FKin error messages
Good Graveman’s appearance was brief.
KHRushed
“Three Caught Stealings in the top of the third for Kendall Graveman!!” — Vince
Fosse spent an entire half inning going on about how the best part of spring training is the slightly different varieties of kettle corn available at the various parks.
I wonder if they smoked up together before the game.
Sorry guys–I decided to turn on the game to see how it was going.
JL!
Hey! Did FK get hacked? What’s up with the spammy posts?
We occasionally get some russkie bot spammers. Originally, 5Aces was getting the blame, but now they seem to have moved on the MikeV.
My plan is working.
I secretly started taking college classes and I just really need help with all these essays I have to write.
Thanks, and go As.
Don’t run on … Burns!?
Don’t run on Nomar Mazara – geez, his throw was ridiculous.
I did not think Billy Burns had that throw in him.
I hope the A’s opponents continue with this wonderful desire to make the third out at 3B.
English Major sighting.
Also, Ray and Glen, go FK yourselves if you don’t like the drumming.
I didn’t get the impression they didn’t like the drumming. They were more interested in the level of physicality/endurance it took to continue doing it.
Are A’s fans doing the tomahawk chop?! Can this please not become a thing?
Hi aardvark!
Hey! How are things around here these days?
We’ve had a grover sighting and our first DoctorK of the season, so we’re rounding into form.
Graveman has such mediocre stuff and command. When is Alvarez ready?
Sounds like he will make two more rehab starts.
An offense that could score more than 1 run against equally mediocre pitching would also be nice.
I thought the offense might actually be decent at the beginning of the year but they are pretty bad.
Last in the league in OBP and wRC+ is pretty shocking. It doesn’t help that those players also play horrid defense (last in the league in defensive runs).
And for the love of Ba’al, can they just fucking cut Butler already? If they’re not going to PH him for Coughlan in the 7th in such an obvious situation, then he’s just a total joke at this point.
Maybe Forst is just doing due diligence to make sure he can’t get a bag of balls for the guy before he cuts him.
i am hoping when valencia returns
Vince just said Aoki has hit in each of the 13 games in which he has played against Oakland. That surprises nobody.
What is Melvin thinking in letting Graveman attempt a 4th trip through the order?
At some point the starting pitchers need to re-take the 6th and 7th innings from the bullpen.
I added this up. We’re one-sixth of the way through the season at 27 games and the starters have recorded 444 outs, or 16.444/game…basically 5-1/3 innings on average. Your bullpen isn’t going to be good for very long at that pace.
After Khris khrushed that that Khanha gaff really hurts.
I reiterate: CATCH THE FKING BALL
FK this
quAlity teAse
As good a teAse as we’ll have all year…alas…
but ends with a wimper
But at least no spillage:
Oh this is genius.
Genius would be figuring out an easy way to pass them between front-row seat holders.
or spend $20
But the sharing economy!
Hey I already tried leaving a note for Ed taped under the seat, and they snuffed that out right quick. So good luck with that one!
been done before. only addition are the tactical puns. (is a “wall pass” a common term in english?)

Extremely good Champions League semifinal happening now if you’re into that sort of thing.
yerp.
serious drama
Simeone is out of his damn mind.
over the last weeks, i’ve come to the conclusion he’s… kind of an asshole.
putting it here because of the header portrait, a huge long article with so much in it. like moneyball if it’d been written by gramsci? some of the math seems iffy to me, though it doesn’t rely on math. the politics are fun. and the extended metaphor is an extended metaphor that seems to work, which can be easy to mistake for being true. that last part is where i’m still teetering and haven’t made up my mind.

I might be biased from watching the matches against Barca, but I just really FKing don’t like the way Atletico plays.
I don’t like bus parking.
To be fair they didn’t do it too much against Bayern, even after going up.
Thanks, and go As.
You’re never going to believe this but the Fiorina gambit didn’t work.
When has it ever?
Hahahahahaha he’s dropping out. That “ticket” lasted less than a week.
This is immediately after his speech.
what is wrong with those people?
Jeez – not only is Cruz a terrible senator and a deplorable human being, but he also fails at hugging.
at anything human contact.
They are merely exchanging long protein strings. If you can think of a simpler way, I’d like to hear it.
oh thank god! i thought they were trying to appeal to the african-american vote.
While the GOP silliness has its amusing moments, I’m noticing something about Hillary Clinton, namely that nobody really likes her.
Mostly irrelevant, thanks to the GOP’s choice of standard bearer.
You Bay Areans forget what it’s like out here in the wild.
False! We never knew!
I am still astounded that for the first time in my life, the is literally no one running for President that I would even considering voting for.
http://www.bealibertarian.com/biography/
Sad to say that he would be no worse than Trump.
That’s some quality spin about the guy he [allegedly] killed in Belize while “harnessing the medicinal properties” of plants there.
Wait, I thought Gary Johnson was the Libertarian nominee. Not so?
Not yet. Convention in a few weeks.
She’s going to be a perfectly good president. Not Obama-level, but few are.
I struggle to see what makes her so “unlikeable” other than being an ambitious woman who has been in the public eye for a long time. I get people disagreeing with her on policy, or not finding her all that inspiring, but she is totally likeable to me on a personality level.
yeah, this.
she is more hawkish than me, but everyone is
Well, that and that she and Bill have been attacked for a solid 25 straight years by half the country, with any number of obvious lies being reported as differences of opinion.
Yeah, I was talking about this yesterday and I think this is a big part of it. Though she does tend to shift her opinions based on which way the wind is blowing – some call it a flip-flop, others adapting.
Sure. There’s some of that, and she’s definitely less slick at triangulating than Bill. (which is not, of course, and endorsement of triangulation).
But I think she’s well positioned to keep things in check and win unsexy marginal victories while Congress is impossible. And I also think she’d pass better policy than Bernie (in the sense that it’d be realistic) if she got a cooperative congress.
she is more kerry like while shifting.
What are the prime examples of her flip flops? I know she has adjusted a bit on some things, but that’s inevitable and completely untroubling to me in a politician. She seems pretty consistent in her core principles, which is what really matters.
honestly its just sexism. people/press want to think they can speak truth to power, but they can’t really. its very very hard. but for some reason, they feel like they can confront the woman who has power. i firmly believe Phil Rodam would have had a more deferential press corps.
I don’t think it’s just sexism. Personality and charisma still matters a lot more than people want to admit, even for voters who are informed about issues. And, yeah, women are held to a somewhat different standard in that department, but I don’t think it’s that much different for her than for Gore or Kerry. They all lack the charisma of Bill or Obama (or Reagan, if you swing that way), and that gets translated into complaints about honesty or flip-flopping.
For me personally (as for you) her hawkishness on foreign policy is the real turn-off. Barbara Lee for President!
yesterday’s prime concerns is kinda alarming on all these topics.
—somewhat suggesting hill needs to take a bro pill, before the election becomes too much about male/female (something something voters’ lizard brain and T is the lizard king).
—they don’t say unlikeable; they do say liar (or nearly say liar, can’t remember if he walked it back). like there’s no there there anymore after all her political positionatin’.
—the basic outline of a moment in late capitalism that allows fascism to suddenly be “chosen.”
ick.
on the other hand, axelrod’s guest suggested that if elections act on a pendulum, and obama represents the nuanced careful leader that the populace is tired of and might swing toward T, then hillary herself is a more palatable step in the direction of hamfisting.
sigh.
You’re listening! Yay!
Prime Concerns was unsettling, but keep in mind that Andrew Sullivan is the king of the overreaction and premature freakout, and he has been hating on and occasionally smearing Hillary (and Bill) Clinton for more than 20 years now.
yeah, i was wondering who the hell he was.
Researching in preparation for my A’s road trip in a few weeks, I find out that the Lakefront Brewery tour in Milwaukee includes four 6-oz tasters plus a coupon for another free beer which can be redeeemed at local restaurants…before 6 p.m. Plane lands at 1:20, brewery tour at 3, game at 7. There may not be too much reporting from that first night at Miller Park. I’m trying to decide if I want to do other brewery tours in Milwaukee the following day…or whether a ~100-mile each way drive to Lambeau Field and the Packers Hall of Fame would be worth it, just to say I’ve been there (suggestions of how to kill off a day in Milwaukee before a night game are welcome).
I hope you’re staying downtown – several of the bars there offer free shuttles to and from the game, all you have to do is have a drink. I think there are some bars in other neighborhoods that do this too. I think we did it from theMilwaukee Brat House.
No, I’ll be staying at a Best Western within walking distance of Miller Park. Downtown seemed to have $$$ hotel pricing so I opted for the convenience to the stadium. But, the Brat House is on the list of places to redeem the free beer coupon! The Cincinnati hotel is the combination downtown/ballpark stay, it’s in Covington KY but a walk across the bridge to the park there.
I’ll try to remember to ask Milwaukee native brian.only when I see him at our softball game tomorrow.
Between the Sharks game (1-1 mid-2nd period) and the Warriors (7:40 tip) the A’s aren’t going to win the screen time battle here tonight.
Don’t worry, you’re not missing much.
