I said Vin Scully, not Dick Enberg. Anyway, the Reds are terrible. The A’s play 11 straight starting on Monday vs. the Twins (12-34), the Astros (19-28), the Brewers (19-26) and the Reds (15-31). Four of the worst five teams in baseball, everybody but the Braves (12-32). Of course all those teams are saying, whew, we get Oakland for a series.
Yeah. Technically that’s not a very skilled move, but IMO shows that the kid is fearless.
Bobby Wood playing well is awesome. Gives me real hope that we’re going to have replacements for guys like Dempsey, Altidore’s hamstring, Zusi, Zardes, etc.
And I have to say: mikev is one of my favorite people on here
-slusser.
He’s strong, fearless, and smart, in addition to being super technical and pretty fast. Looks like the real deal. I imagine Klinsmann will use him as an impact sub in the Copa, but it has to be tempting to just toss him right into the starting lineup.
He’s been doing that with Toronto this year, taking on the holding mid / 6 / sit back and distribute type of role. As much as Jones has been part of the attack with the midfield in Colorado, and doing the same with the National team, it should work.

@GM: I’m rooting for Tampa. TB offers more contrast than the stylistic similarity to the Sharks which Pittsburgh has. But mostly, as a Philly native, fuck Pittsburgh.

Credit or dismiss this as you will. A guy I work with, credible, serious type, said his friend a bartender at the Claremont told him Draymond closed the bar there last night.

Not dead yet. And, at least to my untrained eye, it didnt seem like one of those “8-5 create artificial drama by calling everything for the champs” games the NBA has at times.
That was my thought too. I’d feel pretty good about game 7 if they can get there. Hard not to be afraid about going back to where they got blown out twice.

As crazy as it is to say about this Warriors team, I think they need to slow down and play a little more conservatively in Game 6. This Thunder team, especially at home, is the one team in the league that may be better than the Warriors in a chaotic, up and down game. They need to cut out the turnovers, and focusing on executing in the half court on both ends, where I think they have the advantage. That plus improving their effort on rebounds and loose balls would give them a good chance to force game 7.
I’m starting to think Curry’s off stretch is more symptom than cause. Both the turnovers and poor rebound/loose ball production cool the Warriors offensive flow. People have talked about the lack of ball movement and that’s true, but they may underestimate how much the W’s offensive flow has been disrupted by the ball possession struggles. Even when he’s hitting 30 footers Steph’s shot is taken in rhythm when the team’s going well. But mostly not in this series.

this may be the end of washington at third
This one doesn’t look like a winner.
I fled to the Vin Scully game (Scott Kazmir vs. Dan Straily).
Kazmir: 5 IP, 67 pitches, 10 K.
oh my

it takes 8 to win
I fking hate Billy Burns.
rc+ 76
so basically, nobody came in to eat a few innings
takes 12 to win
takes 13 to win
Don’t forget to turn out the lights, Ed.
takes 14 to win
damn
Yay Sharks!
Indeed. Very exciting
Who would have thought that it would be the Sharks advancing and the Warriors clinging?
Hype Train full speed ahead.
The kid is 17 years old, getting 1st team minutes for Dortmund, and did this for the National Team last night against Ecuador.
Thanks, and go As.
Kid is deceptively strong! Getting him and Nagbe into the first team gives me some hope for the next couple of years.
Yeah. Technically that’s not a very skilled move, but IMO shows that the kid is fearless.

I mean if it’s him or Zardes as the choice, it’s a no brainer.
If they are gonna do that 4-3-3 again like last night:
Wood
Pulisic Bedoya
Nagbe
Bradley Jones
FabJo Cameron Brooks Yedlin
Guzan
Thanks, and go As.
That is a damn good lineup, as long as Bradley can be disciplined enough to sit deep. Let Jones roam a bit and Nagbe pull the strings.
Johnson + Pulisic on the left side could be devastating.

More like the kneel era
I’m amazed that Houston is still half a game behind the A’s. And Altuve is leading AL in bWAR.
Who do Sharks fans want to see win tonight’s game 7?
If the Lightning win, the Sharks have home ice. If the Penguins when, the Sharks have road ice.
I would gladly have settled for the Curly Neal era.

Well, now we know it’s the Penguins. And really, if the Sharks are going to finally win a Cup, how better than to do it by beating Pittsburgh?

That might be a good thing.
So far so good!

It’s unfortunate that halftime overlaps with the Game 7 2nd intermission.
That was stressful. Still alive though.

Agreed. And the Warriors were the better team. Be interesting to see how OKC handles it when it’s close in the 4th quarter Saturday.

Avoiding turnovers and winning the rebounds. W’s will win if they do those things.
Would help if Curry could be good.

I don’t know about that. He’s supposed to be the only guy on earth who can create clean 3s.
Instead, he’s shooting more like an average NBA player. That’s a lot of points left on the table.
They handled it…poorly.
Donovan is whining, but he’s full of shit imo.
This Heimlich story is the best thing ever!
even in the world of stories about lower-abdominal pulsations, best ever is ever so ephemeral.
