do we count mark and marcus?
Kicker. Pot. Ballgame.
been thinking too much about this. Reddick’s first name is william.
burns, butler, reddick, semien canha
FULL HOUSE
Billy Josh sounds like he’s trying to get thrown in the discard pile though.
kazmir and zobrist have “z’s”
brett is sweedish for steven, yeah?
huh. i just got two pair of levi’s in the mail.
we are a phegley away from an inside strait draw
(bulter, davis, zobrist phegley, canha, vogt reddick fuld)
*stares blankly*
16, 17, 18, (19), 20, 21, 22, 23.
I forgot lawrie 15
16, 17, 18, (19), 20, 21, 22, 23.
I forgot lawrie 15and that dais isn’t playing
and phegley is playing
Raise big and draw one card. They’ll fold like umbrellas.
A Beane up the sleeve makes a full house.
What a random graphic to put under Lloyd McClendon’s name: “9-8 in last 17 games.”
better than 9-6 in the last 17
My main goal for this game is that Kazmir comes out of it healthy.
Chavy may not be the most energetic broadcaster, but at least he speaks in complete, coherent thoughts.
Oh boy, Fosse gets PxP innings on radio all weekend. I’ll go with the musical soundtrack along with the games, certainly Fare Thee Well tomorrow night.
There is no reasonable explanation for them continuing to let him do that. The man cannot get from the beginning of a sentence about Dibs to the end without getting lost in the middle. He’s supposed to explain plays as they happen to people who can’t see them?
They are sounding good tonight.
listening to the mariners. I give up
How great is that?
Josh Phegley!
Props to Gags for not getting Zobrist thrown out by 15 feet and killing that rally.
STOP HITTING IT AT SEMIEN.
Bastards.
He needs the practice though.
He has a chance at setting an unbreakable record.
Most errors in a season, Oakland A’s history (total at all positions played that season):
34: Bert Campaneris 1968
30: Tony Phillips 1983, Alfredo Griffin 1985
28: Tony Phillips 1984
27: Wayne Gross 1977
26: Bert Campaneris 1971, Phil Garner 1975, Mario Guerrero 1978, Miguel Tejada 1998
25: Alfredo Griffin 1986, Cliff Pennington 2010, Marcus Semien 2015
And Chavy thinks he’s going to have a much better second half. TRUST IN CHAVY.
…could he be worse?
Thanks, and go As.
Lookin good in A’s colors Harrison Barnes!
Nice observations on hitting strides from Chavvy.
I’m learning things. About baseball. This is weird.
im turning it on. no ray no way
He’s even dropping inside info he learned from talking to Cano during batting practice, about him being sick and having trouble keeping weight on this season.
Can we start some kind of formal campaign to bring Chavy on full time? Surely this is more fun than whatever fake job he’s doing for the Yankees.
im frozen.
Let it go.
Heh.
I thought this was a day game. Huh.
giants fan?
Sure, why not.
ric rizz:
“zobrist a free agent at the end of the year. we’ll see if he gets moved as the deadline nears and the as [flailing? don’t remember the word]”
Damn, that putaway fastball Kazmir has racked up his K’s with looks tremendous. Scouts take note.
I always hope =(
It’s amazing that Franklin Gutierrez is still a Mariner. I suppose by late next year other teams’ fans will be saying that about Coco and the A’s.
Kicker!
well then
6 shutout innings, 80 pitches, mission accomplished, now put him in the display case.
7 shutout innings, 90 pitches, mission accomplished, now put him in the display case.
8 shutout innings, 100 pitches, mission accomplished, now put him in the display case.
Pretty good chance that was the final pitch Kazmir throws for the A’s. Of the big-money Beane FA signings, that’s been among the best.
Toronto really really really needs pitching
or is it “Toronto need” since they are in canada?
And maybe better still if he yields a good haul.
There’s nearly 30 days until the deadline, why are we assuming this will be his last?
I’m not assuming that but it makes sense that Billy gets a higher return by trading 15 regular season starts than he does by trading 11.
Contributions from Billys Joshes and Marc(us)es all.
Remember when the Mariners were the “trendy pick” to go to the World Series. Splat.
which makes rick rizz’s comment about the a’s faltering so funny
Somebody on the postgame show forgot to turn his phone off.
I think this is a little unfair – Doo’s on the DL, why should he wear a cup?
Another pair!
asvd
Fosse just dropped such a heartfelt “how great does it feel” on Phegley.
(It feels really great, if you’re wondering.)
let me guess, know that he is so good and is one of the best
Uh oh:
http://www.csnbayarea.com/athletics/reddick-criticizes-front-office-over-his-playing-time
On the positive side, Fosse conducted an effective interview!
to be fair, he criticized the donaldson trade too
Doesn’t take *that* much digging, Josh.
Joba Chamberlain DFA. Who’s in?
ZiPS and Steamer both think he’s replacement level, which is a bit better than he has been pitching so far this year. On the other hand, his contract is 1 year / $1M for 2015 only, so that is close to free. Who would he replace? Mujica? FRod? Scribner? Or Joba to the minors (but added to the 40-man, I guess)?
abad? EOF? Venditte on the mend
I figured that he would be replacing a righty, not a lefty.
sure, but we have 2 ineffective lefties and the three mop up righties all seem interchangeable.
duh, clippard
