Cespedes just hit a ball into a suite in Mt Davis. He's ridiculous. #Athletics.

No news on Nakajima but Melvin says it remains likely he'll open season on DL. #Athletics

lineup
#Athletics vs. #SFGiants: Crisp CF, Jaso C, Reddick RF, Cespedes DH, Lowrie SS, Moss 1B, Donaldson 3B, Smith LF, Sogard 2B. Straily P.

Looks like that’ll be Monday’s lineup.
This is one where hitters are fined for plate appearances longer than 3 pitches.
Happy bday Soaker.
Yeah, I have the full deck of 52 cards now. Happy birthday to you as well!
Thanks.
hbd.
happy birthdays two yous
hbd
Happy birthday, you two
2xhbd
Happy birthday both of you. People both on 30ths are the best.
I too like drunk people.
Many happy returns!
Hey, happiest of birthdays!
Happppyyyyyy Biiiiirrrrthhhhhdddaaaaayyyyy!!!!!!! to both of youuuuuuuu!!!
Thank you! I’m waiting to see if my 78-year-old mother remembers this. Not yet. :-(
enjoy them both of you
The West Side Club has been rebranded the “Bar and Grill” and there are many delicious-looking new menu items including lobster rolls and prime rib chili cheese fries.
Anything vegetarian?
Gawd I hope so, I’m getting tired of veggie dogs and french fries…
I have actually hit the fruit stand, nothing was ripe and it was so cold it hurt my teeth a little.
WHY IS THERE NO BURRITO STAND?
veggie dogs at their single stand
I’m so tired of Fat Tire and Ranger, I miss it when they had it at both stands at least, sucks when your first base side.
I will say Ikes Lair sandwiches are pretty perfect for the ballpark, still good hours after you buy them.
Had some pretty good Xolo games too!
especially on a crowded day and they run out anyway
Yeah, but the ‘running out’ thing just started happening to me last year, wonder if more folks are buying them now for health reasons.
fat tire sucks
Ranger rules
They should have gone with a start wars cantina theme.
prime rib chili cheese fries… Excuse me a moment.
That’s four things that can be very good separately, but in one big pile it doesn’t work for me. Especially with the assumption it is actually saucy cheese-like substance.
Well I love chili cheese fries, so I’m assuming the addition of prime rib will not be a negative one.
this this this
Depending on how you parse that the prime rib might be part of the chili. Needs more research.
I volunteer to undertake this. I’ll probably need to order several to get a big enough sample size.
Gags: I tell my infielders to go work on their fielding in the cage. if you hit it doesn’t matter what you do out there
this is what my father told me growing up
Seriously, how is it remotely possible to hit with that kind of stance/mechanics?
Hunter “cody Ross” pence needs medication me thinks
Flailing?
I like that upgraded score bug CSN is using. Well-organized and the font doesn’t cause eye-strain.
The overlay?
I learned from Cotroneo’s twitter this morning that Cespedes (knock on wood) will be the 14th different opening day LFer for the A’s in the last 14 years. Can anyone name them all? Did we already do this at some point?
I know I’ve gone through that list before. It starts Grieve, Damon, Justice. Some of them are, whoops, forgot about him entirely.
Emil, Holliday, Coco
Not Justice.
Not Peace
ISWYDT
(sorry, I momentarily broke FK there)
Yeah, I looked it up, he was in right field that year.
The full list is:
Grieve, Damon, Jeremy Giambi, Long, Kielty, Byrnes, Payton, Stewart, FKing Emil Brown, Holliday, Buck, Willingham, Crisp
The Oakland leader is (duh) Rickey with 12.
Just checking: is this the spoiler tag?
Right field has been almost as much of a revolving door. Over that same 14 year span, no one has made more than two Opening Day starts in RF for the A’s. Reddick is about to become just the third player to get two Opening Day starts in right. Who are the other two? I’m not counting Matt Stairs, who got the Opening Day start two years in a row, but the first one was 15 years ago.
Bonus follow up: name the 7 players who got one Opening Day start in RF (again, not including Stairs)
Travis Buck, Dye twice? Others: Cust, DeJesus, Bradley, Swisher, TLong? and …
Oh jeez, I forget now. I’m pretty sure that you’re right with Buck and Dye. Probably the others as well. Gold star!!
I looked it up. It was Dye and Buck. The others were Giambi, Justice, Swisher, Bradley, Sweeney, DeJesus, Cust.
Oh my, Josh. Don’t waste too many of those in exhibitions.
Cute shot of Marco talking and laughing with gags after that play
So, the Giants, who don’t have names on the back of their regular season jerseys, have names on the back of their spring jerseys. Vice versa for the A’s. Vive la difference.
They don’t only for home games.
Cuse starts in three minutes. I think Marquette is a really tough match-up.
So far Marquette is playing like a team that’s never seen the Cuse zone before, oddly.
Gardner started killing Cuse again
Officiating is Big East, though. Almost everything goes
24-18 at halftime. Ugh.
As far as I’m concerned, that could be the final score, too
Fewer points than minutes for Marquette. Wow.
Waste of a game all around. Hope the next one is better.
booooo
Final Fucking Four!
Yuhuuuu
Also, cutting the nets in Verizon center…
Impossible FKwiz: Who was the opening day centerfielder for the 2000 A’s?
Jeremy Giambi??
Wow. You weren’t kidding when you said impossible!
I honestly think Beane and Howe would draw a blank on this one.
Todd Van Poppel!
Nope. That would have been hilarious though.
Also, the seven Opening Day left fielders from 1980 through 1998 not named Rickey (6 different players);
1985 Dave Collins, 1986-1987 Jose Canseco, 1988 Dave Parker, 1989 Tony Phillips, 1996 Phil Plantier, 1997 Jason Giambi
I had forgotten that the 1988 starter did anything but DH for the A’s.
I have never heard of that guy. Released in May of that year, too.
I forgot 07 and 06 guys were different people
Coco shaking his wrist…
1) the outfield wall is in need of liquid leather vinyl repair
2) I WONDER IF CESPEDES GETS TO THAT
:( :( :(
this
I hope he ambles out to the RF bleachers at some point.
Knowing a few people over there, he is.
Ooof…
Best tattooed Aussie metal head pitcher we’ll ever have.
Way get out of it Strailey!
Jaso with an abnormally long look at the third base coach
Chili is a smart man.
Was thinking the same thing.
Agree.
Jaso is using a natural wook Marccuchi bat. I have not seen that before
Heh, it’s ball 4 Posey…
I really like the idea of Jaso hitting second, but if they ever ask him to bunt Coco over I am going to scream.
OH YEAH!!!
WOW
He’s been hitting some ropes this last week..
I let out an involuntary “oooooooh” at that one.
that guy is gonna knock down either Mt Davis or the BBQ terrace
According to twitter, he hit one in BP this morning that landed inside one of the Mt Davis suites.
Oh for FK’s sake, give that man a ten year contract.
Drool…
Let’s talk money. How much do you think it would it take?
Since the reason for the 4-year deal was early FA, at least $200M.
At least 7/150 on top of the 3/27 he has left.
If he let us do some tweaking to the yearly numbers of the current contract, sure, why not. And if he doesn’t? Sure… why not.
i do that in a heartbeat
Gaudin looked OK batting
Compared to me? Sure.
I want to see dolittle get abs
So you want to see him with his shirt off?
Me too until I heard that he couldn’t even hit BP anymore, hittings hard….
That Reggie bobblehead is nice looking.
Mets outfield: Lucas Duda, Collin Cowgill, Marlon Byrd
Just give them the World Series right there folks! /Fosse
Astros outfield: Chris Carter, Justin Maxwell, Rick Ankiel
Still cant believe they are playing him in LF…
good god, don’t they know they can use the DH now?
That’s Carlos Pena’s job.
so bret wallace can play first?
Of course!
Wow.
A-Rod makes about as much as the Astros. I’d also wager that A-Rod will accumulate as much WAR as the Astros will this year, too.
He makes more than the Astros.
You forgot the two highest paid outfielders, Bobby Bonilla and Jason Bay
Bobby Bo is making more than most of the players together or something, no?
The Bobby Bonilla thing fascinates me. From his wiki page:
Who was the player the Mets so desperately needed?
Respect. Bonilla is living the freaking dream, people.
BTW, unsung hero in Bonilla getting that deal? Rickey. I think it was their famous card game that finally made the Mets flip out re Bobby Bo.
Given their recent history, it’s a mystery how the Wilpons got rich in the first place.
Looking back at the timeline, they had just acquired Derek Bell and Mike Hampton in a trade, and they both were making at least $5 million which was pretty respectable at the time.
Yep:
Reddick looks like he could have spent the offseason putting on chains on I-80.
Josh Reddick, chain monkey.
cooking meth
selling cords of wood from trees felled under suspicious circumstances
finishing the last 3 months of his sentence for punching a police horse
surfing south africa
lost in an Oregon forest
Hahaha
…or maybe addicted to playing World of Warcraft, and has not left the house in a while.
Living in a shack in Montana while sending care packages to old friends in college.
That’s one funky monkey.
Fosse’s really grilling Parker on the uniform number issue. Move over, Mike Wallace.
wow, that was some quality fosse follow up questions. He did not let go of that, and got his scoop
I hope bartolo gets a good ovation coming in
I was going to suggest we take guesses on the DFA date. I think Memorial Day.
The MOMA is closing down for reservations so if were going to have a date its going to be before june
Reservations or renovations?
renovations
They are building a whole nother’ 13 story building and remodeling the existing one.
Are they open for reservations during the renovations?
Heh, considering they haven’t even finalized which architectural plans they will proceed with, it’s a total shit show right now from what i hear, I’d say – yes!
I guarantee that if you take me on a date to the MOMA it will require less than 90 seconds for you to determine that we’re not an intellectual match.
lol
Take Bartolo to the Legion of Honor instead. I bet he likes Rubens.
…and he cannot lie.
heh
I bet he like Reubens too.
How long have you been cooking up that one?
He did. But he’s not gonna get one going out, at this rate.
heh
Pence is a strikeout waiting to happen.
Aside from the triple all the hits were singles, 5 INN, 79/52 (looks like he was squeezed a bit to me), 6 H, 5 K, 0 BB, 0 R.
That’s about as good as you could hope for your #5 starter
[ removes cap, claps loudly ]
He still seems to leave a lot of balls up. And one of those Ks was Gaudin. But yeah, not bad.
This is true and people made contact, but not much XBH contact.
yup. and the triples should have been doubles
How are you clapping with your hat in hand?
I’m biting the brim!
“Susan Slusher,” Ray?
That’s what they call her when she’s covering a tire-chaining shift on I-80.
Yay, Mama Slusser!
Total Panik move.
So, any word, is Coco broken?
he is fine
Whew.
cespedes looked uncomfortable there
Nice
What a cool guy.
We can see him, just above the I in the Reddick banner.
That’s awesome. I hope he find his way back to the A’s system.
Selfishly I agree, but for his sake I hope another team picks him up. He knows it’s harder to get back up once you’re stuck back in the minors, especially not on a 40-man roster.
Blackley is definitely better than quite a few other teams’ present 11th and 12th pitchers.
The Angels come to mind.
It’s a tough situation. Maybe in part, he caught lightning in a bottle last year and finally had his MLB moment after so long. I don’t think he’s as good as he often looked, but he sure was a big part of winning the division.
On the other hand, it flat out sucks that a rough spring led to this, especially with some of the other moves the A’s have made. I’d much rather have him around on the MLB roster.
It’s a fool’s game to second guess the A’s front office when it comes to evaluating pitchers. But he definitely seemed like a piece you try to hold on to if possible given his versatility.
yeah, he will go somewhere. He probably knows a bit right now
perfect
Awesome!!!
Damn it, my plans for tonight just got canceled at the last minute. Looks like imma watch the rest of this here game and feel hella homesick.
Sorry beebo. Come home soon.
30,266
nobody will come to the stadium
Nobody goes there anymore, it’s too crowded
Only giants fans show up.
Jiggle, jiggle, jiggle, jiggle
Bartolo too fast for his own good
That could have been a decent play
Um… the A’s better not start off slow this season.
ouch. that is incorrect Bartolo
Well, fuck.
I don’t like bartolo facing the B team.
what was that music on the comcast game highlights photos?
I just set up some players for The Game, which is some fangraphs fantasy baseball type thing except that you get to chose a different player every day and the overall scoring is by WAR (not VORP… sorry Bed). Is anyone else doing this, or has anyone else tried it in the past? If others are interested, it looks like we could set up a FK league.
I’ll be your huckleberry if you set it up.
i will too
I think you go and sign up for the overall league. You need a fangraphs account, which is free (I don’t think fangraphs+ is necessary). Then, if you just tell me your screen name, I can add people to the league.
So I guess it’s not really a separate league, so much as just a leaderboard that we can use to track how we are doing against each other, instead of the entire fangraphs community.
Appelman just posted an article reminding people to sign up, and describing how it works.
And I created the league “Free Kraut is for Lovers”. If you sign up, post your screen name and I’ll add you.
bdunn
It looks like you only made a catcher. You can make a player at each position (8 positions total).
vorai
also, what is the role of picking an MLB team for your players?
It’s just for the leaderboards. They show the results on leaderboards that are identical to the normal fangraphs ones. So, while the overall scoring is based on WAR, you can also see who in the league has the most HR, WPA, etc. Your players’ team just helps for sorting, so you can compare yourself against everyone else who chose the same team. Possibly the prizes that fangraphs gives out for the best two players at each position are actually for the best two players at each position from each team? I’m not sure. Anyway, I just put all of my players on the A’s.
My same user name
You could always do something similar as you guys do for football. Guess the outcome of wins/loss by series instead of per game, but follow an AL team & NL all season.
Is this the one where you do a new team every day?
Yeah, you get to pick a different player every day. I’m not sure why I’m doing it exactly, since my problem with other fantasy baseball leagues is that I don’t want to spend the necessary amount of time and this format seems way way worse.
or you could do what i did and just pick the player that will have the league highest WAR at the position and not think that you can out guess the variance.
off days
Also, you have a limited number of dollars to spend for the season. For most positions, you have $1000 to spend over 162 games (so about $6 per game). So you can’t just pick a star every day.
So on June 1 it’s Parker, Milone, Griffin, Straily and Figueroa. I’m sticking with 80-82.
I might even take an under on that
Good job on the negativity, guys, but I won’t be convinced we’ll have a winning season until DFA’s opening day “You ruined it!!” post.
It’s not negativity. I hope they will do better, of course, but I am not convinced they will. I see them as about a .500 team if not too many DL trips are needed.
I know. I was just poking fun at how off we all were last March.
Won’t make that mistake again. This year I’m calling 94 Wins, AL West champs.
The real orgy of negativity doesn’t come until at least Game 50.
tagline??
Good God, yes.
Ha ha, I remember that game. You and I collectively called what was going to happen in that ninth inning.
Yes, your comment last night that losing to Zito was last year’s low point led me to re-read that thread.
Record on May 29, 2012 = 22-28
Record for the rest of the season from that point on = 72-40 (.643)
Was that an FU blown game?
Was it ever.
Bottom of the 9th, Twins Batting, Behind 0-2, Athletics’ Brian Fuentes facing 9-1-2
Brian Fuentes replaces Grant Balfour pitching
J. Carroll: Single to RF (Line Drive)
D. Span: Walk; Carroll to 2B
B. Revere: Bunt Popfly: P (Front of Home)
J. Mauer: Groundout: 1B-SS/Forceout at 2B; Carroll to 3B
J. Willingham: Home Run (Fly Ball to Deep LF-CF); Carroll Scores; Mauer Scores
3 runs, 2 hits, 0 errors, 0 LOB. Athletics 2, Twins 3.
Ha! That was the game I was picturing. It really *was* the bottom. It’s funny just how prominent that one loss was to the season. Even if we hadn’t turned it around, it would have stood as *the* moment when all hope for the season was lost.
nobody was not alone in prophesying doom for the 2012 A’s last spring.
AL WEST CHAMPS one and all
Weeks 2B, Cowgill LF, Reddick RF, Smith DH, Inge 3B, Ka’aihue 1B, Suzuki C, Crisp CF, Pennington SS
That was deep in the “will Coco Crisp ever hit major league pitching again” period.
I can tell I’m not the only person who’s a little sloshed in that thread.
as opposed to having blackly?
Grand Teton’s Howling Wolf Weisse Bier is quite good. I shall be drinking more of it.
Would you say it’s a real Wang Dang Doodle?
Reggie Miller says “also, too…” non-ironically.
Reggie Miller is insufferable. He has irritated me more this tournament than every other color and pxp guy in the tournament combined.
He’s every bit as irritating as a commentator as he was as a player. Which is saying something.
I LOVE Reggie Miller
Bob Melvin may have a future in diplomacy:
Boy, Dogfather is loving life right about now.
I was actually hoping that Michigan would get to take-on THE Vegetative State in the Finals. But what I’m mostly hoping is that if I continue to ignore the tournament, my boys will continue to prosper in it.
That said, today’s game was, well, a bit of a Shocker.
So pls forget I said anything. At all.
What does it say about by abilities in the bedroom that I physically cannot make my hand do that?
That your chief weapon isn’t surprise?
You sure can. All you need is an ax and one good swing.
Oh man.
Still can’t get over Blackley chilling in the bleachers the day after getting DFA’d.
I know, right? I love him even more now.
you guys were busy while i was on my deathbed
Thanks, and go As.
That doesn’t sound good. Did you get llama flu?
been dead to the world since tuesday night. missed 3 days work. been chugging nyquil just to keep myself knocked out.
haven’t been sick like this in years
Thanks, and go As.
oh that sucks.
nyquil doesn’t count as a fluid you need to replenish
All that making out…
mono?
It’s going around town. Sounds like Michael5 has it much worse than me. I just restocked on nyquil.
Oh look at you, so privileged, with a BED, you think you are so high and mighty, eh? You are better than us that don’t have anything but dirt and nails and cats to lay on, eh?
Yeah, seriously. We had to move on.
its only a bed to die on. its temporary use.
Thanks, and go As.
Well, then, here’s wishing you a little peace to die and a friend or two you love at hand.
Hurry up! There’s lots of other people waiting around to die on that bed once you’re done.

What a great day out at the Coliseum, it was awesome to have a huge crowd with the majority being A’s fans, the new menu and green and gold lighting in the Bar and Grille (Formerly known as Westside Club), awesome weather, Travis Blackley hanging out in the stands with random fans and then spending significant time in the RF Bleachers, hanging out with friends and seeing the A’s Win!!
Looking forward to Monday! I know you’re gonna be crazy busy at the Let’s Go Oakland tailgate, sounds like it’ll be huge.
Yeah its going to be really fun!! I will be there super early, what time are you arriving?
Between 2:00 and 3:00 I think.
Ok, awesome! I will see you there..Can Not Wait!
Yay…the fake games are over.
“I wish every day was a shearing festival!”
God I love this movie.
YES! I just happened to sit down to watch TV as the opening credits started. I had forgot to reset my DVR for it when we switched to comcast.
The kids had to put up with my walking around like Yul Brynner and Mrs Aces saying “are her lips as red as pomegranates like mine?” all night.
Much like the LOTR movies, I will also always tune in to an hour or three of the Ten Commandments when I’m channel surfing. Last night Nurse Upgrade was feeding me fun google facts as the film went on, such as “they used egyptian air force jet engines to create the sandstorms” and “did you know it took then 3 weeks to film the orgy scene?”
Don’t stop til you get enough.
My favorite is still casting decisions like Vincent Price and Edward G Robinson. And I just learned, thanks to your inspiration, that Herb Alpert was a Hebrew drummer somewhere in there…
It’s rumored that among the 15,000 extras is Fidel Castro!
Jose Fernandez just got promoted and should stay up whole year. This might be the stupidest move Marlins made all year
That org has one helluva a talent pipeline. They’ve earned the benefit of the doubt when it comes to promotions, no?
I’m not saying that Fernandez doesn’t have the talent. But, he has never pitched above Class A, and is a potential ace of the rotation. I guess I just don’t see them being competitive this year and see this as a waste of a control year
So now we’re damning the Marlins for spending too much money?
I am not damning anyone, I am just saying that I think it is a stupid move
Because they lose a year of cost control?
Marlins (rightly) get shit for being cheapskates, but here’s what has to be considered a baseball move damn the finances.
Yeah yeah, they’ll trade him in four years anyway.
A-ball to the majors is seldom a smart baseball move.
This. Why not at least give him some Triple-A time first?
Not only because of one year of control, but also because of that, especially because they are spending it in a year where they are very unlikely to be competitive.
Also, because I think this is not necessarily the best development curve for a 20-year old pitcher who never pitched above A and who is arguably the biggest future asset they have. And because the move was made because two players went on DL, not because they were thinking that would be the best way to develop him. If you are a pitcher down and you really need a starter that badly, go pick up Freddy Garcia or something.
Having said all that, I am super psyched to see him play. I own him in my dynasty league
Nice!
I would have let him spend the year in AA honestly, they will not be anywhere near competitive…
I just came here to post this, didn’t stop me from putting in a waiver bid on him though. ;)
Colin, where are the DIY shows this weekend brah? I can’t wait to get in the pit
http://www.slate.com/articles/news_and_politics/crime/2013/03/boston_police_catfishing_indie_rockers_cops_pose_as_punks_on_the_internet.single.html
read the lounge on fire thread, undercover ed.
though i guess it gave me time to find the song it reminded me of. minute 3:03 to minute 4:15 (and waaaay before cartman’s authority.)
heh.
Michigan looks scary good in the early going
Taxes done.
Now on to more pressing issues. I now have a flagpole courtesy of the White Elephant Sale. Where’s the best/cheapest place to get a A’s flag?
Holly FK, Kevin Ware, that was horrible. Poor guy
I saw the gif. Once. Never again.
I was watching it live. First thing I saw was a Duke player and I thought he got hit in the eye, but he was reacting to what he saw. Again, this shows how many things we take for granted.
I was out; I will now try to avoid seeing it in the future.
Perhaps it’s better. It was like Theisman, but in plain sight
Though you many find other aspects of this game rather pleasing.
Always pleased (and relieved) when Duke loses.
Maybe he got hit in the eye by a shard.
That was seriously ugly.
As if the world needed another reason to root for Duke to lose this game.
Here is the high resolution, very explicit still photo of the injury. I should probably advise against looking at it.
I am never, ever, evereverever looking at this. Thanks for posting though.
Having only seen the ESPN distant moving picture, I wasn’t quite sure why people were ready to throw up on the court. Now I know.
apparently a few fans did.
Interestingly enough, he is expected to fully recover and play next year. In the end it’s still just a broken leg, just a really Fking nasty one.
Thanks, and go As.
Compound fractures are always pretty gnarly looking, but its a clean break more often than not if I understand correctly.
The danger with such displaced fractures is that the sharp edges of the broken bone cut the ligament somewhere. Bone will heal, it will be even stronger then before, I hope all the tendons are OK, though
I saw a couple of docs on Twitter speculating right afterward that he might have bone cancer or something else bad going on, in order for the bone to snap like that. But apparently not; just landed in exactly the wrong way.
Maybe I am a sociopath, It didn’t bother me
No – just among those of us who take bodily stuff in stride. This is the second picture of bone break that I’ve seen in the last 24 hours; the first was the mother of one of Spawn1’s classmates, who had a roller skating fall and, as someone who works in a hospital, took a picture of it, which is kind of amusing. That one was considerably less horrible than Ware’s injury though.
Speaking of amusing, when I was 13 I broke school long jump record in my first jump and my arm in the second. I went to a school with very limited budget, so the sand pit was not really meant for anyone to leap into. before the meet started we were still collecting stones and pebbles out of it, and it was really hard. I landed a bit sideways and caught the full impact on the doubled palm of my hand. I remember having a cheap metal armband watch and how it shattered when my bone broke. The break was about two thirds of the way between my elbow and my wrist, not open, but with very, very clear displacement. And then I heard my biology/anatomy teacher calling the ambulance and telling them I dislocated my wrist.
That was the moment I knew that we were on our own if we wanted some education.
Rub some pebbles on it.
heh
That arm kept giving me problems, and I feel it now, still. To start with, there was no surgery, but the surgeon who just pressed the bone back in the place (or the vicinity of it). Then, as they put the cast on it and I made it back in time for victory ceremony, the band holding my hand ripped as I was climbing the podium and I hit the railing with it. Two weeks later, I felt good and wanted to test if it had healed so I decided to lift my body while sitting with my legs outstretched (kind like a gymnast in the floor exercise). It hadn’t healed. But I kept my mouth shut, because I knew my parents would be upset, so they took the cast off as planned. Finally on the day they took the cast off, I decided to play soccer and play a goalie, so of course this big kid breaks free and shoots what felt like an 100 mph shot from 5 yards out directly on my doubled palm. I think that hand never really healed properly.
typical
To be fair, it wasn’t much of a record. Scholastic sports in most of Europe and certainly in the mid-eighties Yugoslavia were vastly, vastly inferior to those in the US. If you were any good you practiced and competed on the athletic clubs, and school competitions were few and far apart. This specific one was to honor Tito’s birthday and there were lot of kids competing who were not in the active competition in the clubs.
OW!
Who told Mr(s). Google that s/he could change my gmail composer?
oh my gosh yes. HATE HATE HATE the new version. Like hurt things HATE.
Sonya Curry is the only thing I’ll miss seeing when they all go home
Warrior playoff games.
Less than an inning in the books for the season and there’s already a bad call that replay could have fixed in seconds.
Andrus should have had a single. Replay clearly showed the ball bounce.
I was referring to the stolen base in the first.
so there were two plays?
Yeah. I should have been more clear to say that it was a second blown call.
Chris Carter batting third, playing left field
I think it would be more fun to watch if he was playing third.
Chris Carter, playing third, batting left.
That would make…no sense.
He’s no Daric Barton.
Alone in first in the AL West – Houston Astros.
Rangers in the cellar, woo!
the Astros have never trailed anyone in the American league
I have a soft spot for the Stros’.
My little league team was The Astros, my very first uniform was a harvest rainbow with a blue star, #27, what I’d give to have that smelly poly-cotton jersey now. I can still remember how I painstakingly spent 15 minutes writing my name on the inner waistbands of the bottoms w/ a laundry marker so it’d be in perfect block letters.
Good times.
I was on the Astros my first fast pitch year in 1981.
Half way through the season I asked my coach if we could go on strike
In the future…Ed would become a lawyer.
Ladies and gentlemen… The Houston Firstros.
LOL
I think they will go 162-0!
WooHoo!
