A few disadvantages: driving distance, meaning you needed a friend with a car and a sober friend; I’m not a fan of super-thin-crust; and not college-student-cheap. When I was buying my own pizza (vs. events with free pizza) I was strictly Papa John’s for maximum cheapness.

What were they even trying to do on that play? Throw a quick screen to the side where everyone else was lined up? Because even without the awkward snap, running into an unblocked defender was not liable to gain yardage.

There was, but it was just because the whole right side of the line forgot to line up on the line of scrimmage.
It really seems like they were trying to do some form of the swinging gate that colleges love to do on extra points. But there are issues.
-You are supposed to line up in the gate and then move back if/when the defense actually defends it.
-You dont do it on a punt.
-When your coach asks you why you snapped it when you go back to the sideline you probably did something wrong.

When I was in about the fourth grade I had an idiot teacher who designed what amounted to a butterfly ballot version of a test. I was supposed to match Column A with Column B. He used numerals in both columns, so it went something like:

I expected Cal to be favored by about 3. Cal’s defense is nowhere near the caliber of Furd’s, but the Bears’ offense is at least Furd’s equal, probably a little more potent just based on coaching styles, assuming that Goff’s 5 Int’s were a one-off in the first truly meaningful game of his career.
