That was some quality analysis from Mulder, talking about how with Strasburg’s command struggles meant it was crucial for the A’s to be selective, like right now with one out, a RISP and Lowrie looking at a 2-0 pitch, gotta layoff anything that’s not center cut. Then Lowrie rolls over on a nasty running inside pitch and grounds weakly to 1st.
Or Davis swinging at the first pitch.

I turn on the tv and the first thing I see is the Lind homer…I never should have turned it on.
It looks like the Khris Davis bobblehead brought in a sell out crowd.
A’s fans have realized they only give out 15,000 bobbleheads, so there’s no reason to expect 40K to show up.
Well, I’m sure the folks there will cherish their Khris Davis bobblehead until the end of time…or until he’s traded in a month.
There are already several available on ebay, so some of the folks cherish the money more.
The biggest surprise for me here is that ebay is still a thing.
So is Mengden’s shtick that he’s an old timey pitcher with the windup and mustache wax?
It’s a strong brand.
After Soaker’s lineup post yesterday I almost commented that after Pinder and Healy, Olson should be the next youngster to get regular playing time.
He’s hitting .285/.374/.575 (8th in the league in OPS) with 14 HRS (3rd) at Nashville, and is still only 23.
The bad news is that his K rate is still 26%, so it remains to be seen if he can make enough contact against major league pitching to be useful. At least he will fit right in.

To nitpick that: Rajai only got one year. Joyce and Casilla were signed for two years. Madson and Doolittle are the only other players signed for 2018 (Lowrie has a club option which can be bought out for $1M). This is a time-killing year, but on the bright side they can do a near-total housecleaning from the July 31 deadline into the upcoming offseason.

Matt Joyce with the Grand Slam. I have nothing snarky to say I just wanted to point out that this happened.
It was enough to give a good scare to all the Warriors ticket holders, though Bob was going to take care of that problem by bringing Casilla in for the 10th.
I suppose one positive is that they may finally send down one of the three headed Montas/Smith/Neal shitfest for Hahn instead of a position player.
Not that it addresses that point specfically, but I notice Blackburn pitched today for Nashville, and I’ll speculate he will be the 26th player on Saturday and start a game of the doubleheader.
