It really feels like 20 years from now, when he’s long retired, 275 lbs. and playing beer league softball, some savvy big league team will sign Chris Carter to a 3-day contract just to homer against the A’s.
"Kraut will get you through times of no money better than money will get you through times of no kraut."
Only three questions in the poll:
1. President? (Answer – other/none, in my case none)
2. Senate? (Answer – my token throw-away vote for a Republican. The only good thing about the Senate race this year is that Loretta Sanchez will be leaving the House.)
3. Did vote on paper ballot (yes), machine, or dropped off a mail-in ballot.
Yeah…this is really aggravating. LeBron obviously intentionally baited him into a pretty mild reaction by doing a big no-no (stepping over someone after tossing him to the ground). LeBron is one of the smartest players in the league, and he never loses his cool. He calculated this was his best (only?) chance of winning game 5, and then he lobbied for the league to look at it after the game.
I can’t argue too much with the Flagrant to Draymond. He seemed to pull his punch so there was minimal contact, but once you earn a reputation as a groin shot artist you don’t get the benefit of the doubt.
"Kraut will get you through times of no money better than money will get you through times of no kraut."
I completely forgot they were back home tomorrow…Honestly, if he can’t be in Oracle, but wants to get in the second the game ends for the party, there’s nowhere else to be but the Coli. They have TVs there and everything.
At least I went up to Lambeau Field today. What they’ve done with that place is quite spectacular. The Packers give a nice tour and their “Hall of Fame” is pretty good, though omitting about 20 years of complete suck there in the 70s and 80s. Something I didn’t know, and maybe Jennifer should be aware of: the entire original lower bowl is aluminum benches, no chair backs, a la many college stadiums but something you don’t see much of in major league sports.
Miller Park is meh. Chase Field in Phoenix makes me think “baseball in a 747 hangar”, this one feels like “baseball in a warehouse”…those two are very similar. I haven’t seen a game with the roof open at either place so that probably influences my opinion. This being a sausage town, they still have free sauerkraut alongside the onions at all the condiment bars.
Some stadiums have them as a feature; what I meant was, EVERY SEAT in Lambeau Field is a backless bench unless you’ve forfeited your kid’s college education in favor of club seats.
Second period was great too, lots of action even without a goal. It’s good to see the Sharks hitting more, Burns is being beastly. And Jones, holy moly he made some great saves.
Amazing performance by Jones. That kind of goalie dominance is something the Sharks have really lacked in prior Cups, even though they’ve had some good goalies none of them had ever taken over a game or series. He gives them a good chance to send it to seven.
No Valencia and no Davis make the lineup something something.
… even shittier than normal?
[looks at scoreboard]
yes
old friend chris carter
wait, we are doing this alanso at third thing?
butler is getting peak crosby
Awesome play by Manaea!
yes kudos
listening to ueker. its awsone because the mic is too hot, seemingly by design. gives a good olde tyme feel
Since our opponent is so closely associated with beer I think I’ll make tonight a whiskey night.
i hope av wore spirits underwear instead of beer
not sure if me or misspelling.
or what it means.
Speaking of oaves, Billy Butler.
billy. butler. bounce.
i don’t hate this performance from manaea
the second carter hr was preceded by a should be out and a good pitch hit for a sing’e
It really feels like 20 years from now, when he’s long retired, 275 lbs. and playing beer league softball, some savvy big league team will sign Chris Carter to a 3-day contract just to homer against the A’s.
and i still won’t be able to be mad at him
That smile!
This. Cant quit Trogdor. Still my favorite jersey even though I got to wear it for exactly 1 game while he was with the A’s.
Still annoyed we traded him for Lowrie.
Thanks, and go As.
Unlovable force meets hateable object.
i’m guessing this is the final primary results?
lowrie is using a JL bat
walk vogt, butler triple paly
There‘s the Carter I remember.
The speed of Butler giving the SS too much time to think was a nice touch.
Why the FK is Coghlan
batting with 2 outs?Fixed.
I like this fix the best. Much more existential.
Why the FK is Coghlan batting
with 2 outs?lol
ah well
Too bad you are not allowed to retroactively reverse the Semien and Coughlan ABs.
Just got exit-polled, bitches!
Please tell me you Dr K’d the poll and told them why you couldnt vote for Romney.
Pretty boring, actually.
Who was on the R ballot for president?
Trump, Cruz, Kasich, a few others.
I selected the blank slot, then wrote in “this vote intentionally left blank”.
That’s awesome. Should’ve at least written in Rickey though.
that would require voting twice.
This top-2 senate primary is so weird. I wonder how many republicans even bother to vote that race in the fall.
He told them who he voted for in 2020.
Greetings, Butt of Thunder. Miss you.
Hey you!
Head, shoulders, knees and toes.
It’ll be like (contender) getting a tender-groined ace at the deadline!
We’re hilariously screwed.
Hahn looks pretty bad. Straight fastball, no put away pitch.
i know none of you are watching, but that would be unlucky if it weren’t for jesse sucking so muxh
Also when your best hitter is Vogt, and your second best hitter is … Semien? ….
Soaker can consider his trip a success if the A’s don’t get no hit.
Actually that was the thing that would have made the Milwaukee segment successful.
brewers tv guys just said coglin was “making a home in oakland”
Probably he just dug a survival bunker.
yay?
Thanks, and go As.
w00t?
Yay.
Oakland needs an Arismendy!
naw, overrated
didn’t the cubs just call up their last big outfield prospect?
this seems like a very bad move for them
I’m trying to understand what they possibly think he adds in value to a good team.
They owed us one for the Russell/Shark trade.
So we traded Aaron Brooks for Alcantara + 2 months of suck.
-1.6 WAR in two months is a truly remarkable amount of suck.
The lord put Chris Coghlan in Oakland for a reason, and it appears that reason was to make Max Muncy seem like an upgrade.
Cogs4Crap
I laughed.
Kogs4Krap
Curse both of you for the earworm.
At least the A’s didn’t just trade for James Shields.
Or sign him in the first place.
its like both team wanted to get worse
Surely Tyler Ladendorf will start a 9th inning rally.
At least we’re not losing by 20.
i don’t know why you people though the warriors had a chance today. isn’t basketball totally fixed?
Well, Steph did look like he’d been roofied…
Was he out with Hudson the night before?
Too soon, man. On both.
No way! The warriors had the best regular season, their shit HAS to work in the playoffs.
so, tell me again how its not fixed

Inexcusable decision. I hope Curry and Klay each drop 50. I’m trying not to hope someone flattens LeBron in the first couple minutes.
I can’t argue too much with the Flagrant to Draymond. He seemed to pull his punch so there was minimal contact, but once you earn a reputation as a groin shot artist you don’t get the benefit of the doubt.
He’s apparently not allowed in the arena until the game is over. I think they need to open up the West Side Club for a watch party with Draymond.
I heartily endorse this proposal as I will be at the A’s game tomorrow.
I completely forgot they were back home tomorrow…Honestly, if he can’t be in Oracle, but wants to get in the second the game ends for the party, there’s nowhere else to be but the Coli. They have TVs there and everything.
Excellent
Just read they have asked him to throw out the first pitch.
Can he DH too?
Or at least punch Butler in the groin?
.429/.500/.714 so far in June.
Trade him now!! His value will never be higher!
We should put up billboards in the cities of any contender*
*(Billboard contains stats only, not pictures of sir eats-a-lot)
On pain of $500 fine. He’ll be there.
At least these games have been quick.

Aren’t the Giants bleachers backless? One of those things (like pitchers hitting) that is traditional and awful.
Some stadiums have them as a feature; what I meant was, EVERY SEAT in Lambeau Field is a backless bench unless you’ve forfeited your kid’s college education in favor of club seats.
they sell those stadium seat, yeah?
yes.
its nice when you are walking around and the area is inevitably empty, but its a terrible way to watch a game
I did know about Lambeau, but I’ve fucking given up on that trip. Fucking foot. I can’t stand or walk right now, and it is pissing me off.
i give up on this team
“We’re lacking consistency in all areas,†Stephen Vogt said.
They seem pretty consistent right now.
vince doesn’t understand your statement they are the definition of inconsistency
The reality is, they are the definition of inconsistency and confidence.
Their lack of constistency is starting to diminish my constancy as a fan.
Any reason to be overly excited for the draft tonight?
only if i go in round 2
wow. harsh critique of the A’s radio broadcast.
Counterpoint: fangraphs put them in the top ten (but they also like Kuiper and Fosse)
So scoring first and early not a panacea either, it seems. Exciting though!
Second period was great too, lots of action even without a goal. It’s good to see the Sharks hitting more, Burns is being beastly. And Jones, holy moly he made some great saves.
Third period was even better!
I cannot believe the Sharks won that game. Martin Jones bettered about 2.5 periods worth of Penguins dominance. Wow.
Amazing performance by Jones. That kind of goalie dominance is something the Sharks have really lacked in prior Cups, even though they’ve had some good goalies none of them had ever taken over a game or series. He gives them a good chance to send it to seven.
Ganja Daily Double: At Golden Gate Fields today we have Seedsandstemsagain running in the 4th race, and Smoked Too Many in the 8th.
Great song.
