Gentry CF, Lowrie SS, Donaldson 3B, Cespedes LF, Norris C, Callaspo DH, Punto 2B, Reddick RF, Barton 1B w. Chavez P
A’s down 1-0 in bottom of 1st, RBI single from Pujols, not a horrible pitch by Chavez who also threw some nasty looking pitches to Trout.
I can’t tell you what the A’s did in the top of the first because…and this is absolutely true…the game is on ESPN tonight, I turned it on to find that the Braves vs Phillies game was still going on, and I fell asleep.
"Kraut will get you through times of no money better than money will get you through times of no kraut."
thank you!
So, while you’re here, what’s the expected effect of tonight’s lunar eclipse on us Cancerians? Should I buy a lottery ticket or hide in the basement?
both? we’re more screwed by the grand cross that’s happening next week anyway.
(Googles). Well that’s just fucking great.
yup. ready for this to be done with.
DB making his presence known early.
Damn, tough error, Barton has buzzard’s luck.
Not only does ESPN have the wrong game, but the scroll at the bottom of the screen just said Donald Trump wants to buy the Bills.
I think it would be mete and right for Jesse to beat this lineup tonight,
My reliance on MLB.TV is killing me.
Given that I do not have cable, the Seattle series in Oakland was blacked out for me. Then, due to work, missed every one of the Twins games. Again, was unable to view any of the games this past weekend and was sadly too busy to attend in person. Thought tonight would finally end my A’s TV fast, but I see those clowns at ESPN picked up this one.
The reward of course, is 3 hours of Radio Fosse.
Damn, that’s some crap luck all right. I thought last year they stopped letting Ray into the radio booth on those rare no TV games; am I misremembering?
New twist on the stupid rule: in the Seattle-Texas game, there was a bases loaded grounder to third, throw home. Catcher caught it, then bobbled on the transfer going for the double play to 1B, wound up catching the ball again after bobbling. Called out, challenged and changed to safe. So: would that also apply on fly balls in sac fly situations? What would happen if an OF caught the ball, bobbled on the transfer, caught it again, then threw behind to third since the runner would have left after the first catch?
On a pop up, once it touches the glove the runners can go.
Or at least that’s how it has always been before. Changing that interpretation would be logically consistent with the new interpretation of catches though.
I don’t really see that part changing even with the interpretation. It’s not much different than the ball hitting the glove and immediately popping up in the air only to be caught again.
If I’m not mistaken, the sac fly rule is that the runner may advance without risk of being doubled off after the fielder makes contact with the ball.
BOOBIES
Also, game is on ESPNews.
I don’t appear to have that channel (Comcast, Berkeley).
Not part of the basic comcast package.
It’s in the early 400s in SD, 726 in HD.
‘Not Authorized’
You’re SOL
So, Daric Barton and your grandma walk into a bar… actually your grandma cleared the bar but poor Daric, being not awfully bright, walked right into it and got smacked in the forehead by the bar.
that’s ok. he walked and a walk’s as good as a hit.
And the bar was pretty low anyway.
He also ran home for a home run.
You’re just not sophisticated enough to appreciate his value.
Nor am I.
So far tonight, it’s non-existent. But it’s early.
You don’t believe in negative numbers?
I do. But so far it’s had zero actual impact.
I’ve reached the point I hoped not to, actively rooting for Barton to fail. This relationship needs to end and we need to move on.
Ouch, that is a new low. And I feel bad for the Bartonian fans too. I sure wish he’d hook up with some hot new
girlteam who would make him feel better.I (usually) cut him some slack, but his defensive lapses are becoming very troubling, especially since he doesn’t hit for a lot of power.
As a centrist in this conversation, I’ve always felt his defense was grossly overrated anyway.
this is how i feel about Reddick
Gah, Braves will probably tie it here and we’ll only see the 9th.
Or not!
So the hightest seniority person called in today. The put me in charge of the entire unit of patients. You usually have to go through months of training for this job. Nope. Here, make sure no one dies… also you have your own patient load. Surprise! Two people really tried to die on me.
When the doctors dropped Daric on his head at the time of his birth, did they get charged with an error for a botched transfer?
Damn, about time.
Bottom half of this lineup is an absolute joke against lefties. Really hope the A’s are exploring other options.
SuSlu:
Scoring change on transfer-exchange play in Saturday’s game in which Brandon Moss was awarded RBI single but called for passing baserunner. Instead of an RBI single, Moss now credited with a sacrifice fly and an RBI, ending his hitting streak, which had reached eight games Sunday.
Damnit. Oakland sure has got the better of Pujols during his time in the division; I hope he’s not suddenly going to start getting even.
Suddenly that Braves/Phillies game doesn’t seem so bad.
boom
Jesse looks pretty awesome again, that HR notwithstanding.
Our offense looks pretty awful again, that HR notwithstanding.
I did NOT see that one leaving the park off the bat.
Yoenis!
Who is doing all that cheering?
Nice burst of cheering just now when the Angels failed to complete the pickoff of Gentry. I know when I’ve been a visiting A’s fan in Anaheim I’ve worked especially hard to be be loud, because I so despise those Anaheim people.
Well, they ARE despicable.
Cespedes driving the ball to right center is always a thing of beauty.
nice one cespy. keep it up.
SEXY FEET
out
Looked out from one angle, safe from the other. No way they were going to change it.
Gritty GIDP.
Gritty reply fail.
Melvin would have lost that challenge if he went for it.
Punted
The only benefit of that Callaspo hit was so we could get through Punto/Reddick/Barton in one inning but thanks to Punto, even that was ruined.
I may be developing a man-crush on Jesse Chavez.
Jesse! Jesse! Jesse!
The man has zero butt, however.
I don’t exactly find myself swooning before his radiant visage either.
I am captain of that bandwagon
Theo was on the bandwagon first. I have no idea why though
proximity to jesse (army) street?
at the beginning of last year, he kept on calling him their best pitcher.
He was excited when he came in a blow out game sometime. I am super bummed Jesse didn’t hear Theo calling him the one time we were down by the bullpen for autographs last year.
so… who does he like in the vegas line for the world series this year?
Barton needs to get sent down if for no reason but to let us focus our Reddick loathing more intensely.
Might as well call up Freiman.
Landed Gentry!
hee!
Har har.
Abnormal single, abnormal stolen base for Gentry.
Any step off with the lead foot without a throw should be a balk.
Hee hee!
ugh
Welp… that’s the ball game… for the first five and a half.
Would like a Norris homer here.
6 Runz Mojo.
wild pitch wild pitch wild pitch wild pitch wild pitch
DUE
One time, Reddick. One time.
Sigh.
Punto and Reddick are Punto and Reddick.
fk you reddick. seriously fk you.
A’s face another lefty on Wednesday. Freiman better be on the team by then.
how is he not ph for?
OMFG, can we sub the bottom third please, gut punch, ugh…
Hahahahaha, slegnA announcers think Santiago’s pitching was why the slegnA was able to get out of the 7th.
Sutcliffe thinks the same thing.
ESPN’s recap involved all our suck and one Donaldson AB.
Okay, you need to win this for Chavez. Moss please.
Finally.
Uh, whither Moss?
Ok, Moss for Gentry and not Barton. That’s interesting.
Hitting for Kitten Face.
four highlights of reddick two of barton and one of punto… thats not mlb quality hitting espn has little to do with sanchez
motherfker
Would IBB Pujols here…
oh well
I was thinking they should have IBB’d Trout.
The Fossebabble in response to Ken’s question “Would you walk Pujols here?” was, well, how great was it?
Well, Frieri is HR-prone and our power is coming up.
Mojo.
FK YEAH
Called it you did!
Others are worse, but Sutcliffe might be the dumbest announces out there.
Beyond so.
2 runs pls.
HEE!!!!
As did you!
http://deadspin.com/phillies-fans-reactions-to-dan-ugglas-grand-slam-are-am-1563288296
Squared up on that one, Let’s Go Yo!
This inning has a chance to come down to bases loaded, 2 outs with Reddick up, and Jaso and Moss already used.
Crisp.
In that situation, Chili Davis has to grab a bat and hope no one notices.
And club Reddick in the on deck circle.
That’s one!
That’s three! Nice win, boys!
This mislocated comment bug is pissing me off.
I’ve never encountered it.
Would’ve been quite something if Cespedes hit that out after not getting the (late) time called.
FUCK YEAH JASO
JASO
BOOOM!
JOHN JASO JINGLEHEIMER SCHMIDT
YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS <3
Fk yeah!!
Jaso Horny!
Snerk.
There we go!
jingleheimer power.
I miss that guy.
Me too.
I’m happy that he’s playing in Japan because it was harder to like him when he was on the Rangers last year.
kinda sad looking clubhouse. All clean and empty
and no sewage.
awesome
Keeping making him throw. More pitches, more likely he won’t be available tomorrow.
They really need to show more footage of Santiago looking smarmy w/ C.J. again, please?
Moar runz!
We need a slo-mo job of that.
I really like Callaspo. I can tell when I’m more amused than annoyed at how incredibly slow he is.
This would be a nice time for Reddick to do something, well, good for a change.
sigh
Gawd, Reddick looks sooo lost out there, I’m past frustrated and now into ‘really fucking worried’ territory.
Barton’s offensive numbers are better. That tells you everything you need to know.
The fact that he’s such a head-case makes me think a couple weeks AAA wouldn’t be such a bad idea, time for a complete ‘do-over’.
couple weeks of*
I think you mean a couple of months… or a couple of years. I think he’s another Travis Buck.
Reddick needs a couple weeks of quality time with a psychiatrist more than he needs at-bats in the minor leagues.
Maybe, though that would also utterly kill any trade value if his tailspin worsened.
Trade value?
I think his glove and name from his one good season still carry some weight, probably for some other team’s similar disappointment/bad contract in a “change of scenery” deal.
At this point, he has no trade value.
So, so, so glad it didn’t come down to Reddick and Barton.
There’s certainly a nonzero chance of that feeble pop-up being the outcome of Barton’s final plate appearance in the Athletics organization.
Doubt it. But only because if they DFA him, no one else would pick him up.
Sad but true…
And we’re sure to lose Fuld, sigh…
I wouldn’t be surprised if Fuld stays.
Nothing wrong at all with losing Fuld.
But… New Toys!
A broken one from the start.
Send Reddick & Barton off, call up Freiman & Taylor?
Taylor deserves a shot.
you. i like you
Thanks, and go As.
Meh > Ugh
Kendrys Morales would be a great fit, but there’s no way in hell it’s going to happen.
Nelson Cruz wouldn’t look so bad now…
If he makes it to the draft without signing, I could see it happening. Really a perfect fit.
Might as well go all-in and grab an infielders while we’re at it.
anyone else thinking about what it would take to get him in june?
he would become the highest paid player on the team, yeah?
i mean he is a 2 WAR player at best. but he turned down $14M. would it take a 2/30 (prorated) contract?
Nelson Cruz turned down 14M and wound up with 1/8, and I assume there was a bigger market for him.
But presumably Morales will be able to sign for more (at least on a prorated basis) if he waits it out until the point where he no longer costs a draft pick.
that is what I am guessing. I suppose there will be a market. I am not sure who needs a DH right now besides the A’s.
Barton- 2 for 25….
Lawn Dart with the worm-burner.
That’s two (I think)!
Punto is supposed to provide great defense right?
Supposed to.
Gonna be hard to overturn this one.
Inconclusive.
At Safeco, on the Seager ball that was initially called a home run, they showed several inconclusive replays during the review on the in-stadium HD video board, but then between innings they put up a graphic “Conclusive Replay” and showed the angle that proved the ball foul.
out (x2)
On the replay the ball’s in Barton’s glove juuuust as the foot’s hitting the base. Inconclusive to me.
Umps made the only decision they could on that review.
He was probably safe, but no where near good enough to overturn it.
Yeah. If it was safe on the field and Melvin challenged, the result would have stood.
Exactly. And both review conclusions would have been the right one. Still, I do like that they look it and make an effort.
Yes, credit goes to Barton there for the stretch.
Anaheim was just totally deflated.
Well, they lost to a team that had Punto-Reddick-Barton at the bottom of its batting order.
GP
And that’s another win.
Little Nicky makes the defense interesting in the 9th.
On the other hand, nice win, bitches.
Mete and right, baby. Mete and right.
Tied for 2nd best record in MLB, top of the AL by 2 wins!
A lot a times the bad losses hurt more than the good wins are good, but that is a damn nice win.
Think about it this way. It’s a good win. And a BAD loss that’s going to hurt THEM. (Hopefully)
I think of the slegna as IT not THEM.
The Angels’ bullpen is such a mediocrity, if they can get the game to Frieri for the 9th inning, they need to win just about every one of those.
I was trying to decide how I felt about this one in the 9th (pre jaso).
On the one hand, I hate wasting good pitching. On the otherhand, there were several wasted opportunities that made me think a win was undeserved.
Also, this offensive performance shows the pressing need for right handed depth. I really miss Jonny Gomes for that. I am not sure Frieman is the answer. As much as I love barton, (I can’t finish this thought)
So yes, Very satisfying win, but for me, I don’t think this wold have been a disappointing loss Had Jaso not been so Boss-o.
That game was the best matchup of the series for the A’s. The last two games appear not to favor us, so a loss would have been troubling.
I’m really not too worried about the lineup against LHPs. Cespedes crushes lefties. The team was 30 OPS points better against LHP last year. Punto vs. LHP is basically the same thing as Sogard vs. RHP. Also replacing Reddick/Barton with Coco would make the offense look better.
Last year, Donaldson and Norris lit up lefties (as in top 5 in MLB). While I don’t think either is quite that good, they both will hit them plenty.
The biggest problem against lefties is losing Moss. We have all underrated how useful Freiman was last year in that respect. I just wish he could get a little better at defense.
I feel like Jaso really does not get appreciated enough by A’s fans.
Since 2012, he has a 150 wRC+ against righties. That’s 10th among all players with at least 500 at bats during that time, tied with Carlos Gonzalez. And he has a career .325/.423/.513 line against the slegnA.
Agreed. I have always appreciated him. Very happy with that trade, very bummed when he went down last year. The catching platoon is pretty awesome on offense. I hope he gets moved back to #2/sometimes #1 in the order where he was last year.
His defense really is pretty bad though…
If you look at Cole’s stats you might not be very happy. K9>9 and BB9 of 2 last year in A+ and AA. Tiernan is pitching in the bigs and Krol helped them get Fister.
Last year Jaso was worth 1.2 WAR and he is only projected to be 2 WAR this year.
I wouldn’t say it was a good trade. Especially since Norris seems capable of handling the position.
Cole was a complete wild card when traded because he sucked in A+ the year before. Even though he had a good year last year, he’s still not regarded as a top 100 prospect by BA. I’d regard him as a B prospect, B- when traded last year, and I’m a big Cole fan going back to when they first traded for him.
Treinen and Krol are non elite relievers. 3 years of a 2 WAR catcher for a B, B- wild card and two relievers seems about equal to me. Plus, the A’s are competing these next three years so the marginal wins Jaso provides is important. And given how Norris was abysmal against righties last year, I don’t regard him as a valid full time option yet.
Cole is the #2 prospect in the Nats system.
Mlb.com ranks him #69 overall which is done by Callis IIRC who use to be BA
On BA’s exlusion
Treinen was a starter until the Nats needed an extra BP arm. He has a career K/BB of 3.41
That’s interesting. I thought it was odd that Cole was excluded. But this confirms to me that while Cole is a good prospect, it doesn’t seem like he’s considered to be a great one, and his median outcome is not something we’d regret losing too much. In any case, you have to trade quality for quality.
Treinen turned out better than expected but you neglected to mention that his K rate dropped to 6/9 after he moved up to AA. I don’t see a quality big league starter there so I maintain that he and Krol are two inconsequential relievers.
1.2 WAR in 70 games is pretty good.
Thanks, and go As.
Thats fine if thats a managerial decision and not something that happened because you can’t play your position and are likely to have a reoccuring similar injury.
Why do you think it’s likely to be reocurring
Thanks, and go As.
Catchers tend to have foul balls hit their faces.
Foul balls tend to cause concussions.
Those with a history of concussions are more susceptible to future head injuries.
The trade pieces aside, isn’t it good to combine WAR among catchers, or at least look at what you’re getting (or expect to get) out of both Norris and Jaso, since that position usually has more time split instead of someone playing every day?
Looks like ZIPS expects about 4 WAR combined between the two, with both about even.
Part of the invisibleness is the concussion that held him out for the stretch of 2013. And the Heroics of Vogt.
belated that was rad.
…and Johnson gets the W.
That was tremendously satisfying, in a John Jaso Jingleheimer Deja Vu kinda way. Reminded me of the fastball Kevin Jepsen threw to Jaso almost exactly a year ago.
So, I don’t want to come off like a total asshole but.. that Clarty guy or whatever his name is that’s doing Towny’s old job (that should be Tittle’s now) is completely FKing unlistenable.
Thanks, and go As.
The whole station’s unlistenable except for A’s games. Townsend’s morning show is astonishingly bad (though he’s the strongest of the three hosts by a million light years).
Channel was still on this morning cause I had the postgame on last night.
You’ll be SHOCKED to know that they talked about the Giants for my entire (10 minute) drive.
Thanks, and go As.
They had a football guy on during my 10 minute drive, who gave the enlightened opinion that Andrew Bogut is a big baby who doesn’t want it enough for not playing with broken ribs because that’s how they do it in the National Football League.
Yeah, let’s ignore the fact that where the broken rib is, it could puncture a lung.
Some people are fucking idiots.
Sports talk radio in general is unlistenable, to me.
Well, yeah. But I mean, it was the A’s postgame that used to be the CT show.
I know I’ll sound like an asshole, but the dude’s lisp and his constant “and uh” or “um” all the FKing time is maddening.
Thanks, and go As.
Again, I know lots of people don’t like him and he says tons of dumb stuff, but Rick Tittle can at least speak extemporaneously on the radio without tripping over his own brain all the time like this guy and The other Guy.
true.
and he’s actually a fan of the team.
Thanks, and go As.
A hopeless bottom of the order, and just one run against a guy who hadn’t pitched well. The fact that the A’s won anyway feels like a gift.
And the fact that the Angels lost as a result wraps it with ribbon and a bow.
And the rangers lost.
Talk me down from worrying about the mariners?
They’re the Mariners.
I think they will be pretty good this year, but I would still rank them fourth for their chances at the division title.
They have the two best players in the division, but the rest of their roster is pretty bad. I put them ahead of the Angels though.
Well, the best pitcher, and the SECOND best position player.
Oh yeah…He looked so bad last night that I plum forgot he was in the division.
Their starting pitching would/will be very strong if/when they are all healthy. It should be the best in the division. Offense is not as bad as it has been. I’m somewhat worried about them. Tough to rank the three. The current Rangers and Mariners rosters are both bad so hopefully they’ll do some losing the next few weeks.
I’d like them all to just keep beating up on each other while we continue to steal series after series from them all.
God I love Exasperated Scioscia Face. It may be my favorite thing in sports.
pics or he didn’t pout.
that was a glorious reaction to the challenge.
The MLB record is 6, the A’s is 4 (KC), and the Oakland A’s is 3 … we can do this!
And the 89 A’s did it twice in 2 weeks.
Keep being you, ESPN.
They won?
Even Halos Heaven seems to have slipped in terms of their wrist-slitting.

Meaning that the schadenfreude isn’t quite as delicious as before?
wow. SBN has homogenized the comments on all sites.
I hope blez sold early
In an odd twist of fate, Halos Heaven has actually gotten better and smarter the last few years as AN has gone downhill. A huge part of that is because they’ve added other writers beside Rev.
Adding any other voices beyond Rev was bound to help.
So that was the first game I’ve been able to watch this season. Reddick looks completely lost at the plate. Barton looks completely lost everywhere. Chavez looks amazing. Callaspo seems to have gotten even slower, but the man knows how to hit a blooper.
JCS
This pitch is FKing nasty
Thanks, and go As.
For real.
Jesse’s always had the stuff. Now he has the command. The final question is if he could maintain this over the 180 innings or so the A’s are going to need him for this year, not including playoffs.
Personally, I’d like him to maintain it through the playoffs as well. But I’m crazy like that.
Doesn’t matter. Oakland is going to get knocked out of the playoffs by a play involving a dropped transfer, a play at the plate, and instant replay.
No, no, no. That’s how we lose the World Series.
Also, Barton will be involved. And it’ll be his fault.
Barton’s going to be picked up by the Brewers?
No, he’ll pitch run for some random pitcher.
he’ll slow up thinking he scored the winning run and somehow the third out will be made first. A Merkle for the new century.
He’ll be in the stands. Bart(on)man.
Seems that everyone is finally railing on this idiotic exchange rule. Fun that the A’s are front and center on most of these articles.
fix it now.
Yup. Absolutely. I say we start a chant “Fix it now” anytime it’s incorrectly applied at the Coli.
Did anyone ever complain about this as a big problem before? Did I miss something?
It’s a pretty big problem. It’s been on-going over the last week because they basically instituted it at the very beginning of the season and didn’t didn’t really announce anything. It was basically, “Oh yeah, this is the rule interpretation of the rule, so deal with it.”
(i think he means, was it a problem in 2013 and before. The answer is no, it has never been an issue. )
I am guessing in the replay committee meeting someone asked if that was reviewable and an idiot was placed in charge of teh subcommittee on transfers and no one fired him/her.
Yes, that’ what I meant. It wasn’t a problem until the geniuses running baseball made it one this year.
Even ESPN now has addressed it. The one key thing missing in EVERY article about is a response from MLB. Why aren’t they asking Selig et al, um WHY.
Selig is putting together a committee to evaluate the issue as we speak.
Oh good. Then we should have a response never.
So, how come NYY get to celebrate Jackie Robinson’s Day?
Well, duh.
It’s going to be re-named Derek Jeter day, obviously.
Jeter had to overcome adversity too. Four teams passed over him in the draft!
And he spent time in the minors. THE MINORS!!!
Don’t forget the day he had to face one of his concubines and tell her that the gift baskets were out of stock
Please. He has people to deliver such messages.
Yes, but he had to talk to one of his people. How barbaric.
i heard all teams are being asked to retire his salary number.
I heard in the last home game they are gonna play a tape over the PA of Bob Sheppard reading Jeter’s stock portfolio aloud, to the cheers of the Yankee Stadium faithful (or at least those among them that can afford $1500 fro a bleacher seat).
Because they drafted him right out of college in 1929 and nobly broke the racial barrier with him in 1932, and he rewarded them by leading them to their first of 41 consecutive championships and also by becoming the first black man ever to walk on the moon. Don’t you watch ESPN?
this article is a joy to read
All of those one-sentence paragraphs!! They make it seem like he is intentionally riffing on old Plaschke columns, but sadly I don’t think that’s the case.
I looked through a few of the guy’s other columns. He deliberately tries to be a local newspaper version of Andy Rooney. I’m sure he’s thrilled that Deadspin fell for it.
An original theme addressed with profound insight and ready wit.
WAAAAHH I’M OLD AND CAN’T HANDLE THESE NEW FANGLED THINGS CALL THE TELEPHONE!!! WAAAAH!!
There are none so blind as…well…umpires.
Grrrrr.
and also
Blah blah blah.
That’s good shit.
A’s are 6-0 in the new green alt jerseys.
I still don’t like the back of those jerseys, nor the road caps. But a win is a win and I have no problem suffering through them if those are the results they give us.
the caps are not right.
I can’t believe that that got approved/
Yeah, they’re downright awful.
I think they’re fine, really don’t see what so many of you object to.
the white.
I don’t find them bad on their own, but not with the grays or green tops. Which is all they will be used with.
“And the A’s take the field on this sunny Saturday in Minnesota, wearing the road caps…and nothing else!”
White & yellow as colors are just too close together and have a tendency to bleed into each other when you look at them. Especially on TV or in shadows. So it comes out as a very thick, blocky “A’s” and it’s just not at all appealing.
I like the yellow on white accents, I find them subtle.
They just don’t work for me at all. White and yellow are both just too bright of colors to gel right. There’s zero contrast so it doesn’t show any separation. It might work if combined they were the normal sized logo, but since they just took the normal sized look and added an outline, they may as well have just made the entire ginormous block all white for how well the subtly shows.
oh noes, 0-2 in gold!
Manchester City have overtaken the Yankees as the highest-paying sports team in the world, while the A’s jumped from 139th last year to 100th this.
Average salary against rank:
That plot is average salary per team member, not total team salary? There is a lot of discrepancy in roster size between different sports. I don’t even know how many players are on a Premier League team.
Yes, average per team member. Premier League first team squads are 25 players, but clubs have reserve and junior squads too.
Naturally
Why isn’t Reddick batting 9th? Or not at all?
because CONFIDENCE! DINGERZ! HANDEDNESS! SECOND LEADOFF!
I heard talk of this recently on some podcast. The culture now is that batting ninth is a place of honor now for speedy guys who aren’t good enough to lead off. 8th is where the worst hitter bats.
Ha. I’m guessing someone made that up.
Tony La Russa.
With these 9 guys, I think this is pretty dang close to the optimal lineup. If you believe Reddick isn’t permanently broken.
I like Jaso leading off, I am not sure what to expect from Cepedes*
*I realize I am calling a professional write out. I do appreciate that. let it be.
Huh?
He was snarking about SuSlu’s typo. But then made a typo himself, because he’s Ed.
and it was totally unintentional! I swear.
Well this has gone poorly
has it Dr. K?
We all gotta Dr. K sometime
I love being famous, even if it’s for my penchant for wrong-threading.
Multi-threading sounds much sexier.
