I like it when we throw guys out at the plate.

A Country Breakfast three-bagger. As I live and breathe.

No way. I don’t believe it.

        A Billy Burns three-bagger. Ho-hum.

I assume Burns could have scored twice in the time it took Butler to get to third on his triple.

I’m very mixed about this halfway point.

For me, not having Korach on the air as well as the lackluster performance makes it feel like the season never really began…like extended spring training.

Honestly, the lack of Korach has been more depressing than the poor record.

My usual life routine has me listening to radio baseball almost every day from April to October. Regardless of how good or bad the team is, the daily game is a metronome by which every other part of my life is timed.

Without Korach, though, the radio game is simply not enjoyable, and I find myself much less inclined to follow the daily news of a crappy team. Thus quite literally changing my life.

It’s amazing how much difference it makes. Roxy Bernstein is okay, but I don’t feel like he has much more insight into what’s going on than I can gather from Gameday and Twitter. Vince, of course, is of no use whatever in figuring out what’s happening, and his commentary is boring at best and annoying at worst.

Mine, especially the last few years has been a TV version of this. Of course I havent had the “shock” of losing Glen (how is it that he is like Cal Ripken and never misses a game?)

But through changing circumstances, I have not been able to get in front of the TV even half as much as I normally do. And that combined with a team that always seem to find a way to frustrate me, has pulled me away much more than I imagined it would.

Very well said Upgrade, and I share most of that sentiment; I would say “somewhat less inclined” though as I’m still mostly closely following the action whether or not I comment here.

according to Twitter, a woman in section 121 was hit by a flying bat and had to be taken into the A’s locker room to get stitches. She returned to her seat to applause, and gets to keep the bat.

From the suite that some of us were in on Monday night, the foul pole intersected with the ribbon scoreboard in such a way that the current reliever’s name appeared to be “Christian Fried Rice”.

the guys behind me monday were talking about seats they got for a playoff game. One guy said that he got some and looked at the 3d seat map before he purchased and thought the view was fine.

When he go to the game he realized that the foul pole is not represented on the 3d seat map.

      I have $5. No I don\'t.

@EM: Pagan fried rice is so much better. Sinfully delicious.

Can someone elaborate on Gameday’s description on the last A’s run as having happened when Canha “flied into a force out”?

I dislike this season because I don’t know whether I want the A’s to win or lose. I make it a rule to never actually root for a loss in a game I watch, but I am absolutely of the belief that a better draft pick matters.

      I understand your confusion.

    • Glorious Mundy Jul 1,2015 4:12 pm || Up

I absolutely want them to win because when they win, it makes me feel good, even in this kind of a season. I’m also crazy enough to think that they can still make a run and at least make August and September interesting, which is all I ever ask for, really.

I’m also not convinced that Beane is capable of making a team truly bad. Like, even if he trades Zobrist and Kazmir they’ll still somehow work themselves back to around .500 by the end.

Next up: three lefties and Felix.

OK, but the Mariners suck even worse against righties (84 OPS+) than they do against lefties, and they are facing three righties and Kazmir.
