gun possession conviction questionable, hence the rationale for the appeal I guess.
except he picvked it up after it went off. at that point he was a felon in possession
Ah, I see.
Sad face
they are still a shitty team.
For the prospect watchers (which is probably everyone given the state of the big league club) baseball prospectus has their A’s list out:
1. A.J. Puk, LHP
2. Franklin Barreto, SS
3. Jorge Mateo, SS/OF
4. Jesus Luzardo, LHP
5. Dustin Fowler, OF
6. Austin Beck, OF
7. Grant Holmes, RHP
8. Lazaro Armenteros, OF
9. James Kaprielian, RHP
10. Sean Murphy, C
They also provide the next 10 names but not in a ranking, which are: Dakota Chalmers, Greg Deichmann,Daulton Jeffries, Ramon Laureano, Casey Meisner, Kevin Merrell, Yairo Munoz, Sheldon Nuese, Max Schrock, Logan Shore,
And had this to say about The State of the System: A series of deadline deals left the A’s with not much in the way of a major league team, but a heckuva farm system.
cool, but doesn’t give me confidence the #7 pick is going to be great
That’s a pretty darn good list. I might argue for Neuse or Schrock in the 8-10 spots but otherwise that seems right. Been a while since there were so many interesting prospects at once.
And that’s not counting Olson/Chapman/Boog/all of the back of rotation guys.
Lazarito is the real mystery man there. He’s younger than Beck.
Any of you guys planning to go to the World Cup Rugby Sevens Finals in At&T in July? Been watching most of today’s tournament in Dubai, and it seems like wathing it in person would be quite entertaining
I have been thinking it would be fun. Passed on getting the full strips of tickets but I just saw that single-day tickets are now for sale, so I could be convinced to pick a day.
Me too.
“the Congressional Accountability Act prohibits me from answering that question”
oh shit. i missed the draw.
kneejerks to follow:
A: russia rigged it. uruguay tops them though.
B: tight geographic grouping. the iberians take the group.
C: am rooting for river plate. and denmark?
D: 3 of 4 finalists!!! (kit-patterns division.) hope my guys learned from that 4-1 nigeria put on us a couple weeks ago. worried about having both cheeky can-doers in the same group too. argentina and nigeria, because stalwarts.
E: my paper is calling this a group of death. i don’t see it. brasil and someone in red.
F: go sweden! i have issues with the rest.
G: oh hey, england gets into the knockouts! and belgium.
H: colombia and… i don’t know enough about the other 3. prolly poland.
The groups just look so empty with out Chile, Italy and the Netherlands.
