The guy on Sunday, OTOH, was so good I made a point of looking him up and tweeting about it. Lovely tempo and phrasing, I could really hear echoes of the jaunty drinking song that Anacreon in Heaven used to be without in any way diminishing the anthem. And he actually sang perilous fight instead of paralez fight like most people do.
Improper pronunciation of “perilous” is my pet peeve. Especially when it sounds like “peril-less,” which makes me think it’s a conspiracy from the pro-war factions of the political spectrum to spread the idea that war is without danger or loss.
people next to me yesterday behind the plate were from denver. the mom (70s) wore and had coverd a non descript grey rockies shirt, the dad (80s) oaklandish shirt and the son (40s) wore a bronco’s hat. they seem scared at first. like milo and i would attack them
My parents recently moved from Santa Fe back to Colorado. They bought a condo right downtown in Denver. I want to visit last weekend and we went to a Rockies D-backs game. I’m so jealous–they can walk to Coors field in less time than I can walk to my car at an A’s game.
Downtown Denver has the best ballpark setting I’ve seen anywhere. So perfectly knitted into the surroundings. Light rail to ballpark bars and restaurants. Urban ballpark planning at its finest.

I don’t think this is a terrible team. It needs a not billy butler at dhish position, it needs solid relief pitching, it needs a half playe better in the outfield and I do think the defense isn’t as bad as it looks.
that said, Beane cannot waste this opportunity to tank and get the 3rd or better pick in the draft. not to mention the 45(?)th or so and 70th etc.
Zobrist, Kazmir and clippard better be gone by the time I wake up tomorrow.
