I imagine these games will be lost to our memories forever as nothing more than the count down to Hudson/Zito.
I will probably start watching as soon as the Grizzlies complete their destruction of Columbus and become the champs of AAA. (Shouldnt this mean we get promoted to MLB? To dream…)
Camelot sure fell apart, didn't it? -Steve McCatty
Oh yeah-we are playing the stRangers…
Yay!
I know…I’m pretty damn exciting.
hark! a lead!
The boys look serious. Ma, fetch my Scofield.
Kid starts his first game in AAA in the national championship game and throws like 7 1 hit innings. I want to be that kid.
Butler fails to take one for the team, then promptly hits into most predictable DP ever.
Ha ha, somebody thinks Mike Napoli is an outfielder.
“Injury Delay”. I assume it’s a fan having to watch this.
Day-to-day with bleeding from the eyeballs.
And it’s the Ghost of Electricity.
The baseball station plays soft, but there’s nothing, really nothing to turn off.
Just Bob Melvin and his bullpen so entwined, and these visions of Josh Reddick that conquer my mind.
We need the dodgers to lose and giants to a degree my friend gives me her tickets to the Giants dodgers game because she doesn’t want to see the dodgers clinch
Many of the games I remember from ages maybe 7-10 actually involve listening to the radio of the latter innings while driving home. I assume we all had fun, but who knows? Maybe there was hidden conflict, or just the worn thin nerves of overwhelmed parents, kids themselves, really. Anyway. I’m home watching Burns Canha and Lawrie in the 9th, it’s late September and I really should be back at school.
That could have gone to extra innings. Thank goodness for Billy Butler. Whew.
First place team, meet last place team.
RIP Yogi.
Brace yourselves for the columns about why Jeter is now the Greatest Living Yankee.
They will be awful, but will they be wrong? (of course I guess the bigger answer is who cares??)
yes, they will be wrong.
its still rickey
Rickey is not a Yankee. LALALALALALA
A-Rod! Rickey! Boggs!
I’m now fully expecting a Calcaterra troll column on why A-Rod is TGLY.
Jeter is probably first in “WAR as NYY” (for that matter, already was) but that just brings us back to 5Aces’ 2nd question.
Close enough.
So I went to the game last night. I’m no Eyeball Scout, but I was pretty underwhelmed by the whole Sean Nolin experience. Seems like the kind of pitcher the A’s regularly find on the waiver wire.
Sogard is in the starting lineup tonight (at shortstop for Semien). After starting
9792 of the first 131 games(74%)(70%) he’s only started 5 of the last 20, with just 20 PA in September. FINALLY.(Oops, can’t add. Still.)
turns out the difference against lewis is sogard and blair
HE HIT A HOME RUN. I wouldn’t have believed it if it hadn’t been like three rows away from me.
Just a few of the diehardiest diehards remaining in right field, but it’s nice to see Englishmajor representing.
Let’s Go Oakland!
Hello.
‘sup.
Hello hello.
I’d like Ken and Vince to ask Forst specifically about the organization’s evaluation of Semien and what they’re doing with him and the shortstop position going forward.
…and instead, they spend this inning asking about Doubront and Zito, neither of whom will ever again tie the laces on white shoes after a week from Sunday.
“What the fuck were you guys thinking when you gave Butler 3/$30?” would have been good as well.
and there is felix and the defense
The A’s have all kinds of outfielders available and I’m thinking somebody other than Reddick might be in right tomorrow afternoon.
Although it’s nice to see him do something at the plate to partially redeem the defensive slop.
What happened on the errors?
He couldn’t pick up a rolling ball either time. It would be convenient to blame it on the Raiders, but I didn’t see any bad hops. Looked more like bad concentration.
Thanks.
The A’s can’t pass Philly or Atlanta but we’re making a nice charge at the #3 slot.
In his 18th inning of pitching this season, R.J. Alvarez, the reincarnation of the Human Batting Tee, gives up his 7th home run.
didn’t realize that abad had a higher (2.17) hr/9 than scribner (2.10)
must have missed those scribner innings.
Any other FKers going out for the sentimental Zito farewell Saturday? Me and Segundo will be there. no tailgate plans though.
Can’t afford it :(
Thanks, and go As.
This is going to be the one time in history when Giants fans will say “Gee, I was thinking of going to the Bay Bridge series at the Coliseum this weekend, but the tickets are just too damn expensive – I’ll slum it at AT&T against the Dodgers next week instead.”
I will be in 149 tomorrow night and 216/10/25 both weekend days.
I was able to Stubhub my Fri and Sun tix for well above original face value, only time all year that was true.
Working.
Same. Oh wait, no one cares.
Ouch.
Bit harsh, don’t you think?
Naw.
Everyone loves you, get over it…
Am I a bad person. Or the worst person?
It would seem that the Hound has gone to the dogs.
Been a long time since I’ve seen an A’s team just roll over and die like this.
I’m hoping for a little more spirit in the next three games.
The 2008 A’s lost 44 of their last 68 games after getting within 4 of first place, wiki reminds me. The 07 team lost 10 of their last 12. And 1997 was of course an epicly bad year. I still don’t remember feeling as disgusted by any of those dog days efforts as I have by this squad. That could be the blessed facing of bad memories, though.
muncy looks ike a billy beane era A
not sure if good thing or bad thing
I read something on Twitter (I think) about him going to winter ball and playing some 2nd. I might pay a buck or 2 just to see him and Semien as our middle infield for a game.
FYI, A’s announced they’re doing directed parking for all three games this weekend. Arrive early to avoid inevitable long lines caused by incompetence.
They did not announce, but apparently put in place a new policy that everyone must vacate the lot within one hour of the end of the game, seriously pissing off the bleacher fans (who had already been given the bum’s rush out of their seats, as though there was another event happening before Sunday).
