New Year Grill/Lounge/Whatever 422

  1. Tomsula out. Way to set a nice guy up for a fall, assholes.
  2. Assholes. We’ll see if these guys decide to commit suicide by federal agent, and see if the government manages to creates some new Ruby Ridge-like martyrs.
  3. Stability in the Middle-East – eh, who needs it. The Saudis are at fault for executing a guy on what looks like politically-based charges, and the Iranians are at fault for not maintaining the sanctity of a foreign mission on their soil (of course, they have a history of this).

    1. There’s quite a bit of speculation that Tomsula was the one who undermined Harbaugh. I just hope they get a good coach this time around.

      Yeah, I’ve heard that too. My ‘nice guy’ characterization is based on some things I’ve heard from friends, especially a couple I know who take their son every year to the Niners’ open house for families with special-needs kids. Of course, what Tomsula does (or did) behind closed doors is a completely different matter.

      Very, very unlikely they get a good coach. That position is poisonous now.

        Eh. There are only 32 jobs like that in the world. If York is really going to stay out of the way, as he said in his press conference this morning, and they’re willing to spend money as they also said, there’s no reason for it to not be a good job.

        Brand new stadium
        Reasonably high pick
        Reasonably good defense
        TONS of cap room
        Ability to staff as they want

        The early rumors are Sean Payton, Chip Kelly, and Hue Jackson.

          Only one of those three could be considered “good.” And there are number of openings. They’ll get a coach, obviously. But the good ones that are out there have a lot to choose from right now and I wouldn’t buy into the idea that York stays out of the way and whoever takes the job, still likely won’t have the control a good coach would want.

        Bundy has repeatedly said the group is prepared for the long-haul. However during a tour of the site earlier in the day, the Guardian was shown a food storage room that did not look like it could sustain a dozen men for more than a few weeks.

        It included a cardboard box of apples and oranges, a few dozen pots of instant ramen, 24 cans of chicken noodle soup, a similar number of cans of sweetcorn, peas, beans and chili, and 20 boxes of macaroni and cheese.

        There were also three sacks of potatoes, one bag of flour, another of rolled oats, boxes of raisins, a single bag of pretzels and one granola bar.

    Just a quick note of thanks. I really enjoyed rounding in the ER prior to the holidays.

    Several folks wanted to make sure I recognized you. They stated you are an excellent nurse and great team player. Many spoke about your incredible assessment skills and your ability to prioritize and always get the job done. They appreciate your role as a preceptor and charge nurse…..but most of all they spoke of the incredible compassion you bring to patient care and everything you do.

    Thanks so much for helping make Duke Hospital a great place to receive care and work. You’re the best.

    Do any of you have a Capital One rewards card? I’ve been using the southwest mileage card for about 15 years because I always spent enough with my business expenses to get a companion pass every year. Now that I won’t be getting one, I was thinking I should see if there is a better card out there. The problem is until you sign up, you can’t see the rewards part of the website to see how many points are needed for air tickets, etc.

    • nevermoor Jan 6,2016 12:56 pm || Up

      I just use Citi’s double cash card (2% on everything, no limits). Simplifies things immensely, though I suspect targeted rewards cards like the Southwest card give you more than 2% on the rewards you use.

      • Soaker Jan 6,2016 3:35 pm || Up

        That Citi card is the one I’ve seen recommended most often in objective discussions, for those who pay it off every month. Anybody who carries a balance should probably forget about rewards and seek out the lowest interest rate.

        What I discovered Blew. My. Mind. -- Pat Boone
        • nevermoor Jan 6,2016 4:10 pm || Up

          Agreed. I’m assuming you aren’t carrying a balance, but then interest rate differences would be your biggest thing since they swamp rewards.

          It’s a great card. Nothing else gives you 2% on everything (and most don’t go above 2% on “special” categories). You can still get better percentages on some things (my Costco Amex is 5% on gas, so I use it for that), and I’m not sure an airline card isn’t a better deal if you actually buy enough plane tickets to use the rewards. But cashing in is easy (I can go click through to a statement credit any time I want, no redemption hoops whatsoever) and there is no reward cap.

            It looks like Fidelity has a 2% card as well, but yeah, that’s pretty rare now.

      I’m going to ask something else now.

      I was thinking about it, and I don’t really fly anywhere. Using the Southwest rewards card wouldn’t be the best idea for me —

      SO.

      I’m thinking that a HOTEL rewards card would be way better. With the kids doing travel tournaments, etc, at least a few per year require hotel stays. I know I’ll need them rather than airfare.

      So what’s the hot ticket for free hotel stays through points on a card? I figure I’ll start paying all my monthly bills, utilities, etc with the card and then just pay it off monthly.

      And I have to say: mikev is one of my favorite people on here -slusser.

      Thanks, and go As.

      • Soaker Jan 6,2016 11:15 pm || Up

        For the way you want to use it, a flexible travel rewards card such as Bank of America Travel Rewards might be a good choice. You would charge those monthly bills to accumulate points, then when you travel you also charge the hotel bill to the card, and when the credit card bill comes in you use your points as a credit against the hotel bill. The regular accumulation rate is 1.5% on all of the bills you charge, but if you make sure to charge $1000 on the card in the first three months you get a 20,000 point bonus (worth $200).

        The credit cards that are tied to specific hotel chains’ rewards programs…blah. The ones that cater to higher end travelers can have good rewards rates but you’re staying in $250/night rooms so those points will be gone in a big hurry. The ones affiliated with lower-end chains usually don’t have very good accumulation rates, and there’s the problem where you can get a room on a February Tuesday night in Bakersfield for 10,000 points but a room on a summer weekend in San Diego requires 80,000 points. With one like the B of A card, you shop around for the best hotel deal you can find, charge it to the card and then just apply your credit at a penny a point to your bill. Not really as sexy as free nights, but more practical I think.

          Ah. That makes sense, and is exactly what I was looking for. Thx.

          I also found NerdWallet which has a pretty good breakdown of rewards cards.

          I’m thinking either that BofA Travel Rewards, or the Capital One Venture.

          BofA: No annual fee, 1.5 points/dollar, 20K bonus points

          CapOne: $59 annual, 2 miles/dollar, 40K bonus points.

          And I have to say: mikev is one of my favorite people on here -slusser.

          Thanks, and go As.

          • Soaker Jan 7,2016 9:57 am || Up

            That Capital One sign-up bonus is good. Notice that you have to charge $3000 over the first 3 months to earn it vs. $1000 for the B of A. The higher earning rate, 2% Capital One vs. 1.5% B of A, plus that bonus, would offset the annual fee for a number of years.

            The Capital One website answers batgirl’s original question indirectly. Notice they say the 40,000 bonus miles = $400 in travel credit, so the redemption rate is one cent per mile applied as a bill credit.

                Also note that the “first 3 months” is from the date of acceptance, not the date you receive the card (2-3 weeks later).

            • batgirl Jan 7,2016 11:48 am || Up

              Yeah, it looks like the Capital One Venture is what I’m going to try. I wasn’t familiar with the bill credit aspect of things, so that really does make it apples to apples compared to what I can shop for with Southwest miles.

              • Soaker Jan 7,2016 12:27 pm || Up

                I’ve had the Southwest card for a few years and it’s great for getting free flights on Southwest. Anything else like hotels and rental cars, the point usage requirement is a total ripoff. Those Capital One points can be applied equally at 100 points per dollar to any charge classified as “Travel”: hotels, airlines, rental cars, the discounters like Priceline and Expedia, but at least on my report not VRBO.

                • Soaker Jan 7,2016 1:02 pm || Up

                  Yes, because of the sign-up bonus. This assumes you can charge $3000 in the first 3 months and pay it off without any interest charge.

                  Assume you intend to charge $500 in monthly bills to either card. Here is the analysis over 3 years:

                  B of A:
                  Sign up: 20,000 points
                  Monthly charges: $500/month x 1.5 points per dollar x 36 months = 27,000 points
                  Total: 47,000 points = $470 travel credit

                  Capital One:
                  Sign up: 40,000 miles
                  Monthly charges: $500/month x 2 miles per dollar x 36 months = 36,000 miles
                  Total: 76,000 miles ($760)
                  Less annual fee for years 2 and 3 (first year is free): $59/year x 2 years = $118
                  Net: $760 – $118 = $642 travel credit

      Voters getting gritty!

    • Soaker Jan 27,2016 10:08 am || Up

      Nobody’s admitting to voting for Kendall. Chaz Scoggins was a vote for Eckstein. I had to Google “Who the FK is Chaz Scoggins?” Evidently he’s the long-time official scorer at Fenway Park. And he does NOT like stat nerds.

      OPS as the defining statistic of a hitter does an injustice to the David Ecksteins of the world who don’t have power but can beat an opponent in a myriad of other ways.

      And all these complex mathematical formulae! I don’t believe there is any formula — and many have been promulgated — that can determine whether or not someone is a good defensive player. Only your eyes can tell you whether or not someone can play.

    Thoughts on Chandler AZ area compared to Portland/Tualatin?

        I know, but I need some other thoughts to add to my spreadsheet and I trust you FKers.

        Technically I have no offers yet. But AZ says I am THE finalist and I am flying down next week for a final interview. OR will have a decision early next week as well.

        And to add to the questions you had I have more wonderful stuff: AZ probably has at least a car allowance if not a car itself. OR lets me switch to instate tuition for the eldest Ace. That alone may be the deciding factor. If he decides he does want to stay in Corvallis it is near a $100k difference over the next 3 years.

        I spent about 3 hours yesterday just driving around Portland going “God I love this, God I love that”. So I also have to see if that is just me loving “Not Fresno” or not.

        Either way this is all better than the 2015 routine of sitting at home hoping for phone calls…

          If he decides he does want to stay in Corvallis

          Oh crap, Dad just got a job in Portland and now he’ll be an hour away. Ugh. “Dad, Corvallis is too cold for me. I think I want to go to Arizona State.”

          Portland is a beautiful city, nowhere near the sprawl of Phoenix. The car and car allowance would be nice because you’ll be in that car a lot. In Oregon ocean is thisaway, mountains and gorge are thataway and Portland itself has plenty of walking and bicycling opportunities’ Phoenix has desert parks at a few nearby peaks but within the metropolitan area the car rules absolutely. It isn’t remotely close for me, but you like Fresno. The weather difference seems to offset, and for every annoying liberal slacker in Portland there’s an annoying conservative nitwit in Phoenix. That cost of living part is pretty big in Portland; from what I read housing has become almost as insane as the Bay Area.

            It would take at least 5x the salary to make me choose Phoenix over Portland. Maybe 10x. Phoenix might well be #1 on my list of US places I’d least want to live. Yikes.

              The ballplayers who winter there, which is a hell of a lot of them, are almost universally in Scottsdale. Areas labeled “Scottsdale” probably cover 100 square miles or more though. If your job is in Chandler you’ll want to limit your search to areas south and east of Tempe.

          Yeah, I’m with you Mike. I’m not sure why Jackson is an LOL hire. He’s been a good OC and I thought it was stupid when the Raiders fired him after one 8-8 season. I’d take him over a lot of the other guys out there.

          But seriously, folks...
          • FreeSeatUpgrade Jan 9,2016 8:05 am || Up

            I think Cincy’s offensive success in despite Hue, not because of him. He relies heavily on gimmick plays, and as a head coach in Oakland never seemed to have the whole team pointed in the right direction. That 2011 Raider team was 7-4, then lost four of the last five games amid dissension and chaos. A final home win vs a lame Chargers team would have got them into the playoffs; instead they lost ugly and Hue loudly blamed everyone but himself for it.

            If you happen to have a great QB, receivers and an O-line already assembled I suppose Hue possibly wouldn’t fuck it all up. Is that what SF has?

              Wait…so FSU and I disagree on something football related? I’ll admit I haven’t watched enough Bengals football to intelligently write about Jackson’s play calling this year but I thought he was a good play caller with the Raiders. All I’ll say about his time with the Raiders is they still haven’t bested his 8-8 record since he was fired.

                2012 may belong on worst all-time lists. They got ZERO productive players.

                After 2010, though, I don’t see a single standout player (except maybe Aldon with a Justin Smith sized asterisk and maybe Carlos Hyde gets there). That’s absolutely awful for that many drafts. And its not like they’re loaded with good-but-not-great talent either.

                  2011: Culliver, Kilgore, and Bruce Miller are all solid NFL pros.

                  2012: Shit.

                  2013: Eric Reid was a pro bowler as a rookie. Patton will, IMO, be a solid WR next year.

                  2014: Ward was the #1 ranked slot corner by PFF this year. Hyde is REALLY good. Borland was fantastic until he walked. Aaron Lynch is becoming a high caliber pass rusher.

                  2015: Armstead was WAY better than expected for being so raw. Tartt is awesome. Eli Harold has a lot of potential as an OLB opposite Lynch. DeAndre Smelter is going to be a good WR next year when healthy. Pinion had a few rookie issues but should be an above average P for the next 10 years. Trent Brown was a 7th rounder who took over the starting RG job this year.

                  Baalke has been a lot better at creating depth via the draft than people give him credit for.

                  Did not know that about Ward. Cool!

                  “Solid NFL Pros” is not a standard for an NFL draft, though. That’s a great result in baseball, but a backup corner, backup OL, and good-not-great fullback isn’t a good year.

                  As for the more recent draft, I really hope your optimism bears out. I need some.

                  this guy I have known since he was a prosecutor. he is nuts, 0 judicial temperament.

                  we schedule things all the time over email, but only this guy does actual work like that. I believe when he was in civil, there were a few Judicial Counsel complaints from the real lawyers.

                  sadly, I don’t use a 170.6 on him because he is actually pretty smart and will be fair-ish on some issues, whereas a lot of our bench will rubberstamp

    If the NFL makes the Raiders stay in Oakland this will be awkward.

    Raiders officials in recent days told NFL officials and owners that city and county officials intentionally stalled in negotiations, admitted to acting in bad faith, making false promises and lying…(O)fficials from the city and county, which jointly operate O.co Coliseum, the Raiders charge, have reneged on promises and refused to make any significant contribution to a new stadium. The city has admitted, the Raiders said, to lying to the franchise…. In particular, the Raiders said the city and county reneged on a written proposal to contribute nearly 170 acres and $100 million in infrastructure to the new stadium project.

    A lot of good stuff in this long article. It’s completely unsourced but had to have come from the Raiders’ written relocation application, which has not previously been leaked to my knowledge. Also, that last sentence is 100% accurate.

        Promise is the wrong word. But the negotiation is all about “We can do $X if you do $Y” frameworks, all duly caveated and conditioned. The City side’s posture for a least awhile was that they’d provide land and infrastructure and the team would build the stadium. So if it’s true that they’re no longer offering that, the City definitely has “reneged” on that negotiating position.

        Actually, I suspect if a deal gets done it will pretty much still include that civic contribution.

      I feel like some of this has to come after so many people have said the last few weeks that MD was going to be left out because he was the only one that had shown any level of comittment to staying in the current home.

        I hope the Raiders can find a way to stay in the Bay Area. Honestly I wish Davis would sell the team to someone who can actually afford to own a team. If they move to LA I can’t imagine it will work out any better than it did the first time. Every game I went to down there I was struck how lifeless the crowds were. It might be the Northern Californian in me coming out but…LA sucks.

        But seriously, folks...
        • Soaker Jan 12,2016 11:41 am || Up

          I keep reading that if he’s denied LA, Mark would love to go to San Diego if it’s available. Spanos and the city are at the end of the line re a stadium, but there’s relatively recent precedent for a stadium deal getting done fairly quickly after the original team leaves (both Cleveland and Houston). Looking at Google Earth, I think there’s space to build a new stadium in the Qualcomm parking lot while the old one is still standing, though it might require tearing down a portion of Qualcomm while continuing to use it with the Cincinnati baseball stadiums being an example of that transition. Otherwise I suppose the team could be rented out for a couple years, possibly to London as a test case. I don’t think they would play a couple years in Oakland as a lame duck.

              San Antonio’s appeal is just that they have money, though (right?)

              Seems like it’d be a mistake for the NFL put a team there solely because it’s owner is (relatively) illiquid and a small market has cash on hand.

                The market’s not that small. It’s on par with a bunch of reasonably successful NFL markets. And northeastern Mexico might be a nice opportunity for cash over time.

                  7th largest city in the country, but 25th largest metro area and 33rd largest TV market. So viable, but at the smaller end.

      The franchise is also hindered, Raiders officials said, by lease that makes the club the “secondary tenant” to Major League Baseball’s Athletics at the stadium. NFL commissioner Roger Goodell has told the league’s owners that the Raiders’ stadium lease gives the Athletics or the stadium authority some game day revenues that typically go to NFL teams in other markets.

      Is this true? This sounds like bullshit. I don’t trust a goddamn word that comes out Goodell’s mouth, that’s for sure.

      • FreeSeatUpgrade Jan 12,2016 7:25 pm || Up

        No, this is also true. The A’s have gotten a chunk of Raiders game day concessions and in-stadium signage revenue since the return to Oakland. Because the deal wasn’t labyrinthian enough.

    • MikeV Jan 12,2016 2:04 pm || Up

      Near as I can tell, right now they took the Rams moving by themselves off the table.

      The vote will be for either the Raiders/Chargers to move to a privately financed stadium in Carson, or the Rams/Chargers to move to whatever the hell Kroenke is doing in Inglewood.

      If it’s the Rams/Chargers, and they don’t have Dodge sponsor the stadium, then they suck.

          I don’t think either LA stadium project is a done deal with bulldozers ready to go. Notably, the FAA and possibly Homeland Security have raised issues about Kroenke’s project due to proximity to LAX. There’s a lot of tax revenue tied to the retail and entertainment part of the Inglewood project, though, so I bet they would find a way to fast-track that one. I’m not sure where the Carson site stands with regard to matters like EIR.

        The NFL would much prefer that the Bay Area remain a two team market. We’re just too big and wealthy. I figure they give the City/County another year to work something out…and with Raiders/NFL resources now sweetened by ~$500 million or whatever, the City damn well better get it done this time. In a year or maybe two if this doesn’t happen, a quick move to St. Louis seems to me the most likely NFL 2nd choice.

          St. Louis is a two-time NFL loser. No way the NFL ever goes back there. The St. Louis Cardinals are a huge winner here, not that they really needed it. Spanos must really hate the notion of being Kroenke’s tenant in Inglewood, so another round in the San Diego battle in 2016 is forthcoming. There’s also an issue with temporary homes for two teams in LA, with USC planning on starting major upgrades at the Coliseum after their 2017 season (they intend to play in the Coliseum in 2018 but with drastically reduced capacity due to the construction). The Raiders’ situation is shoved to the back burner until the Chargers situation is resolved; once that is settled I would say new stadium in Oakland, sharing in Santa Clara, sharing in Inglewood, new stadium in San Diego and new stadium in San Antonio are all in play for the Raiders with it looking as muddled as the race for the GOP nomination at this time.

            For the Chargers the #2 spot in Inglewood seems less humiliating than slinking back to San Diego, And certainly more lucrative, which ought to salve Spanos’ wounded pride. Either way, two-time losers notwithstanding, STL seems to offer the NFL a lot more than SD does as a market. Plus Anheiser-Busch.

            I’d rank the remaining NFL markets St Louis, London, San Antonio, and then San Diego.

                It’s not a total dump, but as a St. Louis columnist admits:

                We rank 252nd of 381 metro areas for projected economic growth between 2014 and 2021 (U.S. Conference of Mayors study). That happens to be better than five National Football League cities (Pittsburgh, New Orleans, Cleveland, Detroit and Buffalo), but it’s nothing to boast about.

                “The bottom line is that the St. Louis economy is growing, but it’s growing at a modest pace, certainly a slower pace than the nation,” says Kevin Kliesen, an economist at the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis. “It’s been that way for a while.”

                San Diego is #72 in growth rate in that report (#1 is Provo-Orem and the highest-ranking major metropolitan area at #8 is Dallas-Fort Worth), and the starting point is an economy that was about 38% larger in 2014 than that of St. Louis. While San Diego is not the Bay Area because high tech pays a hell of a lot better than anything else including the military, it’s still a very good economic demographic.

                  Since 1950, St. Louis has lost two NFL teams, an MLB team, and an NBA team, and the NBA preferred paying the owners of its ABA team a nice chunk of its future TV revenues rather than let them in the league when the NBA swallowed the ABA.

                  If it weren’t for the Cardinals and the racism of their local police departments, we would think about St. Louis about as much as we think about Rochester.

            Huh? The Raiders came back in Oakland long before Lew joined the A’s as VP for stadium devt under Schott-Hofmann. That circumstance never changed during Lew’s time. What changed was Lew’s sense of the possibilities of greener south bay pastures. He overplayed his hand, and that’s his own mistake, not the City and not the Raiders.

              Well, what changed was the Warriors are leaving and the Raiders location is now heavily up in the air with no money really to build there. Now that the A’s are the most likely only team at the Coliseum, it becomes more doable.

    Matier and Ross say Libby is pushing for Howard Terminal:

    The A’s would prefer a new stadium to themselves at the Coliseum site — but Schaaf wants “an urban, walkable ballpark” that’s closer to downtown.

    Howard Terminal is one of five sites the city suggested in a 21-page report it recently handed to the team. The list also includes two spots at Laney College, one at Brooklyn Basin south of Jack London and the site of a U.S. Postal Service facility in West Oakland.

    For Schaaf, the likely best bet is still the 50-acre Howard Terminal, which has the advantage of being owned by the Port of Oakland. Only about 14 acres would be needed for a ballpark, with the rest open for other potential development.

        He’ll be the best offensive coach we’ve had since, I dunno, probably Mariucci.

        Which, of course, isn’t saying much. For all that Harbaugh was a great coach (and he was!), he and Fangio were terrible at making the offense work.

      elcroata asked a question a while back: At what point do you start to be seriously concerned about the consequences of a Clinton implosion? I would say now, with the GOP nominee being decided in the next six to eight weeks and Trump and Cruz out in front. I had assumed they would gravitate toward someone of marginal intelligence by now (Rubio, not that I agree with him on much of anything).

      • Glorious Mundy Jan 14,2016 4:01 pm || Up

        Meaning a Clinton implosion in the general that hands the election to whoever the Republicans nominate? I’m not that concerned, because I think the chances of her failing to beat Cruz or Trump are very small, and I like the upside of potential downballot losses for Republicans in such a scenario. She’s a strong candidate, and I just don’t see what would cause her support to fall off a cliff against either of those guys.

        However, I think there is a damn good chance either Trump or Cruz is going to be the nominee, and either of them as president is a horrifying thought.

        • Soaker Jan 14,2016 4:33 pm || Up

          That is my concern. I don’t take Bernie very seriously in spite of winning New Hampshire. The scenario is that Clinton clinches the nomination easily and then there’s some scandal that makes her unelectable. Also, just the fact that we’ve gone two Democrat terms, two GOP terms exclusively since 1944, with the sole exception of Jimmy Carter’s failure in 1980.

          What I discovered Blew. My. Mind. -- Pat Boone
          • andeux Jan 14,2016 4:45 pm || Up

            If there were a major non-blow-job-related Clinton scandal out there, don’t you think the Republicans would have uncovered it in the 23 years that they have been furiously searching for one?

            I’m a little more worried about something exogenous, like a stock market crash or a terrorist attack, pushing the electorate toward a change in leadership. But that could happen no matter who the nominees are.

          • Glorious Mundy Jan 14,2016 4:54 pm || Up

            The Republicans managed three terms in a row from 80 to 92. That’s not very instructive for the current environment, of course, but it’s not like there’s some iron law of politics at play here. Hell, Gore won the popular vote within two years of Clinton being impeached.

          • Glorious Mundy Jan 14,2016 5:06 pm || Up

            The problem is, over the last 10 years or so, the Republican party has trained its primary electorate to vote for crazies. Crazies like Cruz in Texas, and a ton of other nuts throughout the south and midwest. They have lost control of their base, and their base now regards even far right people like Rubio as too compromised to vote for.

            The hope that Rubio will emerge as the establishment candidate and win on that basis may be based on an outdated understanding of the party’s voters. In most of the early states especially (chiefly Iowa plus the whole south), being the GOP establishment candidate makes you unelectable.

      • andeux Jan 14,2016 4:08 pm || Up

        As in, Bernie beats Hillary, which hands the general election to Trump (or Cruz)?
        Still not very concerned, for a couple reasons.

        1) I still think Clinton will win the nomination by a pretty big margin, partly because she will have money and the party machinery working for her in the big states, and partly because unpledged superdelegates have a bigger role for the Democrats (about 20% of the votes) than for the Republicans, so it is still basically true that “the party decides.” (Presumably being selected in that way rather than truly elected as the nominee could also weaken her further for the general election, but not fatally so.)

        2) While I don’t believe the claims of the more enthusiastic Bernie supporters that he would actually be a stronger candidate in the general election than Hillary, I’m not sure he would necessarily lose either. A Bernie vs. Trump matchup is so far away from anything we have seen on the national level in our lifetimes that I don’t know how anyone could claim to really know how it would play out.
