Live Or Let Die was one of the weaker Bond flicks. The theme song was just about the best part of that movie.
You have to look at the Roger Moore Bond films the way you have to look at the Adam West Batman show, or the Kilmer/Clooney Batman films. They’re basically absurdist comedies. One of the cool things about those characters is that they can work in so many different configurations, and one of them is comedy.

Well, he’s not on the masthead and wasn’t when I looked at it a few months ago, so unless he went through a name change it was probably him.
he seemed like a nice guy. I was surprised when he became a mod (although i was out that week. I was doubly surprised at him banning you so aggressively. (although the details are lost to me)
It essentially came down to me expressing some discontent with the direction things were going in. He jumped into it in the Lounge, which was supposed to remain sort of an ‘anything goes’ area from what I’d seen since they even went to the length of trying to ‘hide’ it from the main page so it’d be more of a secret place, and suddenly he rolls out a “YOU CAN’T TALK ABOUT THAT HERE!!” on me.
I told him to shove it and that was pretty much that.
It seems like it was a point where literally anyone speaking against the politburo was erased. Which, seeing as how it was the only thing anyone was talking about seems like a bad idea.
I think they’re hoping that by getting rid of me and pam and probably hero66 at some point in the near future, they can head another mass exodus off at the pass. Most people there are still afraid (which is an absurd emotion to feel about a damn blog site) to speak directly against Nico and BBG.

A lot of the meta came from them basically just stripping Leopold Bloom of mod status without any warning.
That was the first lounge I ever went to! (I had never understood the lunge over there so usually didnt show up). People had been said EC was leaving and he had said we should give them the link if they want to be on a site he goes to. I sent it and got the “yeah WE KNOW Cabron” treatment.

Strange. Though, more places are trying to force people to use real names, especially ones that require a linked Facebook account. They think it’s going to limit inflammatory comments or trolling when a real name is attached to it, but some people are who they are whether they use a real name or a handle.
I wonder how Toonces and Rev Halofan have avoided this edict. Even Blez uses his entire name.

Writing the game intros and recaps was the easiest thing I did when I was a FP writer for a year. It was coming up with other stuff that took more work. Anyone can throw together two or three paragraphs to sum up a game, though it takes at least a little writing ability to do it in a coherent way.
And BBG doesn’t even do ANYTHING ELSE. All she does is recaps, because she has nothing intelligent or coherent to say. BBG is a small mind containing nothing but hatred for Daric Barton and the word “would.”

Replay will be a work in progress all season but I’m generally satisfied with the evolution process, and I was not much of a replay supporter.

Yup. I’m not so sure the exception in the rule is necessary. Just the catcher as to stay on the first base side of the basepath and if it’s a bad throw the runner is safe, but allow the catcher to play the ball, just not for the out at the plate.
I think that’s what it amounted to. Norris had to be where he was on the throw, but he still gave the runner the lane while making the tag and the runner slid straight in regardless.
He’s allowed to block the plate once he has the ball anyway.

Charlie let Monte hire his own partner in 1974. Monte went through the audition tapes and chose Miller. Charlie re-took control of the radio broadcasts for 1975, canned Miller and brought in some forgettable guy he liked from hearing him back in Chicago.
Somewhere in there, Jim “Possum” Woods was hired and then quickly fired for not being enough of a homer.
And a little before that, Harry Caray spent one season in the Coliseum radio booth. It was the first year I listened to a lot of the games so I remember it well. It was in his pre-buffoon days. He didn’t get along with either Monte or Charlie and went on to buffoonery in Chicago.

Somewhat randomly, is there anyone here good enough with Stylish/userstyles to create a custom set of code that would allow people to view FK as a “dark” version?
My eyes are fairly light-sensitive and I’ve found stuff to make Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Wiki and other sites display with light text on a dark background. On another site, someone put together a few lines of code to allow customization of the background, text and link colors, but it won’t work the same here due to the columns and various things like that.
I’m hoping someone might know enough to throw something together and maybe even show me a thing or two with it. I may make a more specific post about it soon, too.

Question: my boss throws a party at her house for a few of her employees. This has been planned for weeks. Two days prior to the party, she invites everyone else knowing plans are made and only a few others from the original group would show up. The party consists of hours of drinking and ATV riding.

As someone who has had numerous work parties that is just a series of party fouls. You never invite part of the team. You don’t drink and drive anything. And I would think that would be double in the medical profession. You can hope that people dont show up, you can try and schedule it when you know someone will be out of town, but when you wait and invite “the others” at the last minute you are setting yourself up for a divided work place.
Miss Manners would not approve. Your boss is at the very least quite socially awkward…I wonder if she actually thought she was doing the second batch of invitees a favor.
