Can they really keep doing this? Day game, no local TV, Fosse’s in the radio booth with VC and Roxie. Joy ensues.

Coco at it again!
Lowrie is a useful player.
OK. Good start. Scored and made him work.
LATE MOVEMENT!
Thanks, and go As.
Better late than never.
Actually mid-morning is the regular time for me. Wait, what are we talking about?
Bartolo sitting at 89-91 according to gameday. That’s not great.
This is on MLB Network, NRAFs.
I am having a glorious morning. I found a thread of leatherdyke coming-out stories from the 60’s & 70’s and got totally engrossed in it… forgot the game was at 10…
I like turning on the radio or tv to see the A’s with an early lead.
If the A’s win today, this series will remind me somewhat of the 4-game sweep against the Yankees last year that renewed the hope for the stretch-drive charge.
yep, i was thinking yankees’ 4fer too, mood- and symbol-wise
I was thinking about the Cleveland sweep, just because these games haven’t been as close as the Yankees games.
Fking Angel Hernandez {spits}
I meant last year’s Cleveland sweep. But yes. FKing him.
Woot!
Keebs
Everyone is going to be so bummed if Scherzer doesn’t get his 20th W.
Awwww. His future is SOOOO bright.
orioles claimed willingham
Thanks, and go As.
Orioles done claimed e’rybody.
Hide yo kids, hide yo wives.
But have they made the deal yet?
Negatory.
Thanks, and go As.
45 pitches though.
I volunteered to be a fire warden at work. No one else from radio did. The training was scheduled for 10 AM today. Then the head of building services sent out a change, which I noticed was to 9:30, but failed to notice was also to next Thursday. So I showed up at work three hours early for a nonexistent meeting, which none of my colleagues could warn me about since none of them were going. I couldn’t even hang out at my desk and watch the game, since I share my cube with someone who leaves just when I arrive at 12:30. So I came home….
And what have we learned here?
Next time, don’t volunteer for shit and let all my colleagues burn at their desks!
Exactly.
:(
at least you didn’t have to face the BART trials i’m hearing about.
The Tigers really ought to think about bunting to Colon a lot.
I need 3 tickets for Saturday.
anybody?
Thanks, and go As.
I’m not buying them for you.
Then I’m not buying you tittysprinkle pasta.
Thanks, and go As.
You had a chance for me to buy you tickets.
This is news.
Thanks, and go As.
Yes. But old news.
I don’t have cable so I don’t watch the news.
Thanks, and go As.
I asked if anyone wanted to go to games with me next month. I had some takers. Mostly no, though. Got tickets for myself. I even had Primo seats one night.
I did not see that.
Thanks, and go As.
Sorry. :( That would have been interesting.
:|
Thanks, and go As.
Gameday has the last 4 seam fastball from Colon at 87? That’s kinda worrisome.
Gameday doesn’t know if its a four seem fb. Looks like his velocity is higher than the past 4-5 starts, but still substantially lower than the rest of the season.
It’s not using pitchfx data? Why does it differentiate between two and four seam fastballs then?
It is, but its just a guess based on some algorithm, probably just means it didn’t have much movement.
Looking at Colon’s gamelogs they have him throwing anywhere from 82% FA, 11% FT (April 6) to 11% FA, 73% FT (April 17). That has to be mostly (all?) variation in their classification algorithm, not variation in his pitch selection.
Let it be known. Let it be said.
I’m pretty sure when you quote your own Twitter account a weird space worm hole thingy open up and puppies cry.
Well, I wasn’t in here at the moment and I wanted the timestamp seen. ;-)
Jury says they’ll let it slide.
Still lame.
Also. He’s taking the fall when we lose this game.
What’s the point of a prediction if you don’t get it written in time? ;-)
(i need on more time on base for barton)
Score one for me.
We haven’t used our bullpen yet. Don’t be so greedy.
What was my prediction above? ;-)
“Insist on hand-grown California avocados.”
What does this even mean?
No machines were used to the growing of said avocados. Or did you not get that they were grown in California?
If avocados are growing out of your hands, you seriously need to get a nail brush.
i know! i get all sorts of images in my head that involve the original meanings of the words ahuacatl and testament.
I had to laugh earlier when Ray was praising Cabrera for his unselfish, team-oriented behavior in refusing to DH so that Victor Martinez can play, even though Cabrera “can barely walk!”, Ray said approvingly.
Also a classic moment of bad Vincing, when he was describing the uniforms: something like “the A’s are wearing their road grays, with the gold and green lettering, green undershirts and the white tops with the Old English D (pause for breath) for the Tigers.”
Weird that the A’s would be wearing the Tigers’ uniforms.
he frequently talks about 2 people/teams and then in the same sentence says they:this
In this case, the A’s are just honoring the Tigers by wearing a white top of the Old English D on it. Glad he added “for the Tigers” otherwise it would have been weird.
LOL. He can barely walk, yet he thinks he can get to second on that?
loltiggers
That was scary.
OMG BARTON JUST NEVER SWINGS AND ALWAYS TRIES TO DRAW A WALK
Thanks, and go As.
Dude, try to keep up. We all love Barton now.
Definitely would’ve rather had DB than Reddick in that situation.
why do you hate him? he’s like one of the best guys on the team this week.
Can you not see the sarcasm caps?
oh. i thought he wrote like that to look taller.
Why would he want to do that?
Andeux/anyone – got a good recommendation for a simple/clean site to follow the game now that yahoo is eyeball-searingly bad? ESPN is the least-bad I’ve found so far.
mlb.com?
Too busy.
gameday lite?
You mean mini, or is there a version I’m missing?
Classic
Trying that now.
yeah, that’s what I was thinking of.
lite is the phone version without gameday, just scores and ads for things to buy, such as gameday.
speaking of which, is there a free phone gameday-like from one of the ESPN/other carriers?
ESPN Scorecenter
thank you.
have i mentioned how useful these dainty things are for desktop side-screening of phone apps?
Doesn’t the giant tea cup get in the way?
tsk. it’s regular sized.
Huh. Smaller than you think.
You can still get the mini gameday box, which I really like.
Thanks, and go As.
I’m trying that now.
Keeps freezing up on me.
I LOVE the mini gameday box, especially with the radio plan…
Scroll through… something looks interesting… listen in…
Fk yeah.
CBS Sports is still pretty clean.
And about a batter behind the action.
Speaking of the new Yahoo Sports, which apparently knows where I live but nothing else about me, under My Teams it lists the Niners, Raiders, Giants, Warriors, and Sharks. 1 out of 5, Marissa.
Every month they seem to be making a new change that makes it even worse than before. Who the fk are they running this shit by to see if people like it?
8-year olds, dude.
Not even sure they’d like it.
But you can go in and customize it, which promotes engagement!
Colon being good again would be pretty nice…
You’re asking too much.
Please keep this going for the next two months.
Reasonable request.
MOSSOME
Thanks, and go As.
Don’t you mean:
FK YEAH!
That’s the idea.
Don’t look at his eyes! For the love of god, don’t look at his eyes!
That’s probably the deepest HR Moss hit in this series.
Moss is fking unreal when he’s hot.
Nice call by Roxy.
I really like him. My fantasy is to foist vince on you TV heathens and keep Roxy
I’m entirely fine with Vince as the TV guy. His announcing style is as if you’re able to see what he’s seeing. So the non-sequiturs and strange remarks wouldn’t be nearly as annoying. And we’d get rid of “DRILLED” “THAT BABY IS GONE” Glen.
I’ve said it before, but it bears repeating. Roxy, like KK and BK, has vast experience broadcasting basketball on the radio. Broadcasting basketball on the radio is hard. It’s no coincidence that he is able to translate that into clearly describing baseball action as it happens to people who can’t see it.
When you think about how good Bill King was at calling basketball, so much else falls into place.
I’ve actually never heard any of his basketball work. If you know of any good recordings on the interwebs, I would be quite appreciative.
Would love tohear it as well. I have been told he may have been best at basketball, which blows my mind given how I loved him at baseball and football.
I dunno how much is out there any more but he recapped some stuff from the Warriors winning a championship and there are some calls. I also found a Purvis Short bit.
For some reason the other one isn’t embedding, so here.
I also heard there is some story of him cussing out a ref/player/someone up and down the court while the mic was open.
I’ve heard similar.
“mother’s day.”
you shall read all about it in the upcoming book.
Does audio exist?
Well, it’s not on the Bill King bobblehead, I know that much.
i don’t know. we’ve been really busy getting the book to print (done) in order to meet the release date (sept 7), and now the publisher is busy finishing his own book, but as soon as there’s a moment to breathe, he’s going to work on the website and add the promised pages. hopefully the calls page will fill out.
dammit. the preorder button doesn’t work. go to the facebook for news, anyway.
Need to hear this.
You’ve heard him swearing while recording stuff for pregame shows, right?
Yeah. I love that.
Good, because I’m having trouble finding it now.
id be down
That Moss HR would’ve cleared the tunnel a little to the right in RF.
First time all year Max has given up six runs.
Apparently his offense averages 6 runs a game for him. Or something like that.
God, what a waste of a leadoff triple.
If only Moss hadn’t murdered the rally.
Donaldson always hits them when they don’t matter. Not a gamer.
A’s are also on MLB network on Labor Day.
Awesome.
I’m SO rooting for him.
Was he the one who punched his asshole dad, or was that his brother?
That was him, but it’s well in the past and they handled their business.
hahahahahaha
Well, that was kind of a comedy of errors on that hit by Miguel Cabrera.
Did Coco just get an outfield assist?!
Cabrera should really get an assist on that, too.
He had one earlier this year, no?
on trout!
Idea: Cabrera vs. Morales baserunning contest.
Ed: Five!
I’ll take it
The hell is Sogard bunting for?
Posterity?
I hope he is OK for Cleveland
Or at least the Red Sox.
I am a little better with him out today
abdominal pains, day to day
Wow – $765M settlement deal on NFL concussions, capped at $5 million for Alzheimer’s, $4 million for chronic traumatic encephalopathy (post mortem); and $3 million for dementia.
Well, good thing that’s settled. Let’s never talk about the NFL’s concussion problem again, right!
Hits to the head are ok now, right?
You got…{unison} JACKED UP!!!
Nope, but we blame every knee injury on concussion-prevention rules
Well, time to go to work…again.
Each player in our lineup has exactly one hit.
Huh.
So just saw the MLB network commercial about the playoffs. They have a Facendaish voice talking about the summer wind and playing into autumn or something..
JUST FKING GO THE WHOLE WAY
He’ll hit you in various places and invert your body. And chuckle when he’s foiled and claimed victory.
NONONONONONONOO not blevins
TNWFS
NSF5RL
I dont ever need to hear about Prince Fielders “happy zone”.
Can we DFA Blevins and get Neshek back?
or sign brian wilson for $1.1M?
NEVER!
Yeah, no thanks.
Only if he shaves.
His soul.
I wish he would just come out already.
Neshek did clear waivers and went to Sacramento.
So he’ll be back on Sunday?
Yay!
But we have Bert in the bullpen now!
It’s just not the same without Ernie.
grand ball please
ground, well there is an out
Blevins would definitely have served up a grand ball if only Melvin would have let him load the bases first.
I like how barton is blamed for the run
is ray getting worse, or am i just on a which hunt?
I’m going with Soaker’s theory that he has a few screwdrivers with breakfast on road getaway days.
which is today.
he is boarderline unlistenable
I frequently have to mute TV games because of he & Glen.
which is even worse.
It’s why I wish we could just get the stadium sound with no commentary for TV.
which is too bad.
He’s getting worse. I used to love him, but especially over the last few seasons he’s gotten progressively worse. And this season he seems to be sliding even faster.
which hopefully his last.
Yeah. I know a couple of people who still love him, but man I really hope they get rid of both he & Glen for next season.
Remember when you felt pretty good about the A’s chances with a 3-run lead and a rested Doolittle and Cook late in the game?
Good times, good times.
No. Tell me about it.
Vince and now roxy have now both made reference to being surprised about games that callaspo strikes out twice.
I haven’t looked up his strikeout rate yet. be it surprises me that it would be surprising.
He’s a very low strikeout guy.
the tigers announcers mentioned it too
He strikes out 10% of the time. A little less this season.
Very glad we didnt pull Danny boy to go with “we must do 7,8,9” BS.
cook and doolittle need to be ROOGY LOOGY for the 8th
crap. come on otero…
by which i mean come out otero.
If it makes you feel better, I read it as retro. It probably doesn’t, but I also thought it funny that I did.
when you said peanut allergy recently i read peanut gallery.
(i think it was you.)
I think it was me too. And that’s awesome.
So a “Mason” from the A’s called my work yesterday looking for me.
I don’t think I have put my work number on anything ever, but I can assume he is season ticket guy?
Can you ask him for 3 tickets on Saturday for me? Thx. ♥
Thanks, and go As.
I think he’s one of the ticket reps who’s visited us in the parking lot a time or two.
wonder how he got my number, or why he is calling.
You could always pick up the phone and ask him.
PS If I call your work asking for you please return my call… i am in jail.
same here.
ok, ok.
Degenerates.
Me too. But I’d also want to say “hi.”
was it a secret number? because the masons know all the secrets.
to be one, just ask one
niice.
There is exactly 1 person here at work. me. I don’t know why I have my door closed.
Privacy.
You’ve already started Lounging, eh?
Can we rename this thread “No Motown Hits”?
Only if you say “Please.”
I don’t beg.
It’s not begging. It’s being polite.
I’m not polite.
I know.
MotherFKer.
Go figure. Doolittle was fine. It looked like they were harmless fly balls.
I like it when my balls fly harmlessly.
pls don’t slide on your hands and knees, catcher…
I don’t know what this means, but I hope it means Suzuki is coming in in the 9th.
vogt did an awkward takeout slide at 2nd. then he stood up and bent down showing a little bit of knee hurty.
just a scrape prolly.
ugh
balsix.
TaFS, Balfour, TaFS
Excellent use of title case.
One.
11 pitches 4 strikes
two.
and no more.
BOOBIES
Also, two
COME THE FUCK ON!
ok, ok. just get this guy
Come on, Grant. Find the right kind of RAGE.
WTFF with balfour?
oh jesus i’m gonna rage on something alright.
i would not want to be on the plane with him
Fuck you Grant
Thanks, and go As.
Somehow I had a feeling that was going to happen.
Oh Fuck Me
FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUdge
NOOOOOO
Hey Grant, I’d let the other 24 do the swearing for now.
I feel a peace I thought I couldn’t feel
3-1 ain’t bad, considering how we went in. still, i had an appropriate marvin gaye song lined up that i just had to put back in my pocket.
Well, hey. Three out of four on the road against the team with the best Pythag record in baseball.
46 runs on a 7 game roadie.
win 4 games.
6 runs from the bullpen today
Now if only the FKing Rangers would lose.
I’m a total Pythag hag.
Hee hee!
It’s James’ fault.
How is it Rick James’ fault? Although I AM super-freakin’ out.
Nope. I was right.
It’s your fault whether you were right or not.
Hubris.
Remember when I wanted to trade Balfour at the height of his value?
Yeah, he blew the game in royal fashion today. But who would you rather close on a contending team? Cook, who has been shaky? Doolittle, who has been awful except for today? Closers don’t have it sometimes.
its true that there are no good options, but Balfour has been shakey since before the all star break
We could have gotten a real piece and gone with cook
I don’t agree with trading him but I absolutely would not bring him back next year.
I agree. And setting aside the wisdom of making Cook the closer now, how much value does Balfour have? He would have been a rental for a contender that wouldn’t want to give up a player helping them win this year.
I would see what his price is before making any decisions…he’s had a good year in the role.
My assumption is that his price tag will be too high, and that he will want a 3-year deal.
That would be too high obviously…I like the idea of one year deals for closers…they tend to fade and the A’s always seem to find a new one fairly easily.
The Rangers were trying to get a challenge trade going with Nathan. We should have too.
I don’t understand this statement.
I do recall your advocacy for trading him.
A challenge trade is you need ML pitching and are contending, I need hitting. Trade ML parts.
I think that we could have gotten Inglesias with the addition of a prospect.
Trading one of your best relievers when you’re 5 games up at the time would’ve been monumentally stupid. And Iglesias + was traded for the best starting pitcher on the market, so I seriously doubt you would’ve gotten that for half a year of a reliever.
The better comparable would’ve been Jose Veras being traded for this guy. No thanks.
Half a season of non closer Francisco Rodriguez got the Brewers Nick Delmonico
Uh… wow.
I could see that coming on my phone. You can’t be walking people who can’t hurt so you can face the guy who can.
Yeah, fine. The road trip, and especially the Detroit phase, went better than expected. But the Rangers don’t care. They just keep gaining ground, beating up on King Felix.
I just woke up and found out what happened. This is not the way I wanted to start the day.
Gah.
Almost as bad as that game against the Yankees last year.
Then don’t go in the game?
Thanks, and go As.
It seems like people only say those types of things after they stunk up the joint.
Yeah, I think that pisses me off even more. If that’s case either A) don’t come in the game or B) pull yourself out of the game. Doing C) staying in and “toughing it out” is just fking selfish and a dick move to pull in a team game.
But that’s his role, his inning. That’s kind of part of his game in a way, the “you will pry this ball from my cold stiff fingers” thing like the end of last season when he wouldn’t answer the phone in a 12-5 romp even though he’d pitched the last 6 days in high stress outings.
The reality is he and all other closers probably go out there in a certain, relatively small percentage of games where they feel like their arm is the weight of Jupiter or whatever… they got nuthin minus nuthin and it’s all on pride and adrenaline. Such is the role of the modern closer: you never see them (whether it’s Mariano Rivera or Balfour or Rodney or whoever you wanna name) excuse themselves, it’s a bell you are supposed to answer whether or not you’re feeling 100 or even 50 percent and that’s what they do and are expected to do.
Pardon me if I get all MC Escher but you could make a case that taking him out in that game compromises a closer’s confidence for the next game…. that in a weird sort of Zen way, they have to blow it sometimes in a spectacular way — and when closer’s clam a game, it’s almost always soul-crushing and spectacularly awful in the moment — to be able to experience the failure that holds the keys to their eventual success.
OK, I’m going to lunch.
I would have a million percent more respect if he’d said to Melvin before going in “Fuckall, Bob, but my arm feels like oatmeal today. Give Cook the 9th.”
Thanks, and go As.
I don’t really disagree, I’m not saying that I necessarily agree with the way the modern closer is kind of predicated on machismo and going out there gassed to the detriment of the team. I’m just saying maybe that’s how the role has evolved in terms of the way it’s implemented by teams, ours included. Any other guy at any other position, even s starting pitcher, could go to the manager and ask out like that, you’re right.
A player is never going to admit that he doesn’t “have it” and remove himself from the game. Much like when a player insists on playing through injury, it’s up to the coaching staff to recognize that they’re doing more harm than good and make the necessary changes before they hurt the team.
Barry Zito.
Thanks, and go As.
Fair, but one example from nearly ten years ago doesn’t exactly change the point.
And he kind of got flack from a lot of idiots for that.
At the end of the day, spotted a three run lead and no one on. If the pitcher allows the winning run to step up to the plate, I don’t really give a shit who that pitcher is, the manager needs to pull him. If he can’t take the confidence hit that may or may not cause, he has no business pitching in the majors let alone closing games.
So basically I most of all blame Melvin. But even still, if you’re not well you absolutely have to say something or else you’re being completely selfish. And if I heard a teammate say that kind of shit after the game, I’d be all over him for it.
absolutely.
It’s not clear to me if Balfour knew he “had nothing” before he started pitching, or if that only became clear to him as he was out there.
Would it have been a better idea to put Suzuki in for the ninth? Not that he could have stopped Balfour from imploding, but I always felt Kurt was particularly good at the stroll out to the mound, chat the pitcher up, pat him on the back routine, which could have changed the rhythm and perhaps signaled to Melvin that he should start thinking about the hook.
i wanted that. Its true that it probably doesn’t make much of a difference.
But maybe having a bad pitch blocker makes the pitcher be too timid with the slider?
I don’t know. I know announcers say it. don’t know if its true
During the ninth inning, scout *never once* told me that Balfour was showing confidence in his catcher by throwing a slider in the dirt with a man on third. It’s all Vogt’s fault!
Well and if I remember my Ball Four properly, pitchers at times even say that what happens in the bullpen warming up might not be what happens on the mound. They could feel good warming up, go in and have nothing or vice versa. And if that is true, even if you suck ass in the pen you are going to go in and see how it works out. NIP has a point above that part of the aura if you will of the closer is they go in and get it done. None of us really believes it is the “best” way to do it, but as that how we have defined the role I have a hard time blaming GB for living up to it.
But yes, as much as I dont want a Balfour inning taking longer, when you are imploding you need the catcher to go out there and do something-anything- to change the tempo and pace of it. Hell-have him throw at the mascot to shake things up. And I also think Zook could have given a “BoMel get him out NOW” look that might have been listened to.
Wow, that will teach me to go tell my team we laid another person off. This week cant end soon enough.
huh?
We were leading. I had to leave the viewing of the game to deliver bad news at work. I came back and we had lost. So the lesson is I cant go do that.
And this week cant end soon enough because it was a bad end to a bad month. But now a 3 day weekend is almost here.
that sucks
I know I shouldn’t feel this bad, but this one feels like a dagger.
Talk me down. I think I need to eat something.
Make sure to eat something tasty and you’ll feel better.
Eh. They beat (for all intents & purposes) Max FKing Scherzer, and the closer, who has been pretty much as reliable as they come, had an off-day. 3 games vs. 2 behind TEX isn’t a world changer right now.
I’m certainly on the “this sucks” train, and what I wrote above does not reflect my earlier emotional state about it, but…I think it’s not the killer it felt like.
I am just exaltant that I saw every pitch of the 1st 3 games and totally missed this one cuz I was up really really late. If I’d have witnessed the 9th live, on an empty stomach, I fear how I might have reacted. Violence and Joshy meltdown mode might have been a distinct possibility so I am just grateful I woke up just as it ended and read about it in the mimmediate aftermath rather than watched it go down as it happened, Christ I may have eaten my 3TB drive or sumthin.
Yeah…if this game were televised, and if I were at home instead of working, and if I were watching (which, given the first two ifs, I would’ve been), my TV might have a big remote-shaped hole in it now.
Kind of funny; I was out at lunch with my co-workers when this went down, and watching on gameday on the phone. My phone ran out of battery and died midway through the Victor Martinez AB, which left me with a pretty bad feeling about things. When I got back to the office and refreshed gameday on my laptop….
… let’s just say all the corporate people making their corporate demands didn’t get a very corporate answer.
I watched it live. I was like uuuuuh spidey sense no good when runners got on
also this.
You fking people are smrt
This
I’d try to help but I feel like punching something myself. Getting food might help you though. Something you can gnash on as if it were balfour’s face.
Yeah, you can’t really fault him… they all go out there with nothing in some games and this is a team (DET) that will just FK you up if you let them see a single ray of opportunity in a big game.
I am handling this one by telling myself that as awful as it is at least it didn’t happen in a playoff game, given that the trophy almost assuredly runs through the Kitties and this series we pretty much proved we are one of those very few clubs that could conceivably stop them in, say, an ALCS.
blevins in the game is on Melvin.
If you aren’t going to use him with a five runn lead why is he on the team
I think you hit the nail on the head
A sweep would have been nice but 3 out of 4 ain’t half bad.
A sweep would have been nice but 3 out of four ain’t half, Bed.
I guess half a bed would be a twin.
I feel like they (Balfour really) found a way to ruin the achievement of how well they played in DET at the last possible moment, and now they have to fly cross country thinking about it.
I know I tend to dwell in worst cases, but you just cannot lose a game like this, with your foot on the throat of arguably the best team in the thing. I know it’s just one game but this one really sucks bad, an August travesty.
Remember New York last year. One game is one game.
I remember the Alamo…not sure if that helps?
I remember the 1993 Alamo Bowl.
Well, who doesn’t?
that game got us detroit and not baltimore in the ALDS
Good point
and really the cleveland game that the tie was stolen from us is worse.
The good news with baseball is you don’t have long to think about it since there’s usually a game the next day. I would think it’s just as likely that the players look at the series as a success, despite today’s loss, and are feeling pretty good.
I agree that they are probably enjoying the flight, esp. since they are coming home with the sticks just blazing (esp. Moss, who is completely unconscious in the box right now and needs to have a homestand none of us will ever forget)… I sort of picture them on the flight consoling Balfour and saying exactly what you all are saying, remember NY last September, etc etc.
It’s just bugging me to no end what happened today, and I’m glad I stayed up til dawn and slept in and missed it live or I might have eaten the TV in anguish or something. They have to come home and mash, this shit this weekend is FKing huge and we have to play well against another devastating club.
I think what’s got me is that it comes with another of those goddamned bat flips from you-know-who. I swear I am gonna have gay sex at Diamond Level during his ABs, I will do anything to FK up his game if we see them again when the autumn breezes blow.
It being Torii is a bummer. I’m glad I didn’t see it.
I’m looking forward to some big September games. Everything I’ve read and seen makes it seem like this is a loose group of guys so I don’t think the moment will be too big for them.
Top Ten Meatloaf songs:
1. Paradise by the Dashboard Lights
2. I’d Do Anything for Love (But I won’t do that)
…
I’m pretty sure this thread is closed, kid.
3. For Crying Out Loud
if only for the couplet
Per the game result, post title has been updated.
As long as Balfour doesn’t do anything to The Bed, I’m cool.
