So there’s been talk of making Saturday August 9 FK Day IV. In this one, FK watches its best friend get beaten to death by a blond Soviet Superman, then goes through hellish training and knocks the sneering commie bastard out cold, then makes a big speech about how we learned to respect each other as fans so don’t start nuclear war okay.
I’d set up the usual tailgate infrastructure on game day but am too busy to organize a group seat buy. I would jump in on group tix if someone else got them. Or we could all fend for ourselves for seats.
Anyway, if it was then would you come? And bring food and stuff? Reply here and by next week we’ll see whether there are enough of us to kill that cold-hearted brute Ivan Drago.

I’m watching Fargo now, but haven’t gone back to check the FK-recap.
The hazard of writing recaps is that you write them soon after watching the show in real time, which increases the chances that you won’t agree with your own take later. But that’s also part of the fun. It’s your first reaction, before you start reading everyone else’s. For shows I like, my first reaction tends to be more critical.
I’m the reverse, I find myself far more critical later on, even after I read other thoughts. That time to digest can make a something I thought on first viewing seem really good suddenly be meh once I really break it all down in my head or on a second viewing.

The idea of a garage where the car never goes reminds me of the only Arnold Schwarzenegger film I’ve ever seen in a theater, the wretched Jingle All the Way, which is set in Minnesota at Christmas time. In the first five or ten minutes of the movie, it became clear that no one from Minnesota had worked on the script, when Arnold’s character pulls his car into the driveway of his suburban home…and leaves it there. Perfectly normal for Californians, but hilarious to the Minnesota audience, who were yelling “Put your car in the garage, you idiot, if you want it to start tomorrow!” at the screen.

honestly, my screams were a bigger deal than the burn, at the time. i iced it to kill the initial pain and went on. the thing’s not bigger than a nickel.
It seemed like you were shocked more than hurt.
Icing is extremely bad for burns. Always use room temperature water. It’s still feel better and it won’t do you more harm.
