      We didn’t get an Eleven this weekend, but the boys put on a helluva three-day run at the Greek. Yesterday’s afternoon show was outstanding, so much energy. Bobby looking and sounding good, which is nice to see after the collapse in NY.

        Glad ye had funz… honestly I am not at all a Deadhead. Bob Weir, while I’m sure a very nice person, makes my skin crawl as a guitarist and singer 99% of the time — the exception being the version of Long Black Veil they played as an acoustic set staple back in May and June of 1970. I stick with Spring 1970 and Spring 1977, and for me the 16-track “lost” mix of Aoxomoxoa (only available in that 180 gram vinyl box that came out in 2011) is their best record by far and away.

        Those setlists look very familiar. The visual of the 50-something women trying to twirl and going down with pulled hamstrings and strained obliques is tough to clear from my mind though.

            I only read medical shit.

            By BNFF discovered a Facebook page that is amazing. It almost made me get a Facebook account. Bizarre injuries. I was queasy and aroused all at the same time. I needes stories behind the injuries though. We also watch surgeries on YouTube. Mostly in third world countries. That’s how I usually spend my time. I’m trying to broaden my horizons.

    While looking up the television info I came across this. We hope Buck and McCarver work at least 8 A’s postseason games, but what then?

    This year marks Tim McCarver’s 24th year as a World Series analyst. It will also be his last.

    (Fox Sports has) quietly gone about figuring out its plans for next year and SI.com has learned that Harold Reynolds, John Smoltz and Tom Verducci have emerged as the leading candidates to replace McCarver. There are also other candidates being considered including current major leaguers A.J. Pierzynski (Rangers) and Torii Hunter (Tigers), though it’s unlikely both would retire after excellent seasons.

    On Sunday, after an inquiry from SI.com on the topic, a Fox Sports spokesperson declined comment.

      NL WAR values (I looked them up because I don’t pay attention to the NL at all)

      1. McCutchen — 8.2
      2. Gomez — 7.6
      3. Matt Carpenter (who the FK is this guy?) — 7.0
      4. Kershaw — 6.5
      5. Goldschmidt — 6.4
      6(t). Votto — 6.2
      6(t). Wainwright — 6.2
      8. Harvey — 6.1
      9(t). Yadier Molina — 5.6
      9(t). Tulo — 5.6

      With the Pirates having their first winning season in forever, how do you not give the award to McCutchen?

    I had a dream last night that MLB announced that both the Friday and Saturday games would be in the morning, and then I woke up in the middle of the night not knowing whether it was real or not but too tired to check my phone, so instead I lay their obsessively trying to sort out how to wriggle out of my various responsibilities to make it.

    They really need to announce the times already before I go completely nuts.

    • Kay Sep 30,2013 9:57 am || Up

      That’s weird… I had a dream kinda like that, mixed with my experiences of my day at Folsom Street Fair…

      In my dream, somehow, getting the hood off my head would keep the A’s off of MLB Network (which means radio only for most of us NRAF’s, right?), so I had to find out which booth my domme was at so I could beg her to take the hood off my head so I could watch the A’s game.

      That’s what I get for a day of barking at random gay men in Doug Fister jerseys, I guess.

        FWIW, the TBS program schedule shows them carrying three games, beginning at 10:30, 2, and 5:30 pacific. MLB Network’s schedule does not show a game time yet, but it seems likely to me that they will want it to be a late game with, say, a 7 pm start, which means us as the only west coast game. Sorry.

                The smugness on his face when he threw Hananananana out bothers me the most. He fails to verify the ball was in his glove. Didn’t he consider that he didn’t throw the ball BACK IN. And then has that kind of nerve. God. MLB needs to fire these guys. Yes, we may not replace them with better umps. But then again, we may just do exactly that. And just keep tossing them back at the end of the year until you do.

              sounds nice, though… the problem with all these hot chicks bending down and worshipping me everywhere i go is, i never really get a chance to check out their butts.

              whew. took me all night to work up that persona. i’m exhausted. going back to bed. quiet-hours worshipping only please.

                  You think that’s some great revelation, but I already know that. Also, that sentence could apply to any woman in the world in reference to me.

      Oh good–hopefully you’ll be groggily waking up to the A’s sending the Tigers packing.

        My ultrasound tech said, “This is the largest gallstone I’ve ever seen.” This should be interesting. I might make it a ring. One week off, followed by a week of light duty.

        If only the A’s were at home that day, it could have been a walk-off Pielogram.

            We don’t know the times yet. Could be the early, early game. Could be the latety late game.

            • andeux Oct 1,2013 3:23 pm || Up

              The late game will be in LA, the other three are all in the Eastern time zone, so could be in any order.
