So I believe there is a tailgate and Star Trek fireworks. But for us NRAFs and those too busy to make it out, lets talk.

Turkey enchilads are 10 minutes from being done.
I’m actually at a fireworks show. :-)
Cheater!
Nothing like hearing Glenn and Ray be fascinated that the shadows keep advacing every minute. If they didnt know better they would think the world in moving or something…
Dammit. SOrry I will attempt to delete mine. I didn’t see this for some reason
Suuuure…
I am a bad man
thank you whoever
I like youre title better-if this didnt have comments Id kill this.
Royal with Tejada-check out the big brain on Ed!
So at what point does Bob have to discuss moving down the sub .200 SexyFeet?
So I guess we’re just going to get blooped to death.
last night the lone KC run was scored on a bloop.
I think most of us are at the game.
I went last night, very nice, not that many people. great game
ALso I have no idea how to delete, hopefully soaker will pop by and do it for me
Gonna be a long night for the bullpen.
So we are looking for Chavez to lead us to victory tonight. Hope I have a good movie on demand…
Pretty sure Scott Emerson is known as Emo, not Emu.
Sit down, Jesse.
Lynn Nolan Malone
Milone: just good enough to survive the Royals for two innings. I’m scared about the third inning.
Vince, Ervin Santana is an established starter, but not in a good way
Better than I thought.
there are probably 15 people at the game saying “better than I think”
ptbnl is in the ptbnl seats with his daughter. It looks like those might not be so great for a kid with a railing at eye level.
I had mine there, relatively the same size. they move around a lot. it was alright
It’s fine – as Ed says, lots of movement.
Seagull poop and Stomper’s sweaty pits have been the biggest issues.
I’m laughing so hard about Stomper’s pits.
needs to roll in some mud before the game
The biggest laugh was when a kid across the aisle called out “hey, peanut-breath” to get Stomper’s attention.
Did Spock-Stomper put a Vulcan death grip on him?

Greatest Television Episode, ever
BOOBIES
Also, I really wish our guys would start running into outs.
Well when youre a speed demon like So….oh.
moss-oh
Sheesh – you run out for cotton candy and an entire A’s half-inning goes by.
You missed a Sogard
doublesingle.these baserunners are maddening
infield in? bob?
Bullwinkle J. Milone pulls another scoreless inning out of his hat.
I hope he doesn’t musta brought the wrong hat next inning
Well, I’m glad to know that come Monday morning, things will get back to normal ZOMG WUTS TEH MATTER WID TIMMEH.
In Milone’s last 6 starts (including this one) the A’s have scored 6 runs total.
Looks like about time for the pen.
milone can muddle his way through
So I had a weird seating experience last night. We were in a pretty empty 214. no one in the row in front of us and no one in next to us for over 10 seats. pretty much every group had their little islands.
In the fifth, a kid, about 15 or 16 with his friend/borther, around the same age and an adult woman over 50 came by. the kids walked in our row directly up to us and stopped. Looking down. I expected them (both wearing alemeda track hoodings) to hop to the empty row ahead of us and walk out the final 4 seats. when they did not, I stood up and moved the boys back. the kids slowly wakled by us, then, u turnd and sat directly in front of us. IN an empty row.
I figured, maybe it they weren’t really familiar how things work in light crowds. then the kid flagged down the starbucks guy, and paid. then they bought something else. Mind you, this is a section with $10 loaded into the ticket, so you can buy these things with your ticket, and they didn’t look like mech buying people. nor did they really cheer much.
ANd they were needlessly blocking the three of us. I mean, we moved, so it was not really a big deal, just weird.
It’s just your magnetism.
BTW, we ditched the Mr. Mestpfeles thing. He has done it a bunch and I am told there are videos that I will find.
the other one, the older one was sent to the principal yesterday and I had a meeting with him and hs teacher (hitting) and they knew we had tickets for the game (theo talks a lot) they suggested that he recieve consequences for hitting three kinders, like not taking him to the game.
Thanks for the advice, now I have to avoid you guys at the BART station so you don’t think I am a terrible parent.
You and Theo should egg their cars.
I once covered my BFF’s car with raw biscuits and chocolate syrup.
And if he keeps hitting, then you take him to a Giants game.
Wait — he went three-for-three and you’re supposed to bench him?? Were they lefties or righties?
I had a ball to the backstop run scored in the front row seats. It was fun
Best regular season O.Co moment: close play at the plate w/Barton (safe). Second best: coco stealing home (out). Both were in Diamond Level.
fake to third move to first please
Mossome!
Moss is BOSS!
MOSS
And nice to see Milone get a chance for the W after the way he fought through this one.
If you’d told me Milone would be eligible for the win after those first two innings I’d have called you a liar.
then punched you in the throat
I haven’t been here much and I havent seen much baseball lately. But I caught yesterday’s game and today I tuned in in time to see that A’s score their first run.
I expect I’ll be around here more in the near future.
yay
Was thinking about you today, ptbnl’s gettin ready to brew some beer.
Stay with me, babe, and everybody gets fireworks.
Cook was just nasty there.
The last two guys to whiff in that inning looked especially helpless.
Just wondering – anybody else noticing a persistent and extremely annoying tendency for CSNCA to have momentary sound blackouts?
I call that Fosse free Baseball and look forward to it every night.
What’s annoying about it/
Sometimes they interrupt someone I actually want to hear (i.e., Not-Glen and Not-Fosse).
Hi.
hey there
Howdy, Ed.
Perez has a good batting average, but he doesn’t look like he walks much at all. Throw strikes, Grant.
I had a brief flashback to the Detroit playoff game. Phew.
Two in a row? TWO IN A ROW!
yay!
Grant Balfour is one intimidating motherfucker.
Don’t bet against Milone in the Coliseum.
the best game involving jesse chavez so far
SHARKS
Everyone out of the water!
Also Couture!
That was brilliant, loved the setup by Marleau.
two legit to quit was the 8th inning hand gesture song.
i forgot my nonsunglass glasses in wac’s car.
really wanted more trek. stomper’s ears were nice though.
I noticed too legit last night too.
I like it
Yeah, Too Legit is in heavy rotation this year. It’s a pretty horrible song really…I seem to remember it in its time as heralding the imminent suckitude of Hammer…but there wasn’t a Bernie Lean to be heard, and I’m OK with that.
Wow. I just watched the music video for that. Trip down memory lane there. He and his crew rock A’s leathermen jackets, lots of 80s/90s sports stars cameo including Rickey & Canseco.
They did play Bernie Lean and Call Me Maybe during the wait for people to get situated on the field for fireworks. Also Gangnam Style, which was notable because Sean Doolittle and a little boy did an excellent job of the sideways part. He and a good many other players, wives, kids, families, etc. were out on the grass in their own little section.
I kept waiting for the people in Starfleet uniforms and Klingon outfits who were wandering around the field before the game and before the fireworks to do something. But no.
all i saw was the original series clip when they normally play the sports highlight.
Which was pretty funny. (It was Kirk and Spock in the combat scene from “Amok Time”. BTW, we learned last night that wacchampions and TheFamousRalph have never seen any episode of any iteration of Star Trek, or any of the movies. We need to crowdsource an introductory shortlist for the off-season.)
*TOO!
(it was the fingers.)
I find of felt the Vulcan Stomper should have had the pointy end at the end of the floppy ears instead of the top. As it was, it made him look more Devil Stomper than Vulcan Stomper.
i like the one at 0:19.
Faaacinating.

silly, 2 is a number.
A logic test: If all chaps are assless, and if all British dudes are chaps, all British dudes are assless.
heh
Correct.
that’s why they invented the word arse. (so they could be chaps and still be able to go #2.)
Dolphins!
derived from post-game conversation about how wac and ralph have never seen a single star trek…
pick 4 episodes from any of the series to initiate a trek-virgin. you’re not necessarily trying to convince them to keep watching, but at least to let them have an impression of what the show and characters are about.
(last night we would have accepted movies, but i wonder if it’s possible to do this just from episodes.)
i’m not sure what my list is. i can’t even move past my first crossroads. i figure one original series ep has to be in there, but… the trouble with tribbles? or one of the more classic (and therefore showing a better panorama of the series) kirk-gets-laid by green/purple/gold/whathaveyou lady alien?
The City on the Edge of Forever
This episode had it all–science fiction, drama, suspense, romance, tragedy, and comedy.
Oh. And time travel!
i’m gonna have to watch it.
Edith Keeler must die.
Unfortunate accident with a mechanical rice picker.
