Boy, when Sonny decides to put on a shitshow it’s quite a production.
65 pitches!
Other than that, Mr. Mundy, how’s the game?
Rally time
Damn
I would swear a guy who looks exactly like Henderson Alvarez just walked by the CSN camera in the A’s dugout. Does he have a doppelganger on the team, or is he visiting?
I think Slusser mentioned that he is visiting.
I’m trying to decide whether dude behind home plate is wearing a “Make America Great Again” hat, or an ironic rewording of same.
Oh boy, Gray has been pulled after 2 innings. Not good.
Well and truly khrushed.
They should report the distance of that in kilometers.
Khilometers.
Luckily we can only lose one game tonight. We deserve to lose about three.
Well, Butler did his part.
“Well, that second three-run home run hurt.” Yes, Ray. It did a little.
Not quite dead yet!
Liam Hendriks now has an xFIP of 2.92 and an ERA of 9.26.
11.2 IP
14 Ks
0 BBs
13 R
That’s unbelievable.
Holy shit.
Thanks, and go As.
only 1 HR!
2
2!
I officially have Sonny concerns.
Whassthamatterwithsonny?
Bobby Knight endorsing Trump is the least surprising thing ever, but this headline is still great.

I really hate to type this, but the Anaheim Ducks are truly on their way to becoming the Oakland A’s of the NHL.
Things are lining up nicely , eh?
Anybody else having issues with the comment auto update unread thing not working?
Thanks, and go As.
The Matt McBride call up is interesting. By all accounts, it was done to circumvent his opt out and he’ll be going down when Manaea comes up.
From the player’s perspective, getting 3 days of a MLB paycheck and the pay bump associated with being on the 40 man for the rest of the season is nice, but it’s probably still much less than his presumed Japan deal. I don’t know if, internally, he and his agent are pissed about it, but I’ve never heard of too many cases like this where the team is blatantly exploiting the loophole in an opt out.
Man, the Rockets suck.
FKing quitters. If I was a Rockets season ticket holder, I’d sue for a refund.
So far the Hound’s bend-but-don’t-break approach is matching zeros with our offense’s don’t-make-em-break-a-sweat approach.
Odd choice by the Detroit catcher to fake the throw to second.
Reddick with a big two-out RBI single? The hell.
Let me know when that happens in October.
JR is going to play well enough to grab the A’s one All-Star roster spot this year.
Well, that was short lived.
Bassitt is just not very good.
@mp: Yeah, a one run lead was too much leash for the Hound to handle.
Wow, that was some little league shit.
Our Gray/Manaea/Alvarez/Hill/Hahn rotation is going to be great though.
I truly believe this.
I don’t know about “great”, but “very good” sounds reasonable. This season will require a lot of patience though; I’m not expecting Manaea to be Cy Young right out of the box.
Throw strikes you fker
The thing about the A’s Family Pack is who in the hell needs four bags of peanuts for four people?
Stomper.
High perceived value; extremely low cost.
small bags
Batting practice pitch
He’ll be introduced to Crazy Reba in short order.
Pull him, Bob.
And on April 28th, 2016, Anthony Gose put down the hound.
Just terrible.
Bob’s really letting Bassitt take his lumps today.
Waited until he was sure the ligament had snapped.
6 innings from the bullpen yesterday, more than 4 today, and a rookie starting tomorrow. Also one full week before the next off day.
They should send down Bassitt for a reliever to tide them over until his turn comes up again, at which point Hahn.
I appreciate that mlb.tv allows me to overlay the radio sound, but I wish it wouldn’t revert back to the TV audio every time it comes back from commercials.
5-5 road trip is better than I expected though.
This would be a good day for Butler’s pitching debut.
This is painful to watch.
…and the sun is coming out here and last night’s snow is melting…
Has anyone every tried explaining the concept of situational hitting to Khrazy Khris?
Is that where you try to hit it 450 feet instead of 500?
Just nice easy contact.
Thanks, and go As.

How are there only two runs when Sanchez walked 7?!
Meh
There’s motherfking steaks on the motherfking train!
Only the good die young.
How is it possible for Cal to have the #1 pick in the NFL draft despite being so incredibly bad at football?
This has been going on for years – there have been a lot of very good NFL players from Cal over the past decade plus while the team has not had great success overall. Including all positions, too, not just QB and RB. Either it points to some deep failings in the program or it just goes to show how hard it is to have a really good team even with some very good players every year.
Cal has 38 active players in the NFL, according to Pro Football Reference; that’s tied for 17th among all schools, and ranks 4th in the Pac-12. Goff is our 11th first-round draft choice since 2000. And we did go from 1-11 to 5-7 to 8-5 in Goff’s three years, so “incredibly bad” isn’t really right (ask Bed about that).
That’s not a bad track record since 2000. Can you tell how many of the 16 schools ahead of us have finished #1, or been in the BCS bowls? Or how many of the 3 Pac12 schools have been to the Rose Bowl?
You can sort here to get the list; I’m pretty sure the answer to both questions is “all of them” although Miami, which leads with 61 active players, has been rather ordinary in the last decade or so.
Actually Tennessee just squeaks in with a January 2000 BCS bowl appearance. They’re somewhat similar to Cal since Peyton Manning was there, although Cal has hit lower lows.
Hard-hitting run-stopping Safety at #14, I like it. Very glad the dope-mask guy didn’t drop to the Raiders spot.
1. He also spells his name correctly.
2. I wonder how much money Laremy Tunsil cost himself by being a dumbass.
2. College kid smokes weed. News at 11.
Thanks, and go As.
Smokes weed on film which is then posted to his hacked Twitter supposedly as part of an extortion scheme by his estranged stepfather who he was arrested for assaulting last year. #notallcollegekids
Makes no sense.
If you’re a crazy stepdad that wants to extort money from your NFL caliber stepkid, why would you hurt his draft stock and cost him several million dollars?
Thanks, and go As.
This appears to be the last vengeful scorched earth FU from stepdad after a long campaign.
I don’t know what you guys are talking about, but it sounds amazing. #dopemask
Last night/yesterday just before the NFL draft started, Laremy Tunsil (projected top 5 pick) had pictures posted on his twitter or instagram or somethign of him smoking weed from a gas mask.
He was at the draft at the time.
HIs account was hacked (allegedly) but it was actually him smoking.
Thanks, and go As.
Dee Gordon is a roid freak. 80 games.
Thanks, and go As.
That must be why his home run rate doubled last year.
I would say maybe 6 of his 8 HRs are legit. Maybe.
Thanks, and go As.
Odd. Maybe they figured Hahn was coming up soon anyway, so maybe hold Graveman back a day or two for some extra rest? I sure hope this doesn’t relate to Sonny’s poor start Wednesday.
After yesterday, Bassitt to the DL seems like a strong possibility. But who knows.
Countdown to Tommy John announcement.
I guess Triggs goes right back down after the game to make room for Hahn.
but now he gets a home jersey
LANGERHANS!
Thanks, and go As.
Triggs 3/5
Ladendorf 2/1
Canha 3/1
Butler DFA 15/1
Cool, if Beane bets $2 million we come out even.
They’re doing it for my fantasy team!
cap does this mean gravemean for my FRS game?
We can console one another.
all these fun pitchers to watch and we get…well, he had a good game in NY
The people who run NFL teams are psychopaths.
The Mets had a fairly big inning.
Cespedes now holds the Mets record for RBI in one inning.
catch the FKing BALL
first dr. k of the year!
/takes a bow
//dropping the ball makes me forget to check which thread I’m in
///eh, who am I fooling?
Still just April but in midseason form.
