My artfully constructed audio montage of 11 years of marriage equality legal battles made Kate Kendall choke up in the studio, so I’ve got that going for me, which is nice.
For the price of a 2 BR condo in Daly City, you can get one of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s old pads in Saint Paul.
Meanwhile, NY-based umpires are apparently tired of staying up late to resolve our little tiffs.
Link ’em if you got ’em.
ZOMG, TYRANNY!
raise your hand if you’re rooting for a dominant team outplaying its opponent and making lots of chances, though all of them saved by varying degrees of miraculousness.
wtf Ospina. Serious.
Thanks, and go As.
he even saves owngoals! what an asshole.
i don’t think i can watch the PKs.
i love you charlie.
i’m just gonna go out on a limb and predict that an argentine coach is gonna win this copa america.
and i’d like to bring back an old joke. the punchline is “death by dunga.”
i’m already missing the brazil-argentina showdown that won’t be.
what i’m decidedly not missing is that font on brazil’s jerseys. lemme get a bit mommy dearest here: no! more! line-weight contrast! on sports jersey lettering! ever! (manchester united, i’m looking at you too.)
ha! just realized the mls website is mlssoccer. major league soccer soccer.
arte moreno say what now?
Yea, cause mls.com goes to Multiple Listing Service the real estate site
Thanks, and go As.
For my fellow NRAFs, this one is the mlb.tv free game of the day.
I need to bite the bullet and get a VPN.
Thanks, and go As.
Hola. Chrome extension. Know it. Love it.
Hola sells your bandwidth and makes you part of a botnet.
I also have a HTPC set up running Kodi, so I want a full time solution that doesn’t require browser use. Some of the VPNs allow you to configure DNS servers on the router so that it’s always running and you don’t need to worry about anything, which is kind of what I’m thinking of doing.
Thanks, and go As.
i heard you name on the radio, em
So I put this together – 73 newspaper front pages, at least one from each state.
Nicely done!
It’s pretty neat that you can actually cycle through the images here, too.
public defnders see new trials in 350 Delaware cases?
Drug cases, apparently.
Man. Right in the feels.
This is really cool!
I used Priceline for the first time today. Twice. I’m nervous about one of the hotels.

I’d also like to own more chickens. I like sitting in the yard and watching them run and stuff. I like collecting the eggs too.
Email: “Hey, your order has shipped!”
Me: Shit. What did I buy?
It ain’t the greatest way ever to start a Sunday morning, this much is true. But they say our friends are never really gone from us until we have forgotten them, so forgive the scattered nature of these sentences I am typing straight out of bed and please join me in tribute to one of the utmost exponents of the electric bass guitar, featured here today in an astonishing 1971 concert of the seminal band he helped to create and sustain for the last 47 years. I want to say NO it can’t be so, but I’m afraid that YES, it is: Chris Squire passed away from leukemia last night in Phoenix.
Saturday, August 1st. I am having a tailgate party. Everyone should come. I’m not going to call it “FK Day” because I’m inviting a more broad range of family and friends. But it will be fun so you should come. 6pm non-fireworks game means many hours of tailgating fun before hand. Yay!
sounds like a plan
And no BART from SF! Yay!
wut?

How do I know this and you don’t? I think Gigs tweeted it a few weeks ago.
like you’d go
Thanks, and go As.
I would. If it wasn’t in Oakland and I didn’t have to watch the A’s.
I mean, Barca does need some attacking help, right?
Thanks, and go As.

Never Trust A Prankster
putting it out there: today the commonwealth is serving USA-GER at 4:00, ARG-PAR at 4:30, and plenty of beer.
i’ll be the one wearing nothing red or yellow.
thought, as i get on my bike toward beer, start messi on the bench and only put him on if necessary. this cup’s too iffy with the possibility of bought refs, and he’d be the obvious target for a seemingly benign yellow (that would leave him out of the final).
Sure, as long as you don’t take the lead, have to replace an injured goalkeeper, use your other two subs on defenders, immediately give up the equalizer, and lose on penalties while Messi watches from the bench. Not that something like that could ever happen.
might be even crazier and more perplexing to sub a striker for a striker in the last 10 minutes and have that NOT be messi.
still, 4-2 penalties as it was. 4-3 assuming messi makes his, and it’s still the germans’ shot to blow.
Oooh, it’s Brazilian ref Sandro Ricci. Wouldn’t be a terrible idea to get Messi off once you get the inevitable third.
Uh oh.
OK, now you can take him off. He’s given us enough.
Stop. They’re already dead.
yeah, but martino wanted him to get one of his own, i guess.
big WHEW.
sciosciafreude
Awkward
And now Deadspin is reporting that Dipoto has been forced out.
seems like the right time to fire the GM. (or force out) as they are scouting players and evaluating which ones to trade for brandon moss (shudder)
RIP Civic Stadium in Eugene. Every time I walked into that place I thought, good grief, what a firetrap. It did need to go and I’m glad in a way it had a spectacular end. The $3 microbrews on Thirsty Thursday in its last year or two are remembered fondly.
Gray scratched from tonight’s start…
Who’s reporting that?
Tracy Ringolsby
Huh, thanks. Weird that he would get that news before the A’s beat writers, but he does cover the Rockies.
The Hound has been pitching quite well in Nashville, fwiw.
it’s elementary
Assuming this is true, I would have to assume injury. The type of package that the A’s would have to be getting for this guy to trade him right at this moment is practically unthinkable.
Or that.
scariest 3 minutes of the season, right there
slusser guesses muncy.
Why wouldn’t roberts be a better bench option than Muncy? I know that means 40 person roster spot, but Alex Hassan is still there, yeah?
Brian? Bip?
Hassan is long gone.
Smolinski would be my choice, though that would leave us a little thin at infield.
I didn’t even know we signed Smolinski. Slusser is hinting that he might be up very soon.
Not sure how they do that without DLing Gray if they need Bassitt around in case Gray can’t go Sunday. Unless they’re ready to say goodbye to Fuld.
“I’m sick of watching my paper-thin leads get blown” said Gray.
Further details on Sonny’s illness (bacterial gastroenteritis, not “flu”).
This Ostler column seems pretty unfair to Wolffisher.
what the hell was any of that?
Ostler sees himself as a voice for the common man, which is funny because he is as thoroughly cloistered in the ivory tower as any local journalist i can think of.
It’d be awesome if Lacob bought the A’s though. Howard Terminal would become a viable option again.
Welcome to the club, by the way.
Thanks. I’m watching the mailbox for my AARP application.
Lacob buying the A’s would indeed be wonderful.
why on howard terminal? (I don’t follow stadium issues carefully)
The belief by some is that Lacob would be willing to throw money at things Wolff sees as “insurmountable obstacles,” like the train tracks or the need to cap the site for environmental reasons. I don’t know that’s accurate, but his approach in SF gives reason for hope.
Fisher just dropped $100M out of pocket to pay for the Quakes new stadium.
Maybe I’m being silly, but… maybe it’s actually not a good spot to build?
Thanks, and go As.
It’s not an easy spot to build, that’s for sure. But it would be super cool if they pulled it off.
But how? Lacob had to get help from others for his group to be able to purchase the Warriors. Sure, their value is up much more now that they’ve been there a few years, but what are their actual finances?
Howard Terminal itself would still require a lot of extra money just to get it to the point of being buildable as a ballpark site. I don’t know that Lacob has that kind of money to just throw at it on top of buying another team.
HT in that regard makes sense when you and your partners own a lot of property around it that you fully expect to see the value inflate around that area. Which supposedly a lot of HT’s proponents do.
My sense of Lacob and his development partners is that they put a high premium on an iconic sense of place. Hence the SF waterfront hoops arena proposals. Howard Terminal, whatever drawbacks it has, is a more potentially iconic location than anything else ever proposed for an Oakland ballpark.
The iconic location part — absolutely. IF Howard Terminal could be developed to that extent, it would be an amazing location and design overall. I just don’t know how sensible it is to sink the extra costs into the whole cleanup of the site.
He doesn’t say that Fisher/Wolff have been fielding bad/losing teams, but it’s strongly implied from this sentence. He also fails to point out that the A’s have a .515 record since 2005 (when Fisher bought the team).
.507 for the Giants over that same period.
Since the giants ownership took over they are dominating the A’s in winning percentage though.
.524 to .522
(i think 1994 was the takeover)
Wooo! Another big win for California. Hope it holds up.
bed’s back!!!
oh. trade and relocation rumor mongering. i see.
Another day, another Bass Deity to celebrate… and, most thankfully, this one is still alive! It’s time for some summer school days, so blog with us now for a Master Class in Low End Theory, featuring one of the primary exponents of the big bottom ever to walk the Earth. That’s right, it’s an INSANE 45 minutes from German TV in 1974 — sourced from the never-aired master tapes — of fabulously funked up fusioneers Return to Forever, anchored by who else but the incomparable Stanley Clarke, who was born this day in 1951 :D
Happy birthday, FSU!
Thanks! I didn’t get what I wanted though.
happy birthday.
Didn’t the usher tell you to do an “anti rally cap” like the kid that sat in seat 13 last night?
You could have gotten a win that way
Damnit! Had I only known!
I thought everyone knew Mike called dibs on my chestal region years ago?
Hi.
Thanks, and go As.
Call me.
maybe.
Thanks, and go As.
Happy Birthday
SergioUpgrade! Thanks! I know it was hard for you to post that.
I hate the Twitter.
No clue on what that means other than a reply that it is NOT about the fake Sonny trade. It could be he is about to be traded, or a WWE wrestler switched to heel. Who knows?
The 34 people who retweeted it?
He just saw that Fuld is starting over him tonight?
That seemed to be some of the FB consensus, with the next comments being that Beane will now trade him for questioning things. I’m not buying the first part. We know the whole JD story, but for Schlong to go out on social media and complain about an off day seems a different level.
And for the second part, Reddick will be traded some day, and I am sure people will now say they called it. It’s the A’s. trades happen.
Well, this interpretation turned out to be correct.
Alex Morgan’s game is so hot.
I just can’t get behind US teams. Its reflexive.
go japan
i’m just gonna keep it going and say i could definitely get behind alex morgan.
gross. she’s a teenager
She’s older than me. I’m 25.
like I said. Teenager.
that’s ageist!
SO YOU’RE SAYING I GET PRESS??????
I knew you liked me.
Thanks, and go As.
i do like you, but she’s got a mind of her own and we’ll have to see what she decides when she finally calls me back.
(don’t hold your breath.)
((weren’t there like 20 lovely and affable quakes fans playing footsies with you in the parking lot this weekend??))
(((jeeezzzsh.)))
yes. it was fantastic.
Thanks, and go As.
I..
Huh?
Thanks, and go As.
son of an immigrant. the US gov’t has been helping subjugate my close relatives all my life. hard to get all U.S.A! U.S.A! with that kind of background.
have your aunt, in her 60s, pre 9/11 get separated at customs and interrogated for about 3 hours by the feds and you kinda lose the desire to root for a team beacuse they say USA on the chest.
honestly, I think the last time I remember rooting for the USA was bruce jenner. I was unmoved by the miracle on ice, I actively rooted against mary lou retton and subsequent gymnastics teams. (i may have wanted michelle kwan to win or someone, but whoever that was they trained about a mile from my parents house).
U.S.A.! U.S.A.!
(I was rooting for Sweden in 1980).
precursor: one too many Capt MOrgans tonight, so.. yeah
I guess I get it, but at the same time the US is allowing you/gave the opportunity to have a damn good life and take the boys to games and stuff, no? Rooting “against” that I guess is what I don’t quite understand. Not that I expect you all to be guns and ammo and bald eagles and MURICA, but it just doesn’t register in my train of thought I guess.
Being a plain ass white guy, I actually find it really interesting hearing the stories of others.
Thanks, and go As.
yeah, sure. I have nothing against the country, really. I am very luck to be born here. also to be basically a plain ass white guy myself so I totes fit in.
I never got the “root for america” gene I guess. I am indifferent to most of the national teams, but I think its funny when the NBA dream teams lose.
I basically hate basketball so I get that part.
Thanks, and go As.
I never got it either. Too big and nonspecific a thing to root for. Minnesotan yes, American meh.
it’s a little bit like racketeering. some smiling guy comes to your neighborhood. tells you you have a protection problem. (maybe starts the protection problem.) offers to solve it. for a price. you pay it. for a long time. he’s nice about it. likes you even. invites you to dinner. tells you, hey, you know what would really be safe for you and your family, come to my neighborhood, work for me, help me run this racket. you do it. it’s safer. you get a raise. even if you miss your neighborhood. and your friends. all those people who’re still not protectioned. you might even feel a little guilty about it. even though you’re never quite as rich or in power as the guy. and all this time, as surface-nice as your relationship is with him, all smiles and paychecks and dinners, you have one tiny place that he can’t quite reach and you keep it to yourself. your sports rooting interest. nobody can change that.
Norman Tebbit once suggested that British citizenship should be predicated on rooting for the English (sic) cricket team.
Is that what’s causing all the FKing cricket talk?!?
They’re interviewing Alex Morgan. She’s a little hoarse.
Hahahahahaha
Pretty interesting Eno Sarris piece on Reddick’s improved approach.
I’m definitely impressed by what he is doing this year. I always had him pegged for someone who would continue to be decent but would never figure out plate discipline.
“‘There’s something funny going on,’ he said, ‘I can just feel it in the air.'” I bet we deal one of our big assets in the next 48 hours.
< trades Sonny Gray for two B- specs >
I had a dream last night where I was reading the Saturday comics page in the newspaper, and noticed an article off to the side about Buddy Groom and some other people being on trial for killing a guy.
There are weird dreams, and then there are weird dreams. Buddy Groom?
A Google image search makes it very easy to believe that Buddy Groom could kill a guy.
What’s more astonishing? The fact that I’ve posted all killer, no filler sh*t two days in a row for the first time in months? Or the idea that Deborah Harry is SEVENTY YEARS OLD today? You did not read that wrong… Christ, she looks and sounds fully half that! So put down that Dagwood Sandwich and blog with us now back to January 1980 and a remaster — straight from the pristine radio station LPs — of a complete BLONDIE concert featuring the birthday girl and her cohorts at the top of their game. And augmented (this is just getting MORE astonishing, ain’t it?) for part of the set by Crimson King and pal Robert Fripp, who shows up to help ’em blow the doors clean off the Hammersmith Odeon for a few tunes! :P
She’s one of my faves. I cannot believe she is just a few years younger than my mom. That is mind blowing.
I think that every time I hear her age
It looks a lot like Debbie, but I think that’s a photo of Elisha Cuthbert.
That’s my first thought too.

Oh, England. That is awful.
oh man.
I mean, if she doesn’t get to the ball, its probably a score anyway
Maybe, maybe not. It wasn’t a sure thing by any means, but you can’t exactly blame her for intervening.
a win is a win.
this is pretty cool
A no-hitter where you walk a guy and hit another guy in the ninth is kind of meh.
And he didn’t get it anyway.
I’m thinking about asking for a script for O2 to rake with me to Denver next week. Guys, I’m really excited.
You can take the boy out of Oakland, but you can’t take the Oakland out of the boy.
A’s gear / national-media alert:
some dude, perhaps dudette, in the pic on a NYT food column article about fish is wearing an A’s beanie. i’m not wasting one of my free reads to click through on the 2nd of the month though.
Good call. It’s five paragraphs, and it doesn’t explain why this chef is wearing such a badass beanie of the shores of Long Island. (I’m a subscriber, so I clicked for everyone.)
the state of food journalism is really going downhill.
or maybe they’re trying to sow confusion to escape from that pile of guacamole they stepped on.
come on people. it’s new york. they make guac with… [please hold your knowing gasps till i’m done] …florida avocados.
gross.
I hold no position on peas in guacamole. I wouldn’t do it, but whatever. what I do take issue with is a fucking recipe for guacamole. there is no need for that.
Especially a bad recipe.
didn’t they use international bonus money for lester, too?
This doens’t seem wise. although maybe ynoa scared them
I wonder, who starts tonight if Kazmir gets pulled.
Why is he getting pulled?
Due to an imminent trade, is my speculation
Kiley McDaniel in January:
Martin is the second player from Dos Palos High School to reach the major leagues. The first one was a pretty good contributor to La Russa’s World Series teams.
Wow, the bbref players by high school feature is awesome!
I’m already diving down the rabbit hole on this. So far I’ve found two high schools that produced two hall of famers. I want to know whether any has produced three.
I was right on the first one I thought of in Oakland.
McClymonds also proudly claims Basketball HOF Bill Russell among its alumni. Galileo, probably a little less proudly, has National Football HOF O.J. Simpson.
I didn’t see Serra. is it called something else?
If you divided Barry Bonds in half you’d still have zero Hall of Famers, I’m afraid. Oakland Tech, on the other hand…
I did find out that Tom Brady has a BB Ref page.
Took me a minute or two to work past my bias before I could contribute the central valley answer to the 2 HOF HS.
Clicked from Fresno High through to one of their HOF players, Frank Chance (of Tinker to Evers to Chance fame, of course) and saw that he first signed in 1898 with a team called the Chicago Orphans. Can you imagine how good the opponent’s cheers must have been? “Come on boys. Let’s really whip those orphans!”
Old team names are the best. I always go back to what our Grizzlies throw back to every few years, the Fresno Raisin Eaters.
Soon, but not yet.
This one has two HOFers plus a guy who surely seemed on his way that one night at the Coliseum.
his number is retired
Ed…things are happening!
they couldn’t have done it three days earlier!?

GO CAROLINA!
Early Jamaican recorded music was often just an attempt to duplicate American R&B songs. And the usual result was a third-rate copy on fourth-rate equipment of second-rate tunes sung in a quasi-American ‘twang’. It’s hardly an accident that not many pre-independence Jamaican tunes are played on the radio.
But ‘Oh Carolina’, whether by design or accident, contained distinctive elements not heard in any previous R&B copy. Count Ossie’s drum group had the most to do with it, but the song’s fresh sound wasn’t just due to the drumming. What was original was the way the drums played off the other instruments and the singers’ voices, trailing just a bit and almost play call and answer. Combining the energy of R&B with the hypnotic repetition of Rastafarian drumming, the throbbing beat was eminently danceable but not frenetic. If one song can be singled out as signifying the birth of reggae, ‘Oh Carolina’ is it.
I like her so far. Just doing color now. has good timing.
Better or worse than Suzyn Waldman?
a joke?
I mean waldman is established and expresses her wrong opinions with conviction.
the rockies person is not doing over the top stuff.
She just said they need to invent a new sabrmetric for what Nolan Arenado is doing
I’ll bet she’s strong as hell.
This is the kind of information we don’t really need to know.
Thanks, and go As.

On a serious note, that’s why it’s not a good idea for soakers at natural hot springs to put their heads under water.
I don’t know how to make this clever, so I’ll leave it at: Christ, what an asshole
I’m so glad Scioscia won the Anaheim power struggle, because he hurts the Angels competitively, and because he’s so much fun to hate.
.196/.282/.299 for the Buffalo Bisons this year. He turns 30 next month.
And had a 5 WAR season
and then Billy wanted Adam LaRoche, Brandon Allen, and Conor Jackson to play
Thanks, and go As.
I don’t understand this lament. Barton got 280 PAs for the A’s in 2011, and put up a 71 wRC+. In 2012, he was the starting first baseman for two months and put up an 86 wRC+. He was then replaced by Moss and Carter and the team took off.
I don’t know whether 2010 and September 2007 were flukes, or whether his shoulder injury just destroyed his ability to hit. But I do know that he got plenty of chances.
Well, and Andy LaRoche played a total of 8 innings at 1b in his A’s career.
I remember getting Conor Jackson and thinking, “Fantastic, we just picked up a RH Barton.” And at the time thinking that was a great thing and not a sarcastic condemnation.
Then he got some rare disease and became terrible.
Thanks, and go As.
still a great eye
Unless he is evaluating pool levels.
Altuve just tried to turn a double play with Ortiz sliding into second and his throw bounced off Ortiz’s helmet and went all the way into the stands on the first base side.

Happy Fourth y’all! Let’s get the afternoon’s festivities started right with a face-melting performance of one of the most beloved bands ever, taped 44 years ago tonight at the closing of the Fillmore West at the corner of Van Ness & Market in SF. Blog on the bayou with us now for the original KSAN-FM pre-broadcast master reels — remastered by yours truly — of El Cerrito’s Bureau of Swamp Rock CREEDENCE CLEARWATER REVIVAL, captured in a set that can only be described as “Holy crap! How did people walk out of there with their hearing intact?”
holy KF, teh wymyn!
note to self: if you can’t win with the one you love, win with the one you’re with…
hey, so, this is probably awkward and i am not that good at awkward…
a friend of mrs AV from her years in chico wrote a book about the A’s. it’s for sale at amazon (free kindle DL if you have prime). i believe it’s totally fiction, just based on real teams and situations. he’s a journalist and that’s the only voucher for the quality of the writing i can offer. (our copy hasn’t arrived yet so i don’t have a book report.)
the awkward thing is, the author is probably on his last days, finalizing a battle with cancer much, much too young. friends of his are passing the word around about the book, so that anybody interested has a chance to pick it up now, and maybe he goes knowing his words will carry on in a way he can’t himself. it’s not a fundraiser and it’s obviously not going to reverse or prolong anything; it’s just a gesture to say goodbye to someone we’ve never met.
A shoo-in for this year’s Darwin Awards.
The competition.
I guess I can forgive him for not staying home for college.
You can’t begrudge the man his choice of the greatest university on earth.
Still, though, what are any of his achievements next to the Ames, Iowa Sprouts Division dance competition results.
I skipped straight to the “Local girl holds yard sale” click-bait.
At least he didn’t go to Kansas. Or Iowa.
I’m glad he keeps a connection to his home town, unlike some athletes (Dustin Pederast comes to mind).
Because is Barnes going to the Iowa State Fair? Maybe, but he’ll have to pay to get in like anyone else.
Our state fair is a GREAT state fair…

honduras… what, did you design your jerseys using only the leftover characters that fell on the ground when they made the western dental and orthodontics signs?
welp. at least there’s this bit of consolation.
Wales ahead of Chile and Spain? Austria ahead of Italy? Mexico at #40?
Seems legit.
it’s not horribly unsensical. wales and austria have ben kinda kicking butt in 2016 Qs. mexico hasn’t won a game since 8 games ago. spain is respectable, but not top notch. and italy has the fiat cruising in 3rd gear because it’s not like an actual tournament is going on, and of the 6 games it’s been in since november, has only won one, leaning on the ties.
i never heard of this chile country you’re talking about so i can’t opine there.
So I stupidly went to this clickbait link on CNN, which is a Forbes item listing the most conservative and liberal cities in the US. The listings were pretty obvious, but I wanted to point out #4 on the liberal side, that being Oakland.
Unsurprisingly, the picture is not Oakland. In fact, it looks suspiciously like Minneapolis/St. Paul.
With the Metrodome still there.
You are correct, that is an old (e.g. the Metrodome is still there and several newer riverfront developments are not) photo of the eastern end of downtown Minneapolis from a strange angle, looking south along the Mississippi.
9 of the top 10 liberal cities host MLB franchises; only 2 of the top 10 conservative cities do, but in one of them the stadium is the most iconic thing about the city (at least in the opinion of the intern putting together the slideshow).
RIP Kenny Stabler. He was my childhood Raider hero.

soccer not big in cuba?
Historically, no. But I was reading somewhere this morning that it is starting to rival or eclipse baseball among the young. Don’t know whether that is true or not.
The other problem is that every time they come to this tournament a couple of guys defect. They already lost one a couple of days ago. I don’t think that’s why it looks like they are playing 9 on 11 though.
This is going to get very ugly.
I believe Cuba only ended up with 14 or 15 players and no head coach.
Thanks, and go As.
yeah, some of them had trouble with the connecting flight or passports or something.
Fourth defector for Cuba in this tournament. This time their starting striker.
that first goal looked like the equivalent of 25 offensive rebounds in a row.

Oh my God, the pomp and circumstance surrounding the removal of the confederate flag, WTF? Just roll it in a ball and stuff it in the trash.
No, let someone wipe themselves with it first.
The last state trooper (or whoever those guys were, I didn’t have the sound on) they handed the neatly folded flag to was African American. I was so longing for him to unfurl it and rub it on his butt.
Regardless of how it was taken down, at the end of the day we have this:
OK now I’m even more pissed off:
what?
that is offensive on many levels, but the first that comes to my mind, is, what is special about that particular flag? it was made in what? 2010?
Umm… that it was taken down vountarily after an AA church shooting?
FK the South.
Welcome to Friday and a birthday tribute to one of Joshy’s all-time heroes of Music. He only lived to be 33, and in that time knew mostly despair and drug-related troubles, but the lasting legacy he left — inadvertently helping to invent a style that came to take over the entirety of the world — will never ever die, even though most people do not even know his name. Let’s start the weekend off with a blast of sacred trumpeteering, via a long-out-of-print showcase from way back in 1961 of chops-defying, chorus-upon-chorus fury, featuring the severely underrated talents of the man who is, for me, the Jimi Hendrix of Jazz: born this day in 1938, the extraordinary and exemplary Lee Morgan.
what channel is the gold cup on?
video analisys. why messi doesn’t perform with argentina. translation: because with argentina he’s not his teammates’ first pass option. also, because when he passes it to his teammates, they don’t pass it back.
@AV: USA and Mexico games and maybe some others are on FOX Sports 1, others are on Fox Sports 2 (which no one gets). I’m assuming at least the final will be on Fox proper.
Spanish broadcasts are on Univision Deportes or whatever it’s called or Univison (Mexico plus knockouts I would guess).
thanks. i couldn’t find it on TV yesterday at the Y. couldn’t tell if maybe i had the time wrong for the US game. still not sure i didn’t. but from what you’re saying also not certain i would have found it on the channels offered at the treadmills.
