Buffalo buffalo buffalo Buffalo buffalo buffalo Buffalo buffalo.
word
I would like one more run for the A’s this inning.
Is that too much to ask?
This is turning in to quite a sports day. Warriors vs Spurs close, early in the 3rd quarter. Tiger has a one stroke lead on the back nine at the TPC. Two NHL Game 6’s and one Game 7 to come. And Cespedes Donaldson and Lowrie all have big hits yet to come today.
Hey we have tools again!
well i’ve never felt so belatedly welcomed back in my life…
If it’s any reassurance, I’m reasonably confident a decent lineup would’ve put up 5 or 6 runs on Saunders by now.
Wait, did VInce just say that Moss and Cespedes have good arms and Taylor has an average Arm?
I thought taylor had a good arm?
Anti-futility M O J O.
Hahahahaha
Ugh…
there has to be a three run home run somewhere on the A’s, right?
I still believe, but I’ll feel better when the DL empties up and Cespy remembers how to hit.
Dammit
Popped up bunt: hit
Ground ball right to the third baseman: hit
if it weren’t for bad luck…
We’re doing well in that category.
Josh Donaldson’s interview with Fosse during the pregame was an absolute train wreck of suck.
i already didn’t like the chron’s website auto-play videos with pre-ads that you can’t adblock because they’re in a flash container, but now that i have the auto-refresh GS/spurs page up? MURDERATE!
Cespys throws have been pretty off, hope he didn’t tweak his shoulder yesterday.
Remember when Smoak was a stud everyone was talking about?
And Ackley is looking like he’s on the same path.
Way to swing at ball 4…
Michael Taylor. You need to know that being a radio personality may be neat, but you could do better if you go back to stanford and finish your degree.
Warriors ball, tie game, 16 seconds left. Fun stuff.
jack had it. clunk.
That was all they could come up with? Jack dribbling away most of the clock then taking a low percentage fallaway? Sheesh.
They don’t have any good shooters on the team. Curry defected.
vince if its bounced to third, the ball is not foul
Not listening but I know exactly what you mean. Vince calls that play poorly every single fucking time.
Assuming he calls the play at all.
Brandon McCarthy has his first good start of the year, 8 innings of shutout ball against Philly. Heath Bell promptly blows the 2-0 lead in the 9th.
Jesse Chavez, my marker for when to stop watching, have a good rest of the weekend people.
Warriors! This is a great series.
Golf match tight to the very last. Though Sergio just put one in the water at 17 to presumably end his hopes.
Beloit (A’s single-A team) lost 23-16.
Meanwhile in the Cal League, Stockton got no hit and lost 2-0 in Lancaster. Strange day.
I could really push my luck and try to get ms. s to go to a Beloit game while we’re in Mil-Chi…
We could use a player like Casper Wells.
at least the angels lost and it wasn’t a perfect game
Can we have the A-Team back now, plz?
wow
Thanks, and go As.
Anderson twitted something and then deleted it?
He must have.
paraphrasing, basically it said “I can’t believe how irrelevant minor league baseball is and I’m reminded of it every time I make a rehab start.”
Thanks, and go As.
What a douche.
He’s lucky he deleted that shit in time.
Jesus.
FDLS just got DFAed. Id love to get him back in the organization.
I sort of forgot that we lost him.
Agreed
Addictive
If only I had gone by my gut that the first one was Montana..
Looks familiar!
That’s what I get for visiting weekly and not reading everything.
My scores came without any googling–just peripheral clues such as language, architecture, and landscapes.
you mean you didn’t cheat? how DARE you, sir?
It’s interesting to see how far you can get without googling – other big ones for me are what side of the road the car is on, the units of speed, and the climate-type of any vegetation.
It’s also a complete crapshoot. I’ve been dropped right next to a sign that tells me exactly where I am but also in the middle of nowhere in the prairie or desert – the latter are also trickier because the lens always seems to be dust-obscured. And the worst are when the sun is low in the sky and everything in one direction is obscured by flaring.
Using google-cheats and excluding the featureless-middle-of-nowhere ones I can generally get to within 10m.
The other big clue for non-cheating is using the direction of the sun to distinguish between northern and southern hemisphere (though you often have to draw back to minimum magnification to see it).
Difficult in the tropics.
True – I’ve mostly found it useful for distinguishing between northern and southern desert/forest, and Central and South America.
Australia vs the American Southwest / Mexico would be useful too.
I guess that falls under the category of northern and southern desert.
I think that’s the point, though – examine the area for the visual clues and see how close you can get without looking anything up.
Problem was, I got one for Japan and moved things around far enough to find a directional sign pointing to three different cities, and it still got me because the location itself wasn’t even on mainland Japan. It was some tiny island way to the south.
I’m good with a little bit of light cheating. Makes me feel like a PI. Something like finding a little sign with an area code on it, googling where that area code is in the US, then guessing from there for the exact location. So nothing I couldn’t get close to if I had a bit more geography knowledge.
Absolutely no cheating round: a little over 12,000. A couple of brutal endless farmland roads though
Having 3/5 in the US probably helped.
Also true. Although I did about as poorly on one of the US ones as I did the Norway one. Long and thin countries don’t make for the easiest guesses if all you can figure out is the country of the location.
No cheating round (does simply panning around count as cheating? 11,712 It helps that one of them was in Russia and there’s a big sign saying the name of the town.
Oops – link didn’t work.
Thanks to a very Americas-centric group, I beat my cheating round score with a no cheating round (thanks Key West and Manzanillo, Mexico for having your city names near by!)
I think anything that you can do within the window, panning, moving up and down the road is perfectly allowable in a non-cheating venue.
Here’s a cheat-free 11581 for me.
Cheat-free (that is, never leaving the window) 25849
Very lucky set … lots of signs, obvious and mostly distinctive languages, and even one place (Lisbon) I recognized from visiting a number of times.
20526 without any reference outside that tab
This was a pretty interesting one — it even included an indoor location where you wander around inside an aquarium instead of on roads.
You posted the challenge link instead of your results, but I think I got that same aquarium in mine.
I’d assumed it would pick locations at random and have essentially infinite possibilities, but I’m already seeing repeats (and I haven’t been playing *that* long).
I think you’re right. I just got 20,972 non-cheating, but I also got the same Manzanillo, Mexico location again.
Thanks for posting the challenge one. I enjoyed looking around the aquarium
I just got one with the Portland Japanese Garden including a view of downtown PDX.
what is light treason?
